Anyone know anything about Dr. Mark Sherfey?

Dr Sherfey. Is the worlds greatest Dr. He tries to work with women's hormones in a natural way. He is very family orentied and cares about a close husband and wife relationship. I have seen I'm for 15 years and he listened to me and has done medical tests that found things that other M.D. don't have a clue about. I can't say enough good about him. He deserves a prize in medicine.  (Aug 19, 2017 | post #13)

Where to find a good Dermatologist

Can anyone recommend a good dermatologist? One that would be up todate with skin conditions? Also one that listens? Thanks for any suggestions. SE  (Jul 12, 2010 | post #1)

How to find out what type of mite you have

Vizzo, Is there a chance I could call or send you my number? I really need help with identifying these. From my searches if I don't use the correct pesticide then it is not going to do anything. I don't think our county extension agent will help much or even some of the people at the state because I was so much trouble with the powder post beetles. Someone did come to the house and immediately started taking pictures and sending them to someone in Nashville. It will be much harder to get accurate samples of a mite since they are so small. We tried once and they said it was said seed. I am almost sure we are going to have to fumigate since our furniture has powder post beetles. But if we don't knowk what type of mite we have I don't know how we can control it from happening again. We do have mice and lots of other wildlife that we never had any place we lived. I am close to a lake and the Smokey Mts. Our land use to be a dairy farm. When it rains we have tons of insects on our porches. I don't mind if they don't eat my house or me. Please help. Does Permethrin even work?!

I got desperate enough to use Hartz dog flea and lice powder. I think it is kind of toxic so I am not doing that again but it might be good to use to dust something like a mattress with. Seems like I read on here that mixing it with something else worked for upholstery. Wellness wishes, Sandy  (Jul 3, 2010 | post #154)

Kwell does it work?

I think this is what my MD said he would call in for me today. I know that there are so many evil insects in our house that I have to fix this or noting will keep my skin better. I just wondered if this kwell works? Sorry I am posting so much but our computers were messed up and now I got more to catch up on. Sandy  (Jul 3, 2010 | post #1)

Fungus that looks ringworm

I had three different Drs tell me that these rings on my legs was from a fungus. One was a surgeon that did my cancer surgery and he made me a appt with a dermatologist. She said it was a age thing. My MD is not set up to do any skin test he but he says it is fungal because it is clear in the middle. It looks like ringworm but instead of having a red ring is it a brown outline. It is not a perfect circle and in places more than one will connect. I am gun shy of trying any new derma doc since the one I saw said the crawling prickly feeling was delusional. Boy I would like to take her some of my hair that has all those googy white things. I didn't even know I had them in my hair until I tried to use a nit comb. But does anyone have any idea what type of fungal thing this could be? I have done all kinds of searches and never saw anything like it. Sandy  (Jul 3, 2010 | post #1)

Different insecticides for different mites

I realize that most people would rather not use a pesticide. I would not use one if I were not in so much misery. One thing it seems like when I did searches on the different mites (since I don't know which one we have) most of the time it is a different chemical for different mites. So I have been using the wrong one. Plus how do you ever treat a house when these things are all over even in things that are just stored like boxes of pictures, quilts, I even see them in the lamp shades. I have to watch about any food out on the counter that is not covered. I have seen some get inside the refregator that I guess was on a jar or jug of milk that was out long enough to use. These have just taken over. I don't see them move all except some on the windows that are not clover mites and I did see a fast moving red mite the other night. I tried to memorize what it looked like and it had some legs out front of its body as it ran. I have not seen one like this. Sandy  (Jul 3, 2010 | post #1)

Does anyone have more prickling and less itching?

When this started I had gotten out my winter clothes. Some were old barn clothes and they had some holes in them. I had never had even a moth hole. This is a new location for us and on a small horse farm. But anything I tried to wear I would feel things pricking me and things crawling. All I would see would be fuzz balls but these would be harder than normal fuzz balls. Since seeing fuzz balls was normal for clothes I didn't think much about it but later thought maybe they were some form of carpet beetle larvae since these had been ID by our state lab. Anyway from then on it has been prickling and this is almost like having a thorn stick. I keep clothes in totes and sometimes wash the same thing 4-5 times if I see anything. When I googled searches all I saw would be morgellons or delusional parasatosis. I didn't itch. So I have been stressed so much over this and I even went through cancer treatment and surgery and it didn't bother me as much as this. Only I had a temporary illestomy that was rough. I was afraid to mention pricking and crawling to any Drs and sure enought when I saw a dermatologist I was delsional. Anyone can see all these black specks all over our house. Did a wash down with Arm & Hammer

Jane, Thanks for the info. What is Scarguard? Can you buy this in a store or do you have to order it? Thanks, Sandy  (Jul 3, 2010 | post #3)

Fun With Ivermectin !!

