Evolution Debate

This Week in Intelligent Design - 16/12/11

Kind of like March, or was it October, 2010. Has he awakened enough to come up with another date? They never learn. The Witlesses have been doing it for over 100 years, and Christianity in general has been losing for almost 2,000 years. Yet they think rain dances, witch doctors and voodoo are silly. I fail to see the difference between a witch doctor and Jebus.  (Dec 24, 2011 | post #4)

Evolution vs. Creation

No better than any other animal that kills its own kind. At least they have the excuse that they need the protein for food. We do it because we have nothing better to do. Life made more sense 50,000 years ago. If you were human you were an ally. We need a universal enemy.  (Dec 24, 2011 | post #13429)

So they want a transitional between unicellular life and multicellular life? Now they have one. Say goodbye to another gap Goddy can hide in.  (Dec 24, 2011 | post #2)

I think that the theists are correct. They didn't "come from apes". They came from a family consisting of Adam, Eve and two sons. (Don't they all SOUND inbred?)  (Dec 24, 2011 | post #41)

And the name of a friend of my wife's, who doesn't live that far from forreal. (But she's intelligent.)  (Dec 24, 2011 | post #71077)

I kind of got that idea when I read your next postTo point out the stupidity of "apes evolving into men". Can't "evolve into" what you are.  (Dec 24, 2011 | post #13427)

It sounds more like too many episodes of "Let me stick that needle into my arm and this blow up my nose". I wonder how badly his hands shake. (I used to work with kids who suffered from that affliction. Cerebral burnout.)  (Dec 24, 2011 | post #13426)

What are you babbling about. Pompeii in 79 CE had a population of about 20,000What do you THINK happens when you bury people under 10 feet of molten rock? They all died. They're still IN that rock.  (Dec 24, 2011 | post #13425)

NO individual evolves. So? That's like the news that Jesus Christ isn't applesauce.  (Dec 24, 2011 | post #13424)

Drew Smith: The Bible is fiction. forreal: The Bible states ... And you wonder why people laugh at youI REALLY hope you never try to tame a lion or a grizzly bear. The mess they'd make of you would be TERRIBLE to clean up. Blood and fecal matter all over the place. (Worse with a bear than with a lion. Bears are messy eaters.) Control? Sure. Put enough chains on a bear and it can't move. Cut off it's claws (that's amputation of the last joint of its fingers, in case you thought declawing wasn't pure sadism) and it can't rip you to shreds. (It can still crush you or bite half your head off in one gulp.) But TAME one? "Grizzly Adams" was a story, not real life. The man who knew most about bears, lived with them for years, got killed by one who got pissed at him. One swipe and he went from bear expert to bear lunch. (Another bear would just have swiped back. God never taught bears how strong they are.) I don't care what your Bible says - show me a man who thinks he can tame a bear or a lion and I'll show you a dead moron walking. Why don't you form "Church of Jesus Christ, Bear Tamer"? It'll be like the Christian snake cults - self-limiting.  (Dec 24, 2011 | post #13423)

Evolution vs. Creation

Just about all of them. (Not the ones I'm not expert enough to have an opinion on.) Once an hypothesis becomes a theory, it's almost churlish to not "stand behind" it. I even saw cogent points in AAT. Still do. Don't "stand behind" it, though. But I do go along with the Mediterranean thesis. (Not that we'll be able to look for evidence during my lifetimeWhich has absolutely nothing to do with evolution. Which, being versed in almost every theory about it, you surely knowYou're assuming facts not in evidence. If I want a serious discussion on evolution, I wouldn't be in a forum filled with creationists (and this one is). But if you had to phrase it the way you did, I can see that you're not actually trying to have a discussion about evolution, and I'm not rising to your bait.  (Dec 24, 2011 | post #13422)

If there's intelligence in West Virginia, there's hope for the species yet. And yes, someone could be that stupid. I give you Charles Idemi as a good example.  (Dec 24, 2011 | post #71073)

Mocking fundies for 63 years and still going strong. (Got into a lot of trouble the first 20 years or so - no one likes a wise-assed little brat. It got better when the gray started showing.)  (Dec 24, 2011 | post #71072)
