Slaphappy, thanks for revealing your sheeple nature by your cowardice in the face of horrible atrocities. "When the call is made for those who will be on the Lord’s side to make a decided move to vindicate the right, they will manifest their true position. Those who have been nearly all their lives controlled by a spirit as foreign to the Spirit of God as was Achan’s will be very passive when the time comes for decided action on the part of all. They will not claim to be on either side. The power of Satan has so long held them that they seem blinded and have no inclination to stand in defense of right. If they do not take a determined course on the wrong side, it is not because they have a clear sense of the right, but because they dare not. "God will not be trifled with. It is in the time of conflict that the true colors should be fling to the breeze. It is then that the standard-bearers need to be firm and let their true position be known. It is then that the skill of every true soldier for the right is tested. Shirkers can never wear the laurels of victory. Those who are true and loyal will not conceal the fact, but will put heart and might into the work, and venture their all in the struggle, let the battle turn as it will. God is a sin-hating God. And those who encourage the sinner, saying, It is well with thee, God will curse." 3T 272. "If God abhors one sin above another, of which His people are guilty, it is doing nothing in case of an emergency. Indifference and neutrality in a religious crisis is regarded of God as a grievous crime and equal to the very worst type of hostility against God." 3T 281.  (13 hrs ago | post #300)

God allowed False Prophecy of 1844

Your link says of that passage that its interpretation is "difficult for any theological position." So if you're not clear about prophecy, then stop pretending that you know something.  (Monday | post #22)

Isaiah is talking about God. Also, "The Fire that Consumes" is an excellent book by Edward Fudge that examines the Scriptures that you insist on making allegorical.  (Monday | post #277)

Then start by explaining Matthew 24:34, which I have already quoted. “Truly I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place.”  (Monday May 20 | post #18)

Are the Seventh-day Adventist really singing "Heaven Can ...

The three words, "Heaven Can Wait" doesn't really communicate anything so what's the point of having an entire website devoted to those 3 words? Besides, you already posted about this stupidity and already gave a link to your empty website. http://www.topix.c om/forum/religion/ seventh-day-advent ist/TTO0QTRLUV63N0 5FE  (Monday May 20 | post #2)

Isaiah teaches very clearly that the wicked can't survive unquenchable fire. You teach the opposite. Who is right?  (Monday May 20 | post #258)

Isaiah is explaining why sinners in Zion are terrified. "God is a consuming fire." Those sinners have no fear of any eternal fire that is separate from God. From this point forward in Scripture, eternal fire is used as strong language that symbolizes absolute and inescapable destruction. In Christ's teachings, there is no hope for the eventual restoration of the wicked. Eternal punishment is a punishment that will last forever. Notice also that nothing is said in Isaiah about eternal conscious torment. The consequence of eternal fire is a permanent, unceasing death. The wicked being destroyed forever is an eternal punishment. It seems that you haven't noticed the two distinct descriptions in Scripture for the fate of the wicked. That's why you are in error. Traditional Christianity teaches that, for the sins of a brief earthly life, the wicked dead are tormented with fire and brimstone in an eternally burning hell and will continue to suffer this torture for all eternity. In general, this doctrine is supported by taking some verses of the Bible literally (Revelation 20:10, Jude 1:7, Luke 16:19-31, Isaiah 66:24, Isaiah 14:3-11) and other seemingly contrary verses in a symbolic or abstract sense (2 Thessalonians 1:9, Matthew 10:28, Ezekiel 18:20, Ecclesiastes 9:5-6,10, Daniel 12:2, John 5:28-29, John 11:12-14, Psalms 115:17, Psalms 49:12, Isaiah 33:14-15, Malachi 4:1,3). Seventh-day Adventists reverse the popular order of what is literal and not literal and conclude that there is no eternal conscious torment. The most indisputable point about unquenchable fire (Matthew 3:12) is that nothing but ashes remain (Malachi 4:3).  (Monday May 20 | post #257)

Christ has said plainly that the final punishment is comparable to receiving many blows or a few blows depending on a measure of the light we oppose. Luke 12 45 But suppose the servant says to himself, ‘My master is taking a long time in coming,’ and he then begins to beat the other servants, both men and women, and to eat and drink and get drunk. 46 The master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he is not aware of. He will cut him to pieces and assign him a place with the unbelievers. 47 “The servant who knows the master’s will and does not get ready or does not do what the master wants will be beaten with many blows. 48 But the one who does not know and does things deserving punishment will be beaten with few blows. From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be askedThe fire of God is unquenchable. But who can live in unquenchable fire? Isaiah wrote: The sinners in Zion are terrified; trembling grips the godless: "Who of us can dwell with the consuming fire? Who of us can dwell with everlasting burning?" He who walks righteously and speaks what is right, who rejects gain from extortion and keeps his hand from accepting bribes, who stops his ears against plots of murder and shuts his eyes against contemplating evil. Isaiah 33:14-15. NIV. Clearly therefore, only the righteous can dwell in the fire that burns forever. http://www.everyth ingimportant.org/S DA/viewtopic.php?f =4&t=1204  (Sunday May 19 | post #253)
