2012 Presidential Election

Revenge Voting? Hell Yea

he sat motionless as he glared out the window. the front lawn and streets were covered with a fresh dusting of snow. still they would not leave he thought. he glanced at his watch. it was the kind of watch that only a wealthy man could afford. smooth and silent as the hands glided effortlessly around and around. he sniffed then puckered his lips. it was time for his flight. sunny beaches and delicious cocktails awaited him. tropical breezes and beautiful sunsets. i should just resign he mused. who would blame him. who would care. just then a light knock at the door. "enter" he said. sir, we've just received word that there's been a bombing. several killed. the press will want a statement. "dammit" he muttered under his breath. "just issue the standard statement. very concerned at the loss of life. investigating who did it. working around the clock. the usual crap" yessir the aide replied. "and tell my driver to get a move on. i can't be late for my vacation. i've about had it with these people and their whining" yessir the aide replied. once again he glared at the protesters. they want this, and they want that he thought. i'd like to hose them all down and watch them freeze. that would teach them to protest me. he lit a cigarette and inhaled deeply. smoke curled around his head as he glared.  (Feb 24, 2013 | post #6575)

Lufkin dad wants adults held responsible for teen drinkin...

i thought it was a crime to serve alcohol to underage people. why do we even punish any alcohol related incident? nothing wrong with alcohol. our government gets money from it. cigarettes too. i think all children should be required to drink and smoke so we can have lower healthcare costs. nobody cared 50 years ago and things were just fine. now everything is a crime and look at the mess we have. pretty soon, there will be a law regulating every single thing we do. already the mayor in new york wants to make it illegal to sell larger than 16 oz sodas. it's no fun being in this country now. high schools have police walking the halls. kids are treated like criminals. is it any wonder they grow up with problems?  (Jun 8, 2012 | post #1)

5 Pieces of Tsunami Debris Found

not to worry. the economy is about to fall apart. cost of living won't be an issue, just living will be the challenge. as it looks more like the current leader is out, things will improve, but once the reality sets in, people will become depressed and the chaos will set in. millions of people who were depending on public sector retirement checks will have nothing. then private investments will lose value with falling stock prices and further downgrades in government credit ratings. cities will default on their municipal bonds, leaving investors with nothing. states will begin thinking about breaking away from the nation. martial law imposed, and dusk to dawn curfews are common. or i could be wrong and happy days are here again :)  (Jun 8, 2012 | post #2)

Young adults skip health care as medical debts rise

if insurance was banned, prices would drop. it's like a lottery. people throw good money into a pot every month, and the medical industry tries to grab as much as they can. i went to the doctor once and the nurse noticed that my blood pressure had dropped from the last time i was there, said that can't be right and just wrote down a higher number. said everyone needs to be on some kind of prescription medicine. i wasn't impressed, but i think they get kickbacks from the drug companies for prescribing this or that. it's ironic in this country, we kill babies on the front end of life, then try to milk every dime out of folks on the back end of life. all those killed babies since 1973 could have grown into working adults, paying into the system. legalized abortion was the worst decision ever. don't want a baby? don't have sex. want a baby? go for it. what kind of society do we have where mother's kill their own children? i say when it's time for an abortion, it's a two for one special. baby goes, so does mom.  (Jun 8, 2012 | post #5)

Disgusted with the drop in his Facebook shares, Thor, the mighty god of thunder raised up his hand and sent forth lightning bolts and great thunder to punisj the mortals who caused him much financial pain. Setting fire to their land, Thor laughed at their efforts to stop him. "Let them try" he said. As my shares continue to drop, so shall lightning bolts from my fist of anger! Suddenly, there was a know on the door. Thor peeked out the window. Zeus! What the heck does he want? Probably wants to borrow more sugar. Thor considered not opening the door, but Zeus owed him. "Hi Zeus, long time no see" said Thor. Zeus motioned as if he wanted to come in. Thor stood his ground. Zeus seemed hurt. "Yeah" said Zeus. "I lost a snoopload of money in that Facebook IPO". Thor almost felt sympathy, but his sympathy thrued to rage as he let forth more lightning bolts. This time striking Los Angeles, New Work and Las Vegas. He had nothing against Las Vegas, he just liked to mess with them. "Come on in Zeus" said Thor, "I'll pour some drinks". Once inside, Zeus couldn't help but notice the post surroundings. "Nice flat screen". "Yeah I had it installed right after I cashed in on the GM stock uptick". Zeus grew cold. He had lost everything in the GM fiasco. "I see. I had lots invested in GM. When it crashed, I lost my shirt". Thor commented snidely, "Yeah you win some you lose some".  (Jun 2, 2012 | post #4)

