Gays and Lesbians Will Burn in Hell Forever!

Refute Matthew 16:19. It obsoletes your beliefs and confines it to you. As as the Bible is now a pick and choose kind of book (because surely you believe that you're going to burn in Hell because you eat hamburger and wear mixed thread fabrics and probably cut your hair for a funeral), I can choose to ignore that as Romans was written to a specific church, not a wider audience. Additionally, there's evidence to suggest that Paul (the alleged writer) was also gay, thus the reason he refused to marry.  (Aug 25, 2013 | post #31)

Gays and Lesbians Will Burn in Hell Forever!

Sodom was destroyed over a matter of hospitality. And really, Lot was just as bad because he offered up his daughters to protect his guests. That's a great father figure there.  (Aug 23, 2013 | post #29)

Actually, may I point out something? Matthew 16:19 (whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven) actually pretty much says that Leviticus 18:22 and 20:30, Romans 1:26-27 and 1 Corinthians 6:9 (and any others I might have missed) are not dictated by God, but rather by man. Meaning that the laws in Heaven are dictated by popular belief as opposed to God. On an individualistic level, it means if one chooses to believe that God doesn't care, then God doesn't care. So the proclamation that "Gay burn in hell" really have no effect to someone who believes that God cares not about what a person does sexually.  (Aug 23, 2013 | post #28)

I suggest you read Biological Exuberance by Bruce Bagemihl. And if you can't find it yourself, allow me to point out the Amazon page for the book, http://www.amazon. com/Biological-Exu berance-Homosexual ity-Diversity-Ston ewall/dp/031225377 X I'd give you a list of the mammals, but I think you're old enough to read on your own.  (Jul 13, 2013 | post #11)

Blog Post: How 'No-Kill' Fails Animals: The List Keeps Gr...

And therein lies the dogma. PETA calls for animal rights, and yet wants people to spay and neuter their animals. Okay, sure, that's good, but how do you know that's what the animal wants? Using PETA's own logic, getting an animal fixed is against letting animals live how they should. And this is why PETA is ridiculed. The base message is so ridiculous, that when anyone from PETA says something that makes sense is framed against that base message, the wisest of words make the whole looking like a laughingstock. And this is generally why I pay little attention to PETA.  (Nov 17, 2012 | post #1)

War on Christmas - London, OH

I find it difficult to believe a god who created us with free will and loves us would damn us to hell because of that gift. I don't believe in damnation and I do not break the law. I have my own rather strong set of morals that keep me from doing things that are illegal. And there are people who do believe in damnation and they break the law anyway. I know more "Christians " who have broken laws as opposed to atheists and agnostics. I do not believe that crime decreased much when Rome switched form a polytheistic empire, to a monotheistic one. I do not think the same happened to the Middle eastern empires that converted to Zoasterism. Nor do I think crime changed much when Egypt switched to a monotheistic kingdom briefly. Even the Kingdoms of Judea and Israel still had crime, even with the threat of damnation in Sheol. Crime happens regardless of the presence of religion. Morality is inscribed on the hearts of people, not just their religion  (Oct 27, 2012 | post #6)

War on Christmas - London, OH

Israel is the North Hemisphere. Therefore winter in Israel is Winter in Ohio. Seasons are not divided like hours on the face of the planet. There are two seasons per year. The North Hemisphere experiences one and the South Hemisphere experiences the other. And since Israel is not south of the equator, the season is the same there as it is in Columbus, Los Angles, and Tokyo. I'm not making fun of beliefs, per say, I am more mocking the fact that so many people claim there's this war on Christmas, and then they go out, get loaded with debt, and really don;t think much about what Christmas was. Though, to be fair, Christianity co-opted the holiday as a way to convert pagans. So if you REALLY want to go back further, Christmas is not originally about Jesus. but rather the celebration of the midpoint of winter (Yule). And it is not fair to say that Christianity prevents crime. Christians can commit crime just like any9one else. And before Christianity existed, there were laws that dictated moral behavior. I mean, after all, Judaism is the source of the Ten Commandments, and that's not exactly Christian. And other societies also put heavy penalties upon behaviors like murder and rape. Christianity didn't change anything. It borrowed from other sources and then asserted itself as superior. I'm not Christian and I do not break the law, not because of god or divine punishment, but because I choose not to break the law on my own volition. The scary thing to me is if a Christian who follows the law only because of god, if he or she were to lose their way, then they are in more danger of being a criminal because they pinned their behaviors on a deity that they feel is no longer supportive of them. THAT is something terribly fearful  (Oct 22, 2012 | post #4)

Actually, I'm Agnostic. I think all religions are equally silly. If I believe in your god, I might as well believe in a Flying Spaghetti Monster. However, I believe that forcing your religious morals on poeple who do not subscribe to your religion is wrong. You want to practice your superstitious beliefs, you go on right ahead. But when you think anyone else needs to abide by silly rules from a book written by a bunch of old guys trying to explain the origins of life, then you're in the wrong. But since you believe so throughly in the Bible, I'm supposing that you also subscribe to silly biblical ideas like spontaneous generation, unicorns, behemoths, and the leviathan? Oh yes, and talking animals! Can't forget those. The bible says they happen.  (May 16, 2012 | post #185)

Oh? You want MORE examples of why it's heterosexuals who make a mockery out of marriage? I'm more than happy to provide you with a lengthy and historical list of sham marriages dating back to at least the 1920s. I used modern sources that people know, but if you;d like me to be more obscure, I'm more than willing to.  (May 16, 2012 | post #178)

I find that when a person attacks another based on their avatar, they have nothing productive to say and are being being juvenile to score points. You really should mature a bit. It's unnatural for a grown adult to act like a child.  (May 16, 2012 | post #177)

That doesn't make sense? Yet you believe in an invisible man with a flowing beard and robes who magically made a woman pregnant? Sorry, but considering your religious beliefs and the apparent fact that you tend to believe that the bible is literally true... THAT makes no sense.  (May 16, 2012 | post #176)

What does sexuality have to do with drug use? Of course, I might be able to see your argument if you were to admit that you and people who think similar like you, believe that gays and lesbians are "filthy individuals" which causes them to pull inwards and self-destruct because you, and people who think similar to you, reject them. But then that's not a case of sexuality, it's a case of rejection. And anyone can be rejected. The abnormal behavior is voicing your hatred and dislike for another person because what they enjoy, like, or do in private. People like you are the ones who are sad, because they cannot see beyond an antiquated book written for people who suffer from extreme superstition.  (May 14, 2012 | post #57)
