Probably the best unknown vocalist (with Chicago for 28 years) is also a multi-instrumental ist who plays piano, Hammond B3, rhythm guitar, acoustic guitar, and is also a songwriter. I’ve been a fan of Bill Champlin since the Sons of Champlin played the Fillmore West in 1970! He is truly a musician’s musician. Now that he’s finally left the band Chicago, he is doing a solo tour to support his solo release, called “No Place Left to Fall”. Just want to say how much I LOVE my Reunion Blues Continental Guitar Case!

I have to tell you about this RB Continental guitar case I recently bought. It's pretty amazing. I can literally pack everything I need for an overnight night gig in this case and not even need any other luggage. I was traveling to Grand Junction, CO from San Francisco for a gig. I arrived at the US Airways baggage check-in in Oakland and (reluctantly) handed over my RB Continental case, with an Epiphone Dot Studio guitar inside, to the airline. The flight there was about the worst ever, the turbulence was scary as there were storms lined up the whole way. Then, if that wasn't enough, I had to hop on a 2 propeller prop job for the final leg to GJ. It had been a number of years since I'd had the pleasure to fly on one of those and I'd forgotten just how much "fun" they can be. Upon landing I headed to baggage claim. Here comes my RB case down the carousel - with nervous anticipation I slowly opened the case and voila! There was the Dot in perfect condition. Not a scratch, dent, ding or blemish of any kind. Truly amazing. In fact Reunion Blues even threw this case off of a 3 story building (http://bit.ly/4zf hQ8). If your guitar has to be subjected to the whim and whimsy of airline baggage handlers you can at least have some peace of mind knowing that it's ensconced safely in a killer case. It's the only case I'll ever need, they last forever and the RB Continental won’t break the bank either! Call your local Guitar Center to see if they have it in stock (they sell out fast!). Has anyone heard the new Bill Champlin album "No Place Left To Fall?

His solo music is fantastic! I got turned onto his music when I went to see Chicago recently (he just left the band after 28 years to pursue his solo career). Guess he’s been around a while as I found out that he co-wrote (and won a Grammies for…) “After the Love is Gone” by Earth, Wind & Fire and “Turn Your Love Around” by George Benson – 2 amazing songs. I didn't want to wait for the CD/DVD to come out, the downloads came first, so I downloaded "Look Away" and "Looking For You" both are fantastic –here’s the link - iTunes Don’t just take my word for it; there are a plethora of exceptional reviews floating around. Check out this Amazon review that truly hits the nail on the head: “…No Place Left To Fall is overflowing with inspired, inspiring, insightful, imaginative, intelligent and infectiously fun, funky, soulful, heartfelt tunes. The lyrics, melodies, vocals and musicianship are exceptional, as was expected from this master of music, Bill Champlin…” The CD/DVD just came out, I ordered it at BillChamplin.net – it was only $14.98 and the DVD is a documentary on the making of the album – which is very nicely done.
