PA Senate Approves Table Games Bill

And I thought the PA lottery was supposed to benefit elderly Pennsylvanians. Maybe we misunderstood?  (Jan 7, 2010 | post #5)

Dan Hartzell: Road Warrior What put brakes on a Rt. 378 e...

Be careful what you wish for. Have you experienced the traffic disaster at the Bethlehem-Hellerto wn interchange lately? It wasn't great BEFORE the casino. Now it's gridlock for several hours a day. Mostly I get to I-78 by going thru Center Valley, to go west, or by winding my way thru Williams Township to Morgan Hill Road to go east. I propose removing the Bethlehem-Hellerto wn exit. Maybe they could just move it to 378?  (Nov 30, 2009 | post #1)

Route 412 repaving to begin in Hellertown

I bet the UGI backhoe operators can't wait to dig into that fresh pavement on 412 between Water St. and "Neighbors ". They've been digging that up, over and over, for more than 10 years. Wouldn't you think they could have replaced ALL the pipes there within a decade? Job security, I guess. C'mon UGI... are you gonna let them paint the crosswalks before you can dig up the south end of town? You guys are slippin'.  (Aug 26, 2009 | post #3)

Project Begins To Resurface Stretch Of Route 412

This isn't news AND it's nothing new. During daylight hours, Mon-Sat., Route 412 has been a parking lot for many months. WFMZ hasn't reported THAT, have they?  (Jul 27, 2009 | post #1)

Hellertown will keep Tumminello property

Excuse me? This happened in Hellertown. What are you thinking? If you want things to make sense go to Bethlehe... well, wait a minute... Coopersburg, yeah, that's it... er, no, that doesn't work either. Raubsville? Easton? Palmer Township? Emmaus? Never mind.  (Jul 22, 2009 | post #3)

Bethlehem hopes to turn steel mill to gold

The casino has turned the sleepy neighboring Hellertown into something more resembling Woodbridge, or East Brunswick, almost overnight. I've seen no positives yet. I'll let you know... don't hold your breath.  (Jul 19, 2009 | post #13)

Route 412 repaving to begin in Hellertown

Starting Monday? I'd be willing to bet those mysterious crews which have been digging holes along Main Street for the last 6 months aren't done. Who will win, the pavers or the diggers? I love that the story warns that we should be ready for delays on Rt.412... as if delays aren't a constant problem on 412 most of the time.  (Jul 19, 2009 | post #1)

Yeah. I'm not sure of the current status. Seems to me, about 10-12 years ago, they excavated a portion of the property, then quickly paved over the entire lot. I'm thinking they found something other than antique bottles and Indian artifacts.  (Jun 29, 2009 | post #2)

Many of the same promises were made in Atlantic City, NJ when the casinos came in. Travel 2 blocks inland from the boardwalk in AC today and it's worse than before the casinos. Don't hold your breath for that big money to start rolling in Lehigh Valley.  (Jun 22, 2009 | post #11)

Lower Saucon, Hellertown to address land plans

No, I don't want to move to either really but I never thought Williams Twsp. would become "West New Jersey". These people just don't understand that just because there is a little open land near their house, it doesn't mean they can use it as they wish. If they came and asked permission, I just might let them ride their stupid little scooters out there but no, they don't need no stinking permission. Oh yeah, tell me about Easton Road. Why does PennDot bother with double yellow lines? Passing, between the I-78 bridges, seems to be a sport. Try doing the speed limit and you'll get your doors blown off. Have you ever seen the police, who sit in the parking lot of the old schoolhouse, pull anyone over for speeding. I haven't.  (Jun 22, 2009 | post #16)

Lower Saucon, Hellertown to address land plans

Maybe I should move there. Try to spend a quiet Saturday or Sunday in Williams Township. Mufflerless ATV's, dirt bikes and all sorts of street-illegal vehicles outnumber American made SUV's. If they stayed on their own property I'd be happy, to be quite honest. But without police to patrol Williams they cruise the streets without regard for stop signs or even which side of the road they ride. When I ask the riders to not use the back section of my property as a hill climb, I am greeted by a broken car windshield the next morning. I don't know when it became okay for one person's rights to infringe upon another's.  (Jun 15, 2009 | post #14)

Bethlehem & Hellertown - Rt. 412 closed for bridge removal

It sure is interesting to see all that traffic on Lower Saucon Road. A few try to escape up Woodland Road and through Williams Township but it does them no good. They just end up going out Valley View and back into the tie up on Lower Saucon Road.  (Apr 12, 2009 | post #4)
