School bus hits car, building in Swannanoa

I used to take 70 into Black Mountain when i worked there. That road is a speedway. I wish they'd put a concrete divider (with a guard rail) down the middle of it. I don't think anyone pays attention to the lights or signs. More than once I'd be sitting at the Grove Stone Road light, watch it go green then have people fly right through it. If anything they need to put those "flashing " stop lights in that to maybe grab your attention.  (Apr 11, 2008 | post #35)

You're 5'11", 301#? Wow, you need to wear a hat so we can tell whether you're walking or rolling. :D Just joking with you, k. How about bringing back recess? Let the kids run around a bit after lunch.  (Apr 10, 2008 | post #19)

'Predatory' towing riles drivers

They could have the card for a family member, I know someone who has a tag for her father, who passed away years ago. She still uses it. Annoys me to no end but there's no convincing her that it's wrong. Just park and walk, it would do her some good (mooooooo). The way I see it is that if you park in handicapped parking you need to either (a) have a physical handicap OR (b) be willing to get a beating that would result in your ending up with one.  (Apr 10, 2008 | post #198)

Employees without work permits targeted

Check the health department, you'll find that others get TB also but it's usually immigrants as TB is still "widespread " in other countries.  (Apr 6, 2008 | post #3)

You'd figure that common sense would prevail and she would not park in front of dumpsters....that' s always a tow. My guess is that she was at the Dripolator using that side lot that has the spots clearly marked with signs and on the door to the shop there are signs telling you that you'll get towed. I saw someone get towed from a spot there one day, she went nuts....hey, if you're taking someone's parking and the sign is staring you in the face you deserve to get towed. When in doubt, park elsewhere. Better to pay a buck or two to park and walk a bit than to end up 150.00 lighter.  (Apr 5, 2008 | post #30)

Hilton vows to fight extradition to Florida

Let him go to FL. Transportation will be easy. Tie a noose around his neck, tie the other end to the end of a 747 and take off from Charlotte. If he can survive the flight to FL then let him go - in the swamp. Let the gators finish his measly pathetic butt off. That's too good for him. He needs to become a host organism for something that will feed off of him.  (Apr 3, 2008 | post #7)
