Cable giant yanks chains of OSU fans

I won't call you names, but it hurts that he's right, doesn't it? Wow, I agree with a Kent fan. And if you think Jim Tressel will be successful until retirement at Ohio State, you're more ignorant than I thought...  (Aug 15, 2008 | post #139)

Ahh...cloverfield. My FAVORITE Ohio.com user. You've switched up allegiances for your convenience I see? The Buckeyes have yet to prove they belong on the same field with SEC/ACC teams since 2002. You could make an argument that they deserved to be in the "BCS" championship (despite getting destroyed) in 2007. Last year they fell into it and it showed. Big T(elev)en football is a full step behind other "BCS" conferences. While Ohio State may be the class of the Big Ten with Michigan struggling and Wisconsin being mediocre, it means nothing. And let me cut you off at the chase, while the MAC is 1-A, it's still a different level than "BCS" conferences. While that gap is narrowing, it will be decades before there's a level playing field. Meanwhile, I'm perfectly happy struggling through a couple tough seasons to support my alma mater. You have fun following those Buckeyes, cheering every step of the way, while they win 10-11 games a year. I'll be here to laugh when you ignore them when they inevitably regress to the cooper years of the early 2000s. You'll be taking your weekend nap while the buckeyes struggle to win 4 Big Ten games.  (Aug 14, 2008 | post #134)

It's a shame so many folks in this state ride that bandwagon, life or death. I paid $90 for season tickets where I get to GO to each game, watch entertaining football, and more importantly SUPPORT MY LOCAL TEAM. Now, Buckeye "fans," before I get that holier-than-thou speech about how the quality of football isn't "up to par" or the Zips aren't "big-time. " You have fun sitting and whining how you can't watch a state school located 2-3 hours away, play football on tv each week. Whine in week 3 when "your" team gets stomped by Southern Cal and "your" season is over. I'll have fun tailgating all day, socializing with friends, watching great football, and building future tradition for MY team. You go ahead and root for that division one football team located down I-71. I'll support the division one football team and major university in my back yard. GO ZIPS!  (Aug 12, 2008 | post #73)

Police probe KSU vandalism

Can't Read, Can't Write, Can't State. It's a shame we'll never find the hippies that did this. Can you imagine the embarrassment when your own students deface their football stadium? Such a shame...  (Aug 12, 2008 | post #53)

UA may give up fight for properties

HAHAHAHA. Well poured glass of warm keg beer (Manny's) or a tall-boy of Natural Ice (Joe's). The Nemer legacy will be that of slum-operating greedy S-O-Bs, and that's the legacy they deserve.  (Aug 7, 2008 | post #93)

UA will appeal $3 million tag on land deal

50 Space lot valued at $1,000,000. That alone is enough for an appeal, and if you think that's a "fair and reasonable amount", you have issues. Let's say we're basing the value on the lot if the stadium was built. The Zips average about 5 to 6 home games a year. Say Joe and Manny charge people $100/game to park there. At that rate (which would never happen) it would still take 37 years to reach that value. All of you natives with your hatred for this fine institution need to get over yourselves. The U is the one thing keeping the City of Akron afloat. Just because UA NEEDS the property doesn't make it's appraised value go up. This jury was clearly full of anti-UA akron natives.  (Jun 11, 2008 | post #100)

Columbus bar challenges enforcement of smoking ban

Ahhh...True Patriot...another individual hiding behind a keyboard to fling juvenile insults. Smoking is not a constitutional right. It is a habit with PROVEN health risks that are documented throughout medical journals and studies. It is a habit that produces harmful fumes inhaled by those not only within immediate contact but within the same general area, fumes that are PROVEN and DOCUMENTED to cause the same deadly health risks as the primary smoker. I DO agree that this may be something that our government shouldn't stick its nose in. HOWEVER, this was not legislation that was slickly passed through the Ohio legislature. It was a bill PUT TO PUBLIC VOTE that passed by an overwhelming majority. 57% to 43% (I'll assume these are correct because they were previously sited by an anti-smoking ban poster). This is the MAJORITY of the public in the State of Ohio standing for their rights over the MINORITY. In case you forgot, this is a democracy.  (May 20, 2008 | post #204)

OK. I give up. Hang on to that invincible attitude and when one day the doc comes calling letting you know you have 6 months to live, you can go ahead and struggle to continue to believe that smoking isn't bad for you and that you were struck down with some awful illness purely by chance. Maybe someone could invent a bubble for smokers to wear on their head that included a mix of oxygen and a filter so that they could go out to the bars and be the only ones to suffer the ill effects of their habit. NOW THAT SOUNDS LIKE AN IDEA!  (May 20, 2008 | post #190)

What? The voters of Ohio did speak on this, and it passed with a majority vote. Though I suppose there was a conspiracy to miscount votes and confuse the public on what they were ACTUALLY voting on.  (May 20, 2008 | post #181)

Yeah, this thread did lose focus. Back to the owner that intentionally violated a law, refused to pay his fines, and now will be shelling out even more in attorney fees. Sucks for him.  (May 20, 2008 | post #178)

Still not enlightened as to the conspiracy against the minority population of smokers... Can someone explain who is creating all this propaganda and why?  (May 20, 2008 | post #174)
