MW finishes 2nd at NH

I followed the whole race via race view and watching the speeds and listening to the audio, Mikey was very happy with his car all day. He was never slow, but was nearly the victim of bad track position at the start. Once he cleared that hurdle, he had a car that could pretty much run with anyone and I was really disappointed to hear some members of the media belittle his efforts yesterday. I guess that if Jeff Gordon wins a fuel mileage, rain-shortened race, it's good strategy, but if the 55 does it, it's only luck because everyone knows that only the handful of annointed ones are allowed to have a mileage strategy. Way to go Mikey!  (Jun 30, 2008 | post #35)

More about your Idiot Uncle Jocky Roach

There seems to be 2 differing opinions of how the part was discovered at MWR. Don't really care. My problem is that no matter who makes the sway bar, they are not really all that small. One would think that SOMEONE would have noticed an MWR employee slinking around and snagging a Roush sway bar. Greater chance that some fool at RFR laid it down in the wrong place and during post-race garage clean-up MWR picked it up. After the race, short track sway bars were probably not needed and they were put in storage and not discovered until Dec./Jan., at which time the part was returned. There was no discernable benefit to MWR and Roush really does need an enima. I think its all over but the shouting now and that's all coming from RFR.  (Mar 28, 2008 | post #49)

wow! pretty strong words about theft from dale

In order: Yess it's spelled right (Jr's still in dire need of a public speaking coach though). Jeff was hysterical with his comments. Jack has no case as there is no proof that a benefit was derived from the part AND it was returned to him. Fitz Racing used to be Fitz-Bradshaw before Terry Bradshaw sold his interest. (Go Robby) And the heck with the other games, Davidson is ROCKIN!  (Mar 28, 2008 | post #2)

Time in the sun wood be good for him, but fishing would imply eating afterward, and he needs to restrict that activity.  (Mar 1, 2008 | post #2)

The Big Man in Nascar

Most people want to be the big man in terms of power. Tony seems to be taking it a bit too literal. Did anybody notice that he's even bigger at Vegas than he was at Daytona. Wow is that boy getting fat!!!  (Mar 1, 2008 | post #1)

Go or Go Homers at Fontana-

We loved seeing ole Herm in the race. Sorry he couldn't try this week. Of course, with the rain, he would have been stuck anyway. The Front Row cars have never been strong, but the cars they are prepping for Kenny really suck. I hope his Nationwide deal does well for him.  (Feb 22, 2008 | post #37)

Buffy Waltrip is asking Michael Waltrip for a divorce.

Damn! I'm not even getting into this whole thing any more. I just wanted to say that I'm impressed. There is actually someone that posts here with a reasonable command of the English language. Some of the words may be lost on the less educated though.  (Feb 20, 2008 | post #1756)

Wheels: Can a Toyota Win the Daytona 500?

Actually, my dad is a WWII vet. He still has the "Japs are evil" mentality. He's also retired from GM. He blames the Japs for costing US jobs while he tells me how he used to take 2 hour naps at work. My father-in-law is retired from Ford. He did the same thing hiding under work-benches to take a nap while getting paid overtime. That's why GM and Ford are no longer #1 & 2 in car sales. As to your question for the bombing of Pearl Harbor, I believe that it was pre-emptive to make it more difficult for us to wage war against Japan. Even Yamamoto said it was a mistake in his memoirs. Japan's military made the decision to attack. They never asked the guy on the street that was destined to die in the war. Regardless, what Pearl Harbor teaches us is to always be vigilant. It should not teach us to hate the Japanese for an event that is now nearly 70 years in the past.  (Feb 19, 2008 | post #98)

New version of "Inside NASCAR" sucks

The new show is really no where near as entertaining as the old format. I like Byrnes but the format sucks. The old format was much better. Guess we should start beating up speed to get it back to basics. After all, its "Our Nascar" according to the new marketing campaign. Give us our show back!!!!1  (Feb 19, 2008 | post #18)

Go or Go Homers at Fontana-

I'm just in a question mode tonight: Even though Toyota has yet to win a cup race, why does everyone seem to think that they are gettin some secret help from NASCAR? The Toyotas are showing the biggest gains because they had the most to make up. For me, what I'm tired of is the NASCAR media annointing JGR as the second coming or something. MWR, Red Bull and BDR busted their behinds last year to get things off the ground. JGR comes in after last season, gets all of their notes, makes a tweak or 2 and suddenly they "saved" Toyota. Give me a break. I like JGR, but they are no Hendrick, and I suspect that as we go forward, you may see someone else rise back to the top as the number one Toyota team and JGR will go back to their favorite role: second fiddle.  (Feb 19, 2008 | post #7)

Wheels: Can a Toyota Win the Daytona 500?

You know what's really funny: All these folks griping about Toyota while they sit on their over-stuffed backsides watching the race on their Japanese HD TV. I don't get it. I don't think there even IS an American made TV anymore. BTW: Go MWR and Toyota!!!!  (Feb 19, 2008 | post #90)

Buffy Waltrip is asking Michael Waltrip for a divorce.

Did you notice how all of their spouses were at the race? No Buffy.  (Feb 18, 2008 | post #1714)

Buffy Waltrip is asking Michael Waltrip for a divorce.

I'm not Michael stalker. I was sitting here w/my 55 sweatshirt on watching the lack of Buffy at the Daytona 500. Can you please tell me why you are so adamant about this anyway? Other than wallbanger and his many personas, we're all Mikey fans here. But, relying on out of date web links (the fact that they are available does not make them current) to hold on to some slim hope that Mikey and Buffy are not as human as the rest of us is a bit dilusional. While they may have not filed for an actual divorce, there is more than enough reports that they are separated to figure the divorce is coming eventually. I suspect they are working out the details before filing so that everything isn't laid out on the public record, which makes sense.  (Feb 18, 2008 | post #1713)
