Luxury homes up for auction in Lakewood
I drive by these houses everyday. Contruction stopped a few months ago on them and about half are not finished. No way would I go to an auction and pay more then $400K for an unfinished house. This developer was crazy to think these houses would sell at anywhere near the original price. The auction prices are still over the market. (Friday Sep 26 | post #29)

If you call being killed on a freeway in an accident getting away with it then sure 1 of them got away with it. He paid the ultimate price for his crime though. Suspect #2 is awaiting trail. One of the suspects killed himself in San Diego drive a motorcycle on a freeway. He bought the motorcycle with cash. He had evidence on him of the robbery and the investigation led them to arrest the second suspect. So yes the have been caught. (May 15, 2008 | post #7)

Long Beach seriously needs more reasources to deal with this. They need leadership willing to commit to cleaining up these areas once and for all. Its not like this is a new problem in that area but it is getting out of hand. (May 15, 2008 | post #16)
No second graders are not always truthful, however there were several witnesses that gave the same description of the suspect that were not second graders. And if that suspect is spotted and able to be detained then it is the duty of law enforcement to detain the suspect and get a positive id from the victim and any as many witnesses as possible, especially when the crime is a violent felony. LBPD may have a reason why the left this guy out on the streets but it doesn't seem right to me. Being a law enforcement peron myself.... (May 15, 2008 | post #12)
