IYO, Which Religion Does God View As The Right One?

Nice bout of insult slinging Miner. It's so much easier than actually proving your claim that I have not read the Bible then actually providing proof to your assertions. How about you show me where I am wrong? Doesn't the Bible say that all who do not accept his gift of salvation will be punished for ever and ever in the lake of sulphur , fire and brimstone? As for your thoughts on evolution, you obviously don't have the first clue what it actually entails. Monkeys didn't "turn into" Neanderthals. Evolution is about change over time, meaning an ancestor population changes and develops into a new species based on selection pressures in the environment. I would humbly suggest you actually do a little reading and gain an understanding of this basic tenet of biology, which happens to be supported by a number of other scientific disciplines. Also, I'm not some internet gunslinger who Googles all his facts from random webpages. I actually hold a couple degrees of higher eduction, including a Masters Degree. So enjoy your perch but I'm sure I don't have to tell you that it's the canary that is the first to go.  (Sep 6, 2014 | post #15)

You might want to do some more research into Evolution and Climate Change. Also, please use the proper context of "theory" . Both have plenty of evidence, mountains of it in fact. As for closingy mind, I was a Christian for about 1/2 of my life. I have read the Bible in full at least a dozen times. The Judeo/Christian God is little more than an insecure sadist. What justice is it to punish someone forever for the simple crime of not believing in your "love". If I set one of my children on fire for not believing what I said people would rightfully call me a monster. And that would only be for a limited time, not eternity. A parents love is unconditional. Yes punishment is needed but rin eal justice the punishment fits the crime and is not one size fits all.  (Sep 6, 2014 | post #12)

The attributes you mentioned are not exclusive to religion or even humans. As for how they "control and command", well that could make a book. Religion demands that you "spread the word", seeking to force your beliefs on those around you even if they disagree. Some examples beyond just knocking on doors would be the attempt to ban gay marriage, abortion, stem cell research, and to try and force your Creation myth into schools as Science. As for "more Christian scientists than Atheists", that depends on your study. At best the number of Theist Scientists (which includes all religions as well as Deism and Pantheism) is about 50 percent. That would mean the remaining 50 percent are either Atheist or Agnostic/Unconcern ed. But honestly, that is a number which is almost impossible to pin down. Francis Collins is an Evangelical Christian who worked on the Human Genome Project who says that based on evidence the concept of Biblical Creation is false, merely poetic literature. Sure, he supports Theistic Evolution but all that does is harken back to a first cause argument/discussio n. But I see no sense in naming a laundry list of great scientists as I fail to see how it disputes what I said to begin with. As for "show you proof" that debunks the supernatural, well I honestly don't have any. This is because it's a null position. I also have no proof that garden fairies, leprechauns, or a Russell's teapot don't exist, but I find no reason to assume they do either. Science is a natural disciple and thusly can not prove or disprove supernatural events. If it could prove ghosts are real it then ghosts would cease to be seen as "beyond natural". The burden of proof lies on those making the positive claim. If you claim there is proof (hard demonstrable evidence) of the supernatural then I would be happy to see it.  (Sep 5, 2014 | post #10)

Who All Will Jesus Send To He11?

Telling someone not to believe in myths is no more a claim to having enlightenment than telling a schizophrenic person that the flying pink elephants are not real is. If you want to be "enlightened " then search away, but for the sake if honesty don't just make up a story and be satisfied.  (Jun 20, 2014 | post #73)

Not everything, just more than most of you HillJacks. It's called research and education. Also I took the Bibles advice and stopped believing in imaginary friends and fairy tales. (1Cor 13:11)  (Jun 20, 2014 | post #69)

I never said that an Arabic Jew named Jesus (Yesuwha) didn't exist. I said the Demigod/Godman Jesus didn't exist. Big difference. Sorta like Abraham Lincoln existed, just not Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter.  (Jun 18, 2014 | post #67)

Hating Jesus (the Demigod Religious figure) would be as useful as hating Santa, the Easter Bunny, the Loch Ness Monster or pixies, pointless since they are not real.  (Jun 17, 2014 | post #65)

As PT Barnam once said, "There's a sucker born every minute". Christianity, and all other religions, prove that fact every single day.  (Jun 17, 2014 | post #58)

Just saying that even the bible says God can't stop iron chariots. Figure I will get myself one and I should be ok.  (Jun 15, 2014 | post #36)

Judges 1:19 KJV And the LORD was with Judah; and he drave out the inhabitants of the mountain; but could not drive out the inhabitants of the valley, because they had chariots of iron. Sounds like failure to me. A God so strong he could not beat iron chariots.  (Jun 14, 2014 | post #33)
