Amen to that! This is mainly true of appointed law enforcement leaders such as Chiefs of city PDs and Director of State agencies, like the DPS in AZ. They become impudent puppets of the politicians who hold the strings to their 6 digit incomes. If every local law enforcement agency tackled illegal immigration like the MCSO, we'd have this invasion from the south deterred in a few years. Oh stop now please, you're really scaring me with all the IA talk!!!! I worked a stint in IA and dirt bags like you when you had the balls to file a complaint were found to be bogus most of the time. Very little proof if any and if the accusation was serious you scattered like roaches exposed to light at the very mention of a polygraph. If you consider being corrected and rebuked with truth for your idiotic and unsupported claims against Sheriff Joe as "badgering " then so be it. The badgering will continue. So give it your best shot tough guy. As for my heritage, you dare to claim I'm not "Hispanic enough" due to my opposition of illegal immigration. I suppose USBP officers Ramos and Compean weren't "Hispanic enough" either, only because they were la migra! What a bigoted race monger you certainly have shown yourself to be. Here's a letter I sent my local newspaper addressing this very issue of not being Latino enough. ------------------ ------------------ ------------------ ------------- The recent commutation of former USBP agents Ignacio "Nacho" Ramos and Jose Compean's prison sentences reveals some interesting facts. Pro-illegal/open borders advocates scream that opposing their agenda is pure racism against Latinos/Hispanics. Some even claim "brown skin genocide". While those who oppose the invasion of illegals assert it's all about the rule of law and the protection of our nation. They vehemently deny racism plays any part in their stance. This case regarding Ramos and Compean clearly supports the later. The names "Ramos" and "Compean " are Latino. During their kangaroo trial it was the second group who were their most outspoken proponents. From conservative talk show hosts, to grass roots organizations to countless individuals, every American who cared about justice stood by these two Americans. For the millions who sent letters, emails, faxes and made phone calls on their behalf, ethnicity was never an issue nor the fact their skin color was brown. All that mattered was two brave law enforcement officers were subject to injustice by an over zealous federal prosecutor (who by the way is Anglo). The only skin color they saw was Red, White and Blue. Self-promoting pro-illegal groups such as La Raza, MEChA, LULAC, MALDEF, etc., became deaf and dumb of "two Latinos who were scapegoats by an Anglo". So why the silence?? Could it be Ramos and Compean weren't "Latino enough" because they were "La Migra"? Or maybe these two men represented the Thin Red Line against the flood of criminal aliens? In either case, those who flamboyantly cry for "justice and equality" fell mute when two honorable men were unjustly persecuted for defending themselves. Conversely, those who adamantly oppose illegal immigration have proven by words and deeds that racism IS NOT a factor in this debate. There's a few reasons why the feds are trying to ham string Sheriff Joe's ability to enforce illegal immigration laws. First of all it makes them look bad. The MCSO has deported more illegals than all ICE operations in the State of AZ, excluding the USBP at the border. I've dealt with countless big mouth "tough guys" like you whose biggest muscle is in your jaws. Per the USDOJ "Asylum and refugee applications are both adjudicated under the same legal standard––a well-founded fear of persecution based on at least one of five internationally recognized grounds: race, religion, nationality, membership in a particular social group, or political opinion" Even by the furthest stretch of the imagination, illegal aliens who are "only doing jobs Americans won't do" will never meet the criteria of a refugee. Why then the change in verbiage? Its obvious BO and his puppet Napolitano are slowly attempting to desensitize America's repulsion to criminal behavior and opposition to any kind of amnesty. This is no different than Napolitano's carefully selected words "Man caused Disasters" to describe terrorist activities. Take heed America. The liberals can slather all the make up in the world in a vain attempt to masquerade this ever growing threat to America's security and sovereignty. Regardless of how many beauty treatments Napolitano applies to this pig it will always smell of a pig! Maybe Napolitano should consider using some Cover Girl on herself instead. I informed you in another thread that if ICE refuses to pick illegals up from him, he'll transport them to the border and hand them over directly to the USBP. As of yesterday's crime suppression sweeps in the N/W part of the valley, ICE has been taking custody of illegals from the SO without incident. Hopefully this will continue but if they change policy I'll consider volunteering my services to transport them as either a reserve deputy or posse member.  (Oct 18, 2009 | post #8)

Oh quite the opposite my friend. The AZ legislature has passed numerous state laws which directly addresses illegal immigration/aliens . For example, we have our "Employer Sanctions Law", which requires all employers in the state to verify legal immigration of employee using E Verify. Then we have state laws which makes it a felony to smuggle human beings into the state. It not only targets the "coyotes " but also the illegal aliens themselves who are charged as co-conspirators to smuggle themselves. Let's not forget about AZ's law which requires proof of citizenship or legal immigration status before one can obtain any kind of taxpayer funded welfare/social assistance. We now have a much more stringent law which imposes harsh penalties for those convicted of ID theft. And I can go on and on.  (Oct 16, 2009 | post #361)

Sheriff Joe Arpaio is answerable to the citizens of Maricopa County who elected him into office. Joe doesn't answer to Chairman Obama nor to his butch enforcer Napolitano. Joe is limited in his power as our county's "top cop" according to the Constitutions of the USA and the State of AZ. As a resident of Maricopa County, the Sheriff's Office is in no way "repressing " any group of people, however they are removing and controlling the criminal element which includes illegal aliens. Let me provide you a little hard evidence directly linking illegal immigration with the huge increase in violent felony crimes. Here in Maricopa County, illegal aliens make up about 9% of the general population however they're responsible for nearly 22% of all serious felonious crimes committed. So you call the title of illegal alien a "convenient label" do you??? Tell me my not so bright friend what kinds of names should we attach to individuals who violate our nation's laws??? In my neck of the woods we call them "criminals ", and Webster's back us up on this. You act as if this out of control illegal immigration situation is an Anglo versus every other race issue. Typical idiots always pull the race card when attempting to defend an illogical position. Laws aren't enacted to control attitudes stupid, they're passed to control behaviors. Any moron with half a brain can figure this truth out without the help of a tutor. If any one's in denial, I'll have to say I'm addressing him. Illegal aliens, especially from Mexico not only pose threats to our culture but also to our national security, criminal justice system, public assistance programs and economic stability to name just a few. If you'd ever spent just a few hours with illegal aliens from Mexico, you'd leave with a greater understanding of what they truly believe, that the southwestern portion of the US really belongs to Mexico and as a result they're entitled to be here any way they want. They called it the Reconquesta, el stupido!!! In closing I happen to like coffee, strong, hot and black.