When I google some of the different mites it seems that if I wanted to spray the house it would take a different insectcide for the different mites. There does not seem to be much info on mites like birdmmtes, or the rat ones, and humans. The places I find besides three that are human related. Can't remember them but I am sure you have seen them. The university ones don't seem to think that humans are as affected by these evil things. I think that the straw itch mite is one that is harder to get rid of. I am not the best reader but I think I read that correctly. I guess we are all struggling with different mites and I read that not just any entomoligist can ID mites and there is a name for a entomoligist that can do that. Will try and look that up if you have not already read it. Wishing you wellness. Sandy  (Jul 3, 2010 | post #42)

Fun With Ivermectin !!

I also wondered if anyone else had more pricking. I feel things pricking me and it started when I got out my winter clothes last fall. Some had holes but most of those were old barn clothes. Then almost anything I wore I would feel like things were crawling in them. I would see fuzz balls and thought those must be carpet beetle larvae that we had been identified by our state lab. But nothing helped with the clothes. Washing or even boiling would only make these fuzz balls harder and more rough feeling. I don't see many fuzz balls now but black specks the size of a dot. I was afraid to tell any Dr and I went through treatment for cancer and then surgery starting in the fall and through winter. I googled some of those symptoms and only got morgellons and I cannot believe that could be a problem when this is a almost new house and my clothes were a big problem. After I did see a dermatologist sure enough delusional parasotisis. That was the only other thing that google brought up. I don't itch unless I do some treatment that makes these evil things act up. Glad you posted this. Sandy  (Jul 3, 2010 | post #41)

Bathroom washdown with Arm & Hammer

Currently we are living in our sunroom and it continues from the kitchen. This is because our hardwood flooring had powder post beetles it was cabin grade. So we are in a mess with added mess from sawing new flooring and baseboards. I went to the bathroom to do a washdown. I had sprayed with two different pesticides on the walls and you could see some runsThat didn't matter because these evil insects are worse than painting. But when I sprayed this small bathroom there are alwasy black specks on the floors. Even when I clean from wall to wall. I started spraying the ceiling and walls and later went to take a bath and there were all kinds of insects in the tub. Some were even big that I don't have a clue where they came from unless it was the recessed lights. I did have to watch when I sprayed the electrical outlets. I was physically feeling bad but this gave me such a good feeling to see these evil things dead. It was short lived though. Now I am tryingt to see about cleaning the new hardwood with some of this mixture and drying it quickly so that I don't cup the new floors. So far it has not left anything like a white residue. Did a wash down with Arm & Hammer

Boy I got some of those suckers in my house. I know this was only temporary but the other day I had enough. I had to wait until my husband left for work. Mixed a scoop in a pump sprayer and started in the kitchen and sprayed ceiling, walls everything the sprayer would reach. Our house is just over two years old and I know the ceiling can't be wet much but it dried and you could not tell anything had been wet. The walls already have a few pesticide runs but the A&H just make a cleaner looking wall and you could barely see some runs. I have tile floors and they just dried. I could get over the window frames and things you could not see ran down. To be continued. I loved getting those suckers! Sandy  (Jul 3, 2010 | post #1)

How to find out what type of mite you have

would love to have help! I think we have more than one type. I have never felt anything like this. Everywhere you look you see some type of speck. Since we are living under a simi construction enviroment cleaning is harder. The other day I mixed a sprayer and just put a cup that was in the Arm & Hammer box and then water and sprayed the ceiling and walls in the area we are set up to live in. Tile floor and with all the water it just dried. Next went to the guest bathroom and I had sprayed it with Telstar and Ten Guard and still would see black specks on the floor. Later I went to take a bath and there were all kinds of bugs even big ones that had nothing to do with a mite. I LOVED IT! HA thought I had those suckers. Short lived though. I see some that are small red dots. I have a magnifier and a small miscrope and at times think I can make out ones that look tick like. Please any help I would pay for. How to find out what type of mite you have

Thanks for reminding me of the birdmites forum. I had forgotten about you mentioning that. Our extension agent is pretty worthless. While I was trying to get some insects identified when I had evidence of powder post beetles the agent would sometimes throw away samples I had collected. Some of the samples were sent to state labs and after two year of sending so manythings I hate to start on a new insect. But we did have a lot of things ID. What is meant by a enviromental mite? I think we have more than one kind because I see a red looking one that is not a clover mite and then a darker one that almost looks like a small tick. I saw black things in my hair but I could not tell what they were plus a lot of white balls. Now my neck and back are really hurting since I started on the hair. We are still in the process of getting the new flooring completed and then we may fumigate. I hate to spend that type of money after all this rework on the house. But the misery is so brutal. I could not believe all the nits in my hair and I didn't even feel them. I mostly feel prickly things. I have to ask about the sulfur. I have some garden sulfur and is it 99% pure sulfur and I have used it on occasions but the bag says not to get on clothes or skin. If it is almost all sulfur why would that be harmful? Thanks again for replying. Sandy  (Jun 28, 2010 | post #4)
