please help us!!!

My boyfriend and I have been suffering with scabies since at least March and more likely since before the first of the year. We've treated with permethrin twice but never had enuf of it to cover us really good plus we probably didn't cover all the bases as well as we now know how to. We purchased 10% permethrin and ivermectin from amazon and plan to begin treatment this weekend. Our plan is as follows; We bagging up all the clothing we plan to wear...as well anything else we plan on using over that following week, such as our laptop, etc....today or tomorrow. We'll place it in a car we already bombed with Raid Fumigator, where it will sit for the rest of the week. On Saturday afternoon we'll bomb our second car and then take a cab to a hotel. That evening we'll start treatment with both iver and perm. The following day we'll cab back to our apartment parking lot, pick up the car with our clothing, etc., and drive it to another hotel, where we're staying for the next 5 nights. BEFORE all of this I will dip and treat both of my cats. We've created a warm and cozy area for them out on the balcony with access into an enclosed and carpeted storage closet where they will spend the week. We'll bomb the rest of the apt. With Raid Fumugator as we leave here on Saturday. We hope to return to a bug free apartment. We will repeat Iver. And Perm. treatment at least two more times - but probably three more - each spaced about a week apart. As you can imagine, this has already cost us - and is going to cost us - a small fortune! We are both unemployed and I'm disabled, so I thank god our families are helping! I hope we covered all our bases. If anyone can spot a flaw in my plan, could you PLEASE post here or email me at: [email protected] m Thank you all so much!!! aida  (Oct 28, 2013 | post #1)

Treatment and leaving home for awhile?

I really need some advice. My boyfriend and I have both had scabies...probably for months and months now. I'm on my way to urgent care to (hopefully) get prescribed topical and oral treatments. We plan to lock up the apartment and go to his family's house for 6 or 7 days, do both of our treatments there, and then return home. Here's where we disagree. I believe we should give the apartment a thorough cleaning/disinfect ing before we leave...using Clorox, Diatomaceous earth, borax sprays, bagging up all of our clothing, vacuuming, etc. He says that if the bugs will die in 3 or 4 days anyway, then we don't need to do any of that. Those with experience, what do you think? Will leaving the house locked up and empty with the air-conditioner on for about a week be enough? Thank you! aida [email protected] m  (Aug 19, 2013 | post #1)

Sulfur Treatment Horror Story

Yesterday, my boyfriend and I gave ourselves our first Sulfur Treatment using De La Cruz 10% Sulfur Ointment. Within moments of applying the ointment to our bodies we were overwhelmed with what felt like hundreds of bites all over our body and itching so bad we were both in tears.  I tried everything to ignore it, but barely made it an hour before I gave up. However, during this time dozens and dozens of black dots surfaced!  Both of us had to jump in the shower and scrub ourselves from head-to-toe with Dawn Dishwashing Detergent before we felt halfway normal again.  Is this a natural reaction when the mites are dying or protesting? Can anyone tell me, because I'm now afraid to use Sulfur again!!! Also, I need a good recipe for a spot/area treatment on my skin.  We've been using Tea Tree Oil but I wonder if it would be even more effective if mixed with something?  I've read of people using Alcohol and Hydrogen Peroxide, and I'm sure that I've even seen mentions of Windex and Listerine.   Thank you in advance for your help!!! aida [email protected] m  (Aug 16, 2013 | post #1)

Please - need scabies advice!!!

I'll make this very short for now. My boyfriend and I have a huge infestation of scabies due to an incorrect diagnosis given months ago. We have no idea where they came from but they're driving us insane! Have an appt. with a doctor soon, but in the meantime we are treating ourselves with Tea Tree Oil and Sulfur ointment as well as lice shampoo, Head and Shoulders, Olive Oil, Sulfur Soap, Clove Oil, and Eucalyptus Oil (as well as thorough house cleaning, bagging all clothing, bedding, pillows, etc., washing bedding daily in hot water and Borax with long, very hot dryer cycles.  Yesterday we each began soaking for 30 minutes in a bath of Borax, Hydrogen Peroxide, and Tea Tree Oil. Last night both of us were in agony as our bodies felt as if we were being bitten or something - extreme itchiness and sharp pinpricks all over the place!!! Can anyone tell me if this is a GOOD sign after a soak? My boyfriend thought they were trying to dig in deeper, but I thought (and hoped) they were dying, protesting, or trying to escape.  I have also read that bath soaks can send these suckers up onto your head.   What about if you soak your head as well, or even coat your head and neck in sulfur first?   Finally, I believe one or more have gotten into my boyfriend's ear and it's killing him!  I've had him rub sulfur in and around it.  Will this work or is there a more effective way to kill it/them? And how can we flush the little sucker(s) out? Any thoughts or advice would be so very welcome!!!  Thank you!!!  (Aug 15, 2013 | post #1)
