Dentist in Costa Rica

Interesting when I was first doing my research on overseas dentists it appeared all the Aussies & Kiwis were going to Thailand for their major dentistry. Didn't hear a lot of praise for the dentist's from down under.  (Dec 1, 2014 | post #6558)

Hi Texas Diver, Thanks for the great report, isn't it amazing the care and concern the dentist show you in CR. Kinda reminds me of the U.S. dentists of 40 years ago. Now I can't find a stateside dentist I trust, always seems to be about up selling the patient these days not actually looking out what's best for the patient, IMHO.  (Nov 21, 2014 | post #6537)

Yes, everyone should realize food is not cheap in CR, I stick to the sodas (cafes) and hit Walmart and stock up. There are some decent restaurants there but they are pricier than stateside. On the upside isn't nice to find a Dentist thats not trying to separate you from as much of your money as possible and actually cares about your health and not their bottom line. I've pretty much given up on trying to find that combo in the states. Good luck on your adventures down there, I'm sure you will be happy with the results..  (Oct 29, 2014 | post #6447)

Sorry everyone, just wanted to throw in my "dos centavos" Who cares about the judge it icons, I really never even pay attention to them when I read a post. Yes it's juvenile and mean spirited but really, who cares. I also fail to see any causal connection between how busy a certain clinic is and the quality of their work. I would venture to guess a Bentley show room has less traffic than a Ford dealership, doesn't speak to the quality of either vehicle. I drive a Ford, very happy with it, don't know even if I had the money I'd drive a Bentley (unless they start making pickups) I don't begrudge the guy next to me in the Bentley, he also is very happy with his purchase. Sorry to be off on a tangent just seems the forum has gotten away from real experiences and into petty bickering. By the way Chicago Dave, excellent blog, I can appreciate the time and effort that goes into doing something like that, so kudos.  (Oct 25, 2014 | post #6425)

Hello everyone, If you are staying in Escazu area there is a bed and breakfast called Casa Cristal, It is run by a nice Cuban couple from Miami. Check them out on trip advisor website great reviews. I've stayed there several times with my significant other, always had a great stay.  (Oct 8, 2014 | post #6394)

Amen, and my apologizes for my posts, just trying to get the facts, and possibly call people out on their quite obvious agendas.  (Sep 14, 2014 | post #6332)

Actually you are wrong, There is Dr. Marco A. Munoz Cavallini, the father and founder of the clinic and Dr. Marco A. Munoz Peralta, the son who most often does the treatment plans, he is referred to by everyone including the staff as " Dr. Marco" Any one who has actually been to the clinic would know this. There is no Dr. Mario that I'm aware of, but lets not let the truth get in the way of a good story.  (Sep 14, 2014 | post #6331)

To The sensible 1, Can you please maintain a consistent IP address even if you are cloning it to hide your actual location. So far today you have posted from, Georgia, The UK, Costa Rica and again from Georgia. Makes a person kinda wonder about your authenticity, just saying.  (Sep 14, 2014 | post #6325)

Can we please get it right it's DR. Marco, not Mario. If you are accusing someone of shilling at least get the name of the person you think they are shilling for correct. No dog in this fight just like to things done accurately..  (Sep 14, 2014 | post #6324)

Hey Bobrw1, I'm confused, you are in Cancun (assuming Mexico, unless there is another Cancun) getting evaluated for dental work. Just wondering how you went from considering Costa Rica to Mexico. Was it price, proximity, ease of travel or good reference to a clinic down there ? Inquiring minds want to know. Sorry to hear about the harassment it is in no way indicative of your average poster on this board.  (Sep 3, 2014 | post #6270)

Hey Sam, Lighten up a little or please read the subsequent post from RJ where he indeed clarifies and even apologizes for what was an unfortunate choice of words. Sure he likes his dentist, as well he should, he seems extremely happy with the outcome. I've never seen him go after any other dentists in a negative way through virtually all his posts in this forum. I've had a habit of calling people out when they try to post anything negative thats just hearsay and not an actual personal experience or actual fact. I know success brings out the haters but really don't feel that was the true intent of RJ's post.  (Jul 23, 2014 | post #5966)
