Silent Bob7 Profile
The thing I am wondering about is just exactly how did that guy have his life "Ruined" by you guys anyway? Is the entire town of Blairsville on TOPIX or what? People that know me in my home town have never even heard of TOPIX! I am not grasping the impact of the libel attacks on his real life. (Mar 25, 2012 | post #102)
This must be the right one. Say, you guys are getting famous now! I saw the episode last night too. Interesting that libel/defamation cases can be tried by zeroing in on your IP addy, even if you like to post random names with no account. So where is that REAL Mountainman? (Mar 24, 2012 | post #76)
They are already starting to ban this in the elite tourneys. I am going to rig one when I can afford it, or make one. Jeeze, they run around 50 bucks counting the cost of the lures, plus you need fifty lb braided line so you can retrieve it with a hang up. It is considered a Fall pattern too so it is not clear how this will perform in different conditions. This will be interesting to follow. (Mar 6, 2012 | post #2)
LOL, right? No kidding! (Mar 5, 2012 | post #4)
Good F***ing God are you kidding me? Comparing Rush Limbaugh with Harry Truman or John Ashcroft is like comparing Abraham Lincoln to Howard Stern! Famous people busts from Missouri, aye? Let's add Belle Starr, James Earl Ray and Jesse James while we are at it too! Talking heads of fame! Jeezus! (Mar 5, 2012 | post #3)
I lived in Riverview for several years myself and I don't miss that traffic in Tampa at all! I moved to Arkansas (which I love dearly) but I do miss Sweetbay Supermarket! I always thought that Sweetbay was superior to Publix in every way (even price), and it is probably my all time favorite grocery store. I miss taking my grandchildren to see the Manatees at Apollo Beach too! (Feb 14, 2012 | post #12)
I have seen that movie so many times that I can say most of the lines before the actors do lol. BTW they also mention "calling a friend in the FBI" in "Springfield ". I always took that as a "Springfield, Missouri" reference too. The fight between Dalton and Jimmy at the end is an epic one, but may go down in cinematic history as containing one of the cheesiest lines ever! "I used to F**k guys like you in prison"! OMG I still laugh my ass off when he says that! (Dec 3, 2011 | post #20)
Nope. No DD in Jasper Mo, today (Jasper has never had a bar that cool, either). The article from 2008 on this thread tells the story very well I think. Unfortunately Jasper now has a population hovering around 900 people and is not a hot business center anymore (as explained in the article) so there is little hope of one in the future either ;-( (Dec 3, 2011 | post #19)
Holy Cow! That is amazing. Unfortunately I am not the expert you are looking for, Rocky, but this is astonishing nevertheless. I bet you have some very valuable stuff there! Cutty Sark only started in the 1920s so you may have some of the earliest bottles! I do have concerns for the champagne though - have the corks dried out? Storage conditions may have ruined them buy the whisky may still be good. I am only curious, did you find other items in the room as well, such as antique gambling devices? This is very interesting! Definitely make a photographic and film record of this. Stay away from Pawn Stars LOL, but you might make it on another History Channel or Travel Channel show! (Oct 22, 2011 | post #3)
Wow, yea - I read that article too. Kate totally slammed Georgia Moon but got big wood from Woodinville (pun intended, on a couple of levels). Is there really that big of difference between them? I guess I need to try some of the white dogs and get an opinion myself. I love whiskey/whiskey but have never tried it without that oak or oak & smoke taste. (Oct 22, 2011 | post #3)
Go talk to people on Facebook http://www.faceboo k.com/larussellpum p (The Pump). I bet they could help you out. I am out of state and have my old photos in storage or else I could help. My Great Aunt was Ardith Bowers, BTW, part of the family who built & ran that old mill on Spring River. They just had a Bowers Mill & La Russell reunion too a week or so ago, I saw on Facebook. Wow, unbelieveable! I have nightmares about that happening. Thanks for the post and I am sincerely sorry that you had to deal with that bullshit. You are NOT a child molester and don't let a "fuck up" with the justice system change the person that you really are. Truth rules in the end. (Sep 12, 2010 | post #26)
Good riddance. By suicide he saved hundreds of thousands of dollars in prison costs for his life sentence - probably the only thing this guy ever did of value to anyone. (Aug 21, 2010 | post #3)
Q & A with Silent Bob7
a Jedi craves not these things
the sunny side of Jokersville
the beach & the bay (obviously I don't live near my hometown).
I Belong To:
muddy river waters, raging storms, and my sexy wife.
When I'm Not on Topix:
I am an Internet Clown, and in RL a Beach Bum & goof-off (a little like Friedrich Nietzsche, for example, not as smart but much more polite.)
Read My Forum Posts Because:
you can laugh with me or at me, it's all good!
I'm Listening To:
Brad Paisley & Johann S. Bach
Read This Book:
The Tao of Pooh by Benjamin Hoff
The smell of sweet hardwood smoke & a beef brisket and the feel of a lunker fish when you set the hook.
On My Mind:
I ALWAYS think about everything but what I should be thinking about. That is the axiom of Silent Bob7.
I Believe In:
Everything and nothing. I have my own life philosophy-belief system that resembles a cross between Pantheism and the school of Zen in MahÄyÄna Buddhism. Just think of that line from the Matrix: "There is no spoon!" and that's me. Everyone has to believe in something, even if it is nothing or everything!
