Railroad Commissioner doesn't actually have anything to do with railroads... http://www.citgogr aybook.com/index_m oz.cfm?majorDiv=5 &detailDiv=70  (Oct 18, 2010 | post #98)

This is by far the most ignorant comment I've seen so far. And there have been some pretty stupid ones. Try telling the rest of the world that Islam isn't a religion and see how well that goes. As some said earlier, there's been more blood on the hands of Christians than Muslims.  (Oct 18, 2010 | post #1739)

The Republicans attack anyone and everyone who doesn't agree with them. The fact that you're making them out to be the good guys just goes to show how completely idiotic you are. Read the news sometime and then get back to me on the topic of name calling. And you're personally attacked plenty of people on here. And at least Bill White is willing to debate. Perry saying that he won't debate until White realizes tax information is BS. All of that information is public and Perry can get it anytime he wants.  (Oct 18, 2010 | post #1735)

There's a difference between the National Guard of the United States and the Texas Army National Guard. I'm referring to the Texas Army National Guard.  (Oct 15, 2010 | post #1120)

Your article was from Jan. 2007. This is as of Sept. 18, 2010. http://www.chron.c om/disp/story.mpl/ metropolitan/72067 14.html From the Homeland Security Secretary, Janet Napolitano.  (Oct 15, 2010 | post #1115)

Yes, he can. The National Guard isn't part of the Federal forces. It's part of the Texas Military Forces.  (Oct 15, 2010 | post #1102)

First, Wikipedia isn't a credible source. Anyone can change information on it. Second, the information on Wikipedia *mostly* (yes, I said mostly. Don't come back with specific points because no one's perfect) praises White. So I don't know what you mean by "what the guy did to Houston" White won his first mayoral election with 63% of the vote in a run-off. He won his second election with 91% of the vote. This isn't exactly the sign that the city didn't want him anymore. However, Perry only won the Republican primary this year with 51% of the vote, while White won the Democratic primary with 76%. Anyone every heard of "The Other 49%"? It's the Republicans that DON'T want Perry in office anymore.  (Oct 15, 2010 | post #1100)

To all this nonsense about Houston not wanting Bill White anymore...he was term limited. A policy enacted before he became Mayor.  (Oct 15, 2010 | post #1091)

Perry can call up the National Guard anytime he wants to protect the border. He just doesn't want to pay for it. He is Commander in Chief of the three branches of the Texas Military Forces and can deploy them just like the President does for the military. The former governor of Arizona called up the Arizona National Guard during both her terms to protect the border.  (Oct 15, 2010 | post #1085)

Yes, but they're not asking their citizens to show their papers too. And maybe I haven't made myself clear...I'm all for immigration reform and tighter border control. I just believe that there are better ways to go about it.  (Oct 15, 2010 | post #1079)

Okay...I will admit that I mis-spoke. What I meant to say is, that's the reason we were TRYING to kill Hitler.  (Oct 15, 2010 | post #1077)

For the same reason that sane Christians don't "join in the fight" against neo-Nazi Christians. One of the basic facts about Islam is that there are two major denominations...Su nni and Shi'a, with a bunch of smaller ones mixed in, like Sufi and Ahmadiyya. None of them denominations of Islam get along. At all. In some parts of the Middle East, the Sunni and Shi'a's have called civil war against each other. The Muslims that attacked on 9/11 were Sunni. The Muslim who wants to build the community center is Sufi. And there are plenty of moderate Muslims speaking out against the radicals, you just don't pay attention. And any other Muslims that aren't speaking out are afraid that if they do, people will still lump them in the same category as radicals. You obviously don't have any friends of the Muslim faith or know anything about it, otherwise you'd feel differently. They're not all bad people. Don't judge an entire faith based on the actions of a few.  (Oct 15, 2010 | post #1073)

You are possibly the most ignorant, small-minded person I've ever met. You don't just DEMAND that someone show you their papers. We have a right to privacy in this country and it's not your job to make sure I'm "illegal " or not. Unfortunately for you, I am an American born citizen and therefore will vote against your ignorant ass in the election this year.  (Oct 15, 2010 | post #1069)
