Long Beach's Lannan blanks heartless Mets, 4-0

The problem now is the fact that the injuries give the clown Minaya another year to be judged. If the team would have been healthy and choked again this year it would have been all over for him. They were only a .500 team when thay were healthy this year. I'll start watching again in 2011.  (Jul 22, 2009 | post #80)

Mets shut out and Sheffield injures leg

Wright has done nothing since Beltran went down. Pujols has a very week offense around him and look at his numbers. Wright has been awful at the plate and at 3rd base.  (Jul 18, 2009 | post #85)

Mets shut out and Sheffield injures leg

I think what we're all seeing through all of this mess is that David Wright isn't capable of carrying a team which to me makes him most dispensible of the three core players. His defense has also stunk. 3rd base is easier to replace than CF or SS.  (Jul 18, 2009 | post #29)

John Franco still has high hopes for Mets

Franco is a moron if he believes that all they need is their injured players to come back. First of all, they're not coming back in time to save anything. Second, with a dope like Manuel as the mgr the team is done. He and Minaya have to go.  (Jul 18, 2009 | post #15)

Mets' shaky Perez staggers 5 innings but gets win

I'm a mets fan but Phanfan speaks the truth. I think it's hysterical how all of you morons take him so seriously. It's kind of like the venom that's always spewed at Wally Matthews. All you Mets fans take his columns so seriously. Grow up and talk sports.  (Jul 10, 2009 | post #67)

Call Jays and make an offer for Halladay

Why can't we offer Wright or Reyes as part of the deal with some minor league players. that should make up for the lack of prospects. If we trade Wright We can work out a deal to include Rolen coming here.  (Jul 8, 2009 | post #7)

Dodgers dominate Mets amid boos at Citi Field

Let's face it, Minaya is 100% to blame for this mess. An organization needs to be prepared for the worst case scenario. We had garbage, other than Cora on the bench and not one decent player in the minors to bring up. Other teams have injuries and don't look as bad as this. Luis Castillo has to go. He is a non player. He leads off the 1st and looks at 3 fast balls down the middle and never takes the bat off hiss shoulder. that error was a disgrace and show that he doesn't give a **** . Just release him and Tatis and bring up whatever garbage we have in the minors to take their place. One other thing, Uncle Jerry has to go. He's lost this team.  (Jul 8, 2009 | post #52)

Reeling Mets look to Perez, Pagan, Niese for help

If they want to break up the core the guy to trade is Wright. I don't care what anyone says, the guy isn't clutch and he's a terrible third baseman. He already has 12 errors this season and a number of his bad throws have led to losses this season and last. If they keep him he should play first base next year and they should sign another player for third. unfortunately all of us calling for Minaya's head will fall on deaf ears. he has three years left on his contract. We have a better chance of getting Manuel out of here which also needs to be done. if it were up to me it would happen sooner than later.  (Jul 7, 2009 | post #17)

Adding Seaver, Gooden wouldn't help if Mets can't execute

I was at the game Saturday and am embarrassed to say this is my team. The fans were laughing at the mets and the stadium was very quietmost of the time because the Mets were noncompetitive. These are still pros and play worse than a little leage team. This is a gutless group without any pride. The manager has to go. He has lost them. Minaya won't go since he has three years remaining on his deal and the Wilpons are too cheap to pay a guy that they fired. We have a mess here folks.  (Jul 5, 2009 | post #8)

Cora's hit ruined a memorable evening

You can possibly blame the poor offense on all of the injuries but they're also losing because of terrible defense, base running and all around poor fundamental baseball. that I blame on the always jovial mgr and his band of clowns he called coaches.  (Jun 29, 2009 | post #29)

Shorthanded Mets band together to beat Cardinals

Last night one of the worst players in the majors (Tatis) got thrown out at third for the final out of an inning thus ending a rally. The day before Valdez did the same thing. i've seen this happen numerous times this season. This is just one example of how bad manuel is at teaching the simplest fundamentals of the game. Maybe it's just Minaya's fault for signing clueless players.  (Jun 23, 2009 | post #52)
