one time i was in garberville. redway actually. had a flat. only 19. didnt know much. about cars especially. let some Hum-co woodsman type jack my car up, take the tire off, spare didnt fit. ok. so he says his brother has a garage. he can take the tire there, patch it, re-inflate it, bring it back, and re-mount it. at 9:30pm. jeez, i asked him, how much is THAT gonna cost? ahhh, its no biggie, I FEEL BAD YOUR SPARE WONT FIT, he tells me. ok, we're gonna go watch the show, see you when we get back. 3 and a half hours later, we go out to the parking lot, and....car is sitting there with no wheel. still. jeez.... so we're standing by the side of the road. in redway, 1am, december, probly 42 outside, foggy, and its just not looking too good for us. till the guy showed back up. the puncture was in the side wall, no way to patch it. but not to worry, being that his brother owned a garage, he was able to find a used tire in our size, re-mount it, and pretty soon we were on our way. he refused any payment. told me he owed God big time. just doing what he thought was right. glad i was in nor-cal for that one.