Target sells shirts to help pro-gay marriage group

"Where's my coffee!?" Bill shouted. With hurried footsteps, James scurried off to the kitchen. Bill was never much of a morning person. A night-owl by nature, his late night online chat sessions, and now his obsession with ustream broadcasts from occupy clashes were starting to wear him out. Morning came early in the Bill and James household. Bill had a job. A good job, working down at city hall. Bill stamped marriage licenses with the city's rubber stamp of approval. How he hated that stamp. It's red rubber and red ink mocked him. But it mocked no more! When he heard that same-sex marriage was sanctioned in his state, Bill grabbed James and ran to the alter. A few quick lines, and voila they were married. James had always wished for more. He had plans to attend cooking school at the prestigious Kate and Sams' School of Home Cookin, but he ran out of money before he ran out of classes. Now he resigned himself to making coffee and scrambled eggs for Bill. At first he was happy to do it. Happily married you might say, but as Bill grew angrier and his love waned, James spent his days watching tv shows and doing laundry. Laundry. A chef doing laundry instead of baking fluffy deserts and delicious pies. James hung his head and silently cried. His tears made the coffee stains spread. "Gasp!" thought James! This will make Bill angrier than before. Grabbing the stain eraser, James noticed that it was toxic. For a brief moment, James fancied adding some of this to Bills coffee. Just a little he thought. He would never notice. I could blame the detergent, or the water. Shocked with his thoughts, James threw the stain eraser to the floor. "WHERE'S MY STINKING COFFEE??!?!" screamed Bill. The framed artwork from Target rattled on the walls. Target. It used to be such a happy place to shop. I met Bill there he thought. We were both buying those shirts. The ones meant to help the gay organizations. James poured the coffee into one cup. Bill never liked to drink coffee with James. James was going to be a chef, in happier times.  (Jun 2, 2012 | post #16)

i think we are just afraid of the inevitable changes coming to our lifestyles. we want the best but are unwilling to pay for it. we want the good life at a bargain price. how can this be? who will pay the salaries? where will it come from? not from credit cards. Not from loans. as we import cheap products, we import a much much lower standard of living. alas, it is to be expected  (Jul 12, 2011 | post #242)

why so angry i wonder? a life without love brings hatred that is insatiable. dysfunctional families supported by oil money. the middle-east is awash in easy money. this is what happens when the state pays familes without the need to work. we see it here in our country. the best thing we can do for the middle-east is stop sending money. drill baby drill. we need to let them emerge from their welfare state.  (Jul 11, 2011 | post #246)

US Politics

Barack Obama, our next President

cough-cough oohhhhhhh my head with a hangover bigger than life itself, he work at 3pm the day after the election "what happened last night" he said aloud.. his apartment was a mess. paper hats and noise makers strewn about. beer cans and champagne bottle scattered on the floor. as he shuffled to the bathroom, they made horrible noises. at this point any sound was too much to bear.. reaching for the knob, he realized it was locked. "huh" he thought. i live alone. with a gentle knock, so as not to upset his angry head, he whispered, "ummm is there someone in there?" ohhhhhhhhh my head he heard.. followed by a familiar sound which i will not illustrate.. "are you ok in there? will you live?" ohhhhhhhhhh i think so came the small voice from behind the door. it was a women. "gasp" he said. what is a woman doing here, and who is she? not able to stand, he sat by the door, holding his head in his hands. after what seemed an eternity, he heard the lock turn. as the door opened, he got his first glimpse... "hillary? is that you?!?" ohhhh stop shouting she said. nobody wants to hear it. what is hillary doing in my apartment he wondered. "bill go make coffee" she said. that cheap booze is making me sick. "uhhhh yes dear said the former president" knock-knock bill shuffled to the door. looking through the peep-eye, he saw a familiar face. "oh snap, it's al" "don't answer it bill, he'll want to stay and talk about that danged global warming, and to be honest i wish he'd just shut up about it" hillary had just lost her bid to become the next president. beaten by a slim margin to her rival, there was nothing to do but drink coffee between runs to the bathroom. losing to her was insult enough, but now she had to deal with bill and the cheap booze all in one morning. nobody expected it really. a last minute nominee by the tea party. at least she would bring some dazzle to the office. lord knows we need it. later that day, the world watched in stunned admiration as brittney spears, singer, songwriter and dancer was sworn in as president. never before had so many dancers been assembled in one place on such a cold day. if nothing else, the nation could look forward to four years of revealing wardrobes, big hair, and highly entertaining state of the union addresses. america is back baby. now that's hat i'm talkin bout.  (Jul 11, 2011 | post #391197)
