Obama supports Mosque near ground zero

Obama throws his support behind development of a mosque near ground zero. Seems about right for him. Better to show support for those who show such insensitivity towards his countrymen than suggest that it might be best for everyone involved that they look into other available sites in New York. He sounded downright apolgetic for American's outrage. New York City is enormous. The island of Manhattan alone is over 40 square miles. Yet the only site the developers of the mosque are interested in is 2 blocks from ground zero. Hmmm. Seems as though THEY might be trying to make a political point. Are we Americans the only ones who are to show sensitivity towards others? Where is theirs? It's almost as if they are deliberately trying to shove our faces in it. And our President, instead of asking for understanding and compassion from the Muslim community - demands that we Americans are to remain open and not request that OUR collective sensitivities be considered. This should knock his rapidly declining approval ratings down another point or two. Mr. Obama. You are not President of the world. You are President of the United States. About time you start acting like it. Dear God. What would Reagan have said?  (Aug 14, 2010 | post #1)

Deployment to Iraq for 3,500 troops canceled

Time will tell. Iraq may fall to another dictator or worse. Then again, without the opportunity given to them, they would still be held under the boot of a ruthless and bloody dictator. Whatever you think of Bush, please don't tell me that we've accomplished 'nothing'. That's nothing but a lie and I suspect you know it.  (Oct 19, 2009 | post #19)

The depravity was Saddam's regime. Thanks to Bush, the Iraqis atleast have freedom and the hope of a real future. The rape rooms are closed, newspapers can actually print opinions and nobody is being dropped off a roof because they resisted Saddam. 25 million muslims now have a future. A shame some people can't see that - or refuse to see that. Or maybe you prefer tolitarian regimes that squash dissent and pushes through their own agenda and... wait a minute. That sounds like Obama!  (Oct 17, 2009 | post #4)

Obama hasn't earned Nobel Peace Prize

Accomplishments? Uh... tripling the debt. Overreaching the powers of the Presidency & Constitution. Rising unemployent. Bailouts. No defined plan in Afghanistan. The committee said that they issued the prize in part because "Obama has given the world hope." How about tangibal accomplishments? Besides, I have room for only one saviour. The Nobel Peace Prize is a left leaning organization which doesn't even attempt to hide it's agenda anymore. Bush liberated 25 million Muslims. Reagan chokeholded the Russians into oblivion, freeing Eastern Europe. No prizes awarded. Hmmm. Apparently you are rewarded for how you make people feel. Especially America bashing Europeans. Obama's "World Apology Tour" gave the leftists great hope that he would continue down the path of leading American influence & decline so that the rest of the world might like us better. Apparently, "peace" is now considered the 'absence of accomplishments' and the 'inability to engage.' Such is Obama's New World Order. 3 years to go till the end of the Socialist Agenda.  (Oct 9, 2009 | post #1)

Obama has done Nothing, Nada. SNL skit irks the left

Saturday Night Live took a rare swipe at President Obama last Saturday, suggesting that so far, his administration has "underperform ed" and delivered "nothing ". On subjects such as GITMO closing, they're correct. On improving the situation in AFGHANISTAN. They're correct. Getting out of IRAQ. Correct again. The list continued. Unfortunately, there are a number of "successes " for the President. Tripling the debt, rising unemployment, corporate & union bailouts to name a few - not to mention his World Apology Tour that seems to have no end in sight. The real story here is that the left leaning News outlets such as MSNBC and CNN had in depth analysis about whether the criticism was too harsh or true. Funny, I don't remember all this hand wringing when it came to lampooning Sarah Palin? As for George W., they took every opportunity to make him out to be a buffoon, or worse. Being President is a difficult job. It comes with criticism galore. Included in that criticism is a lot of jokes at your expense often with some truth. Mr. Obama has been given a virtual free ride up to this point. Now he's getting just a taste of what real world politics are like. My advise to the President? Grow a pair. If you and your staff can't stand up to the writers at SNL, how do you think you'll fare against the Iranian President or the nut job in North Korea? God, I miss Reagan.  (Oct 5, 2009 | post #1)

Much of what's left of Bethlehem Steel is rotting away day by day and actually has limited historical value. Except for the blast furnaces, just about everything else should be razed and made way for redevelopment that doesn't have to fit around decaying eyesores.  (Sep 11, 2009 | post #2)

Kennedy motorcade arrives in Boston

Big Brother government. Yep. That's the answer. I mean, look how well they've done with Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, building the fence at our southern border, controlling spending, entitlements, the Post Office. Come to think of it, based on past performance if the federal government were a contractor, I wouldn't let them build me a dog house. Sure, let's give 'em health care to foul up. The founding fathers must be spinning in their graves like a pinwheel during a Kansas tornado.  (Aug 30, 2009 | post #193)

Obama only got 53% in an election against an old guy and a supposed idiot? He should have won by double digits. By 2012 America is going to think a tin can looks pretty good.  (Aug 30, 2009 | post #632)

Obama - Quite Comfortable' As One-Term President, White H...

If we're going to use the White House as a tool for affirmative action, I think the next President should be a half black-half Asian wheelchair bound bald Gay diabetic of Native American decent who's parents' came to America illegally. Once that's done and we get the white guilt out of our system, we can go back to the old method of electing Presidents - the most qualified person, who isn't likely to destroy the republic by tripling the deficit, dismanteling our intelligence services or plotting a take over of every sector of our economy to be used as a method to redistribute private wealth in the advance a Socialist agenda. But hey, that's just me.  (Aug 29, 2009 | post #622)

We're lucky alright. In Pennsylvania, soon we'll replace Arlen Specter with a Conservative Republican. In 2012 we'll give Obama time to write his memoirs about his one term as President. Sanity will be restored, the republic saved.  (Aug 29, 2009 | post #176)
