How can you expect a good Muslim or Jew to forsake his belief in the same God that we worship to follow Christianity? How can a loving God expect a person to make that leap of faith? Why would God be so small as to condemn someone to Hell because he didn't happen to choose the correct belief system, even though he led a virtuous life? I believe God has many faces and He shows different faces to different people. Why would God have chosen to reveal Himself to only one small group of people at the beginning of history? I agree with you on this. We know there were some political motives involved in selecting which books were to be part of the canon. Thomas did not suit that agenda well. This kind of proves how questionable it is to believe that the Bible as we have it today is the absolute and only Truth of God, as many fundamentalists believe. (Friday Dec 4 | post #57)
