Whats wrong with you people are not sick of getting pooed on but you want a change but no union. This is the only way to get what we deserve. Sun and ron dont give a dam about you its what ever they can do to line there pockets on our work. im for one am willing to pay a little extra to get what i need to support my family..........RON WAS NEVER GOING TO GIVE US RAISE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  (Oct 1, 2012 | post #23)

Where to start... Ok how about here. Ron bold faced lied to you, me, and the rest of us when he said UFCW was "looking for new dues" Now firstly it was a small group of workers tired of watching everyone making their money off our hard work with no remorse for taking advantage of us. Secondly to clear up the rest of Ron's lies from his little posters planted all over the company. Strikes... If any of you had attended the union meetings you would know it requires a 75% vote from THE WORKERS! Another rumor you may have heard or may be fearing is the worry of Sun packing up the Bowling Green plant to Africa or god knows where else China perhaps.. This again is yet a RUMOR be smart now people. How much money did the company just spend for the "one roof program" They just built a ONE MILLION SQ foot warehouse.... They are not going anywhere for quite a while. Back to Ron's claims if anyone has read the newsletter posted all over the plant it states that with 30% of the employees signing the union card the union MAY be able to "demand" recognition WITHOUT you being able to vote. That is an abomination absolutely FALSE and the biggest lie that even Ron has had the audacity to spit out of his mouth. While yes the union does need 30% to hold a vote the union would need a MAJORITY as in 70% or more of cards signed to ASK for recognition at which point the company could accept or deny and then the labor board would be the next contact where yet again a VOTE would take place. Also somewhere I had heard someone saying that if we signed the cards Sun would find out. Yet again a scare tactic the only people who see your cards are the Union reps and the Labor board. Next topic to tackle is Union dues YAY! I love clearing up the fog laid down from the Bs Ron emanates. Ive heard alot about dues being 100$ a paycheck and thats one of the main reasons people are fearing this change now firstly union dues would be in a range anywhere from 23$ to 45$ A MONTH which is roughly 22$ a check. If that 22$ a month is too much for you to part with think about it this way. This past year Sun switched insurance (yet again) to Cigna so they could receive a discount. Did you notice a reduction in your insurance? because I noticed a raise in cost.In fact look at your check for the last month we were paid three times. If you didnt get charged insurance 3 times in that month consider yourself lucky.... Its Ridiculous but they do it because WE let them. Fun Sun Fact number 1 Bowling Green has the Highest OEE of all our sister plants However we are also the LEAST PAID and have the HIGHEST INSURANCE COST. So if that isn't called letting them take advantage of us then what is? Every Employee at Sun has one thing in common and its that we work for our families. We work to provide for them. we work to send our kids to field trips, to school dances, and to send them to college so they don't have to work the jobs we do. I don't care how much over time you work with no cost of living raise and the fact it will take you 20 years to top out with the pay per performance crap your lucky to support your family much less any extras. We truly NEED this and our "real" families need this. Oh and Sun Products I just want you to know any employee you do have that is against the union is only against them because of reasons such as the above. NOT because you have their loyalty.
