Do you approve of Cindy Aldridge as Council Member?

No, I don't live in Needles. I have live in LHC for 11 years. Topix usually don't return to my home city when I am searching around. Cindy Aldridge is simply one of the few that take advantage of the city for her own benefit.  (Dec 12, 2013 | post #7)

If you move here, just remember to bring plenty of money. Every thing is over priced big time here. Gas is almost the most expensive in the state. Any type of service is sky high. And most service sucks. Many people are rude. They think they are "special " and nothing applies to them. A lot of them don't have the concept of private property. They ride their off road vehicles on private property and when confronted they have a tendency to try and get violent. Many don't understand the rules of the road. One of the the big services is auto body shops. LHC may not be a big city, but it has big city issues.  (Dec 12, 2013 | post #162)

Senate panel gives, takes education funds

Sounds like AZ is running towards the bottom in education. Got to keep the electorate dumb so they can keep passing dumb laws.  (May 19, 2013 | post #1)

Isn't this like the pot calling the kettle black? She has her own watergate concerning illegal campaign finance issues. What a loon! I guess she will be moving to Oregon since gay marriages passed.  (May 19, 2013 | post #13)

Senate shoots down school choice mailers bill

Good. Spending public funds for private schools. It's the private schools responsibility for recruitment. If they want parents to know about the schools, they should foot the mailing cost.  (Feb 15, 2013 | post #1)

Ban on new fed gun laws stalled in Arizona Senate

Wrong. I place a high standard of importance on the Constitution. I just don't like all these knee-jerk reactions to something that has not even happened yet. No laws have been imposed. Fellow senators and senate lawyers told Ward that her bill will be unconstitutional and she pulled the bill. Sounds to me that Ward was putting "very little importance" in the Constitution. Some people should think before they speak. By the way, I am all for gun ownership and the 2nd Amendment. I'm just not for someone always looking for a opportunity to sound like a extremist and wants to do away with the government.  (Feb 7, 2013 | post #3)

Ban on new fed gun laws stalled in Arizona Senate

I guess Ward will probably what to be governor since she likes to pick a fight with the federal government like Governor Brewer. Instead of trying to fix the lousy education system here or trying to raise AZ wage rate from the bottom, she wants to waste time on this crap. What a loser.  (Feb 6, 2013 | post #1)

Proposed Gun Bill Met With Controversy

It seems some one in the Senate has a brain and Ward pulled the bill because there was a lot of resistance to it. For someone who is a physician, she is not all that bright.  (Feb 6, 2013 | post #1)

I Hate Lake Havasu

Yes, there is a serious drug problem here. But is that the case almost anywhere in USA? Not trying to downplay your situation, but shouldn't you be mad at your ex. Your daughter did not get caught in some drug situation. Your ex short-circuited that route. I have lived here over 10 years and noticed from day one that there is a serious drug problem here. Sort of shocked at who is behind the distribution here. The main problem here is those in charge are in denial because they don't want things on the books that could tarnish the tourist business. If it is not drugs, it is alcohol. Everything centers around drinking. Almost all the fund raising events apply for temporary liquor licenses to entice people to come to the functions. There are a ton of bars and almost every eating place serves liquor. There are so many people with those anti drunk driving devices in their cars. Yes LHC has a lot of problems. But compared to Kingman, Phoenix, Tucson, Parker and some other places, what choice those one have if their job is in the area?  (Dec 2, 2012 | post #16)

Just wanted to add a little to the cost of living here in LHC. For you coming for Hawaii or anyone coming for Cali, it is cheap. But if you come from the Midwest or certain Southern states, it is not cheap. I moved from the Midwest and was shell-shocked at the cost of utilities, food and gas. Also the retail stores are a little pricey for what they offer. Outside of that. LHC isn't to bad of a place. Oh, yes there are drugs here and sometimes it is quite obvious. But, drugs are almost every where now days.  (Nov 9, 2012 | post #146)

Affirmative Action - AZ Civil Rights Amendment, Propositi...

There may be some truth to what you have stated, but there still exist today where a minority does not get the job because he/she is very much qualified for the job. The job is given to a family member, friend or such who can't tie their shoes. There is still a place for some form of affirmative action, maybe not as it is written today. With the passage of this law, how many qualified non-whites will be overlooked because it gives the employer a greater tool to hire someone less qualified and pay them less?  (Jan 28, 2011 | post #90)

So, now that this has passed, does this means a employer can hire any one that he/she wants and not have to prove that that person in the most qualified or not?  (Jan 13, 2011 | post #67)
