smokers rights

Yeah but I've never known anyone to die from not wearing deodorant!! I've seen plenty of people die from smoking! Even witnessed an autopsy of a smoker and it is not a pretty sight!!  (Monday Dec 7 | post #20)

Sheriffa s Office gets moved

The only thing the tax payers paid for was the purchase of the building. All the remodeling, phone transfers, signs, etc was paid for with money taken in drug busts.  (Thursday Nov 26 | post #26)

Doctors in the area are horrible.

I have been a critical care nurse for nearly 11 years and the most I have ever made is $21.95/hr and that was just this past year.  (Nov 11, 2009 | post #17)

Lowe's

I don't think people would be opposed to the Walmart if they were talking about putting it in a better place. But they are wanting it off exit 14 which will be even more of a death trap to get off the interstate than it is already. That is the worst exit in Southwest Virginia to get off of. If they were to tear down some more buildings and build the Walmart near the Lowe's then I don't think people would have an issue with it. If they are going to build a Walmart off exit 14 then no I DON'T want a Walmart in Abingdon. Move it up to Exit 19 then I might agree. I'm sure Lowe's will hurt some of the smaller mom and pop stores but I don't think it will hurt Berry's or Builder's supermarket. I live near builder's and if I am working on something at the house and need something, I'm not going to drive all the way out to exit 19 to get it from Lowe's to save $.50 when I can drive 2 minutes and get it from builders.  (Nov 11, 2009 | post #20)

Vansant McDonalds..............

I live out of town and have visited the Vansant McDonalds on occasion and have found it to be a very clean store everytime I have been in there. And as long as the employees are washing their hands before preparing or handling my food then I feel it is just as safe to eat as if I had prepared it myself at home after washing my own hands.  (Nov 11, 2009 | post #39)
