HOLE OPENS UP AGAIN ON HIGHWAY BRIDGE : WFMZ-TV 69News

This bridge is scheduled to be replaced by an earthen bridge. So don't fix it too well. It will only be ripped up in a few years anyway. btw...An earthen bridge from what I understand is this. The empty space under the bridge is filled in with dirt. Aquaducts are constructed to allow the river to flow under the fill. It is believed that not having both sides of the bridge open to factors that damage them will make them last longer. Easier to fix, and don't ice up as easily. Thus less salt. Yes the educated fool is right. Extra salt is a real bad guy here. Not sure anyone will care when gas is 10 bucks a gallon. We won't be able to afford the gas to put in the car to drive over the bridge....TY Washington and Harrisburg! You all suck!!!  (Jun 12, 2008 | post #16)

Top Oil Execs Get No Pity In Senate

Yeah, um Linda. These evil CEO's that are making 12 million or 20 million a year are running the largest companies in the world. Can just anyone do this job? No. Hey Brad Pitt made 20 million on ONE movie. Should we drag him in and castrate him because he makes so much? How many sports people, movie stars, or even the stinking politicians that are pointing their fingers make 10's of millions a year? So, your logic is flawed! The problem is environmentalists, all Democrats, some Republicans, and together a hand full of elitists who have no vision, no common sense, and no caring for us. They (the Washington elite) are all rich. What the real people are going thru doesn't effect them one bit. And until we wake up and throw these screwballs out, we are screwed!!! All I can say is BOB BARR FOR PRESIDENT!!!!  (May 22, 2008 | post #95)

Funny I haven't seen anyone here thinking this is a good idea. But I'll bet it passes. How far will this go until we take back our country from these wack jobs? Better be soon...  (May 21, 2008 | post #97)

New round to begin in property tax fight

Well said Ticked!!! That's why I'm going to Harrisburg June 2nd to raise some hell!!! And I'm not just blowing smoke! I'm proud to say I'm the guy from Exeter who was pictured on page A-2 of The Reading Eagle. I'm one of those guys who is constantly calling and writing my congressmen and senators. And I'm also giving up a days pay to march to the Capitol Rotunda, and raise a little hell on June 2. Hopefully many of you that are as pissed as myself and Ticked will join us and let our representatives know we mean business. Always remember, the squeaky wheel always gets the oil! So LET'S ROLL PEOPLE!!!!  (May 13, 2008 | post #2)

is it true that this happens in reading???

My Dear Elle, I have now become bored with you... Your first post, an incoherent rambling of idiotic statements and false accusations was slightly amusing. Very slightly... Anonymous then posted a more coherently funny follow up referencing a very famous movie from Monte Python called Search for the Holy Grail. His post added humor to your not so funny post. I then added to his post with more absurdity based on the movie and your wonderfully intellectual musings of Reading. Sorry you apparently weren't intellectual enough to make the correlation between your post, our posts, and the movie. Then you decide to get personal with me because you were to stupid to understand that I was further adding absurdity to the previous posts. Yes, for sure Reading is a dangerous place. So is every city. Some more than others. But the diatribe you posted about Reading could only invoke even more outlandishly far-out posts like mine and anonymous... But don't kid yourself, if you don't own a gun, where ever you may live, all I can say is God bless you. Your cute comebacks about water guns and barking dogs were very humorous. Once again too bad your intellect couldn't grasp that I couldn't be more serious about criminals, my personal property, and using my 2nd Amendment Rights to protect myself. And hopefully I never have to, but I will guarantee you, if I have to I will!!! Well, it's been fun Elle! I now feel so much dumber from this experience....  (May 12, 2008 | post #11)

is it true that this happens in reading???

Hey anonymous, have you seen, or heard about the killer gangs of white rabbits coming out of Crystal Cave? Had a gang of them doing damage to my yard the other night. I got out my gun and blew um away! Then kicked them into the street for that truck Ella inquired about. Sure is a nice public service the city of Reading supplies with that truck and all. All those dead gang members tend to get really smelly after a few days... Well, gotta go, have to go find some shrubbery. That dam gang, The Knights of Nie continue to demand shrubbery everytime I try to leave my property. Too many gangs...not enough trucks!!!  (May 6, 2008 | post #5)

By the way, would it then be correct to consider the Rev. J. Wright to be a bitter man also? So it's ok for him, and not for me? Just wondering...  (Apr 14, 2008 | post #3)

$100 million plan to build, repair Reading schools aired

"Chapman said the cost won’t be passed on to city taxpayers." How nice, free money? Hmmmm, where did this free money come from? Either it came from a money tree, or where it always comes from...taxpayers? Hmmmm, again. "He said the district is expected to receive about $10 million more in basic education funding from the state this year than the district had budgeted." Well yahoo, extra free money! Let's spend it quick before the taxpayers realize we took too much from them to begin with. "In his proposal, he suggests that the district borrow $100 million through a bond issue." Wait, I thought you had free money? But you need to borrow for it? I'm confused? "Board member Pierre V. Cooper questioned if $100 million would be enough to meet the district’s many needs?" My God no. Not nearly enough money I'm sure. There must be more free money out there. Let's go hit the property tax ATM machine and get more! "Chapman said he was happy with the board’s response." Who couldn't be happy, spending all this free money would make anyone down right giddy! I know, I know, I get it! Bending over, grabbing ankles with checkbook in hand....  (Apr 14, 2008 | post #1)
