Dr. Wheeler is a great surgeon. The problem is that the majority of his patients and patients in this area are obese and don't take care of themselves and have a multitude of comorbidities. Its easy to place blame when outcomes aren't the best. However each patient needs to take some personal responsibility for their own health. It's very easy to place blame, no one wants to admit that it may be their own fault. The majority of the time your current state of health is a direct result of the lifestyle that you live. Surgeons aren't Gods, they can't always fix everything. Some surgeons will turn down a patient because of poor health status. They don't see any reason in tarnishing their good name by taking on the risk. Are these surgeons great because of positive outcomes or cowards because they never take on a difficult case??? What I do know is that Dr Wheeler is a great surgeon and offers his patients the best scenario for a positive outcome.  (Nov 6, 2012 | post #27)

I'm Scott Shaffer. I cancelled my membership because of that BS. I have no problem with letting them know who I am. It's a discussion board. The discussion was about the gym and if it was a good gym. I shouldn't have to tell a business owner that acting like a three year old and having temper tantrums isn't good for business. It's common business sense when your in the service industry. I promise, fear is not a problem that I have.  (Oct 10, 2012 | post #144)
