When I started reading your post I thought "I agree", then I got to the last line; I can't believe that you used the kidnapping and sexual assault of a little girl to give a politicle jab. You disgust me almost as much as the pervert in the story.  (May 27, 2011 | post #30)

Yes it does. But not if it squirts out from under a tire, then it is a road hazard.  (May 22, 2011 | post #35)

Wrong. Assuming something is unsecured, is not "by definition unsecured". Nowhere in the article is it stated that the hose was unsecured therefore by definition you are assuming. As I wrote, equipment fails. ie; cables break, welds break, hooks break...etc. What they actually "sign off" on is the pre trip inspection in the morning and the post trip at the end of the day. This is not the same as securing the load, these inspections are for vehicle condition only, and do not include securing the load. Of course it is the drivers responsiblity to make sure that everything on the truck is secure and he/she should get a ticket for not doing so. Should a guy get a ticket if his axel breaks because he didn't take his tire off and check for metal fatigue before leaving for work in the morning?  (May 22, 2011 | post #34)

I must have missed it. Where did it say that the load was unsecured? Equipment does malfunction.  (May 20, 2011 | post #17)

Goodell: NFL will contribute toward Vikings stadium

Real statistics? A smart man told me that if you want to win an argument just throw out some statistics even if you have to make somthing up it will shut them down. While I am not suggesting that you made any thing up; I'm just saying that statistics are easily manipulated and misleading in most cases, rendering them worthless in an argument. Example: A small town had a murder last year, and this year they have 2. Oh my God a crime wave! 100% increase in murder. Another Smart man told that when someone feels that they are losing an argument they resort to name calling such as "dummy". While you see this debate as being about just dollars and cents; I(and I believe most of your opposition) am seeing it as about right and wrong. So researching figures (no matter how correct they are) is irrelevant here. So research into them is unnecessary. So what I DO believe is, even if your figures are right YOU are wrong.  (May 20, 2011 | post #141)

All of it is. They should pay for it themselves we still collect the taxes. If they don't like it they are free to leave. This is too big of a market to ignore and if they do leave it will be thier loss not ours. They already have a facility. Quote all of the figures you want. Talk about that's the way it's always been done etc... it is still wrong. It's corperate welfare and you know it(for a monopoly none the less). How about letting the market take care of itself? With this line of thinking then maybe the state should build a new facility for my company; lets tear down every business in the midway and build better ones with public money, think of the jobs they would create for the working man. This has got to stop for Christ sake enough is enough already.  (May 20, 2011 | post #140)

You are absolutely 100% right! I would only add something about the funding crisis in education. That is also an investment and I believe it would yeild a much higher return.  (May 19, 2011 | post #132)

Stephen Hawking: 'There is no heaven'

I already heard (and used) that question and I assume it is rhetorical and you don't really want the answer. It is simply meant to insult or hurt someone who believes something that you don't. Your mind already has the answer it wants. I am not trying to change anyones mind but it seems that you and several other posters are. By the way; I happen to admire Hawking (and Carl Sagan I have a picture of Sagan in my hallway), very brilliant brilliant man who just happens to have an empty place inside. But thier science all ends at the "Big Bang" and requires faith to go beyond that. Another by the way; I did not talk to God it was more of an expierence and I hope that if you are ever in your darkest place in your life it happens to you. There is nothing to be afraid of I wasn't looking for it, it just happened. My life became exponentially better.  (May 17, 2011 | post #22)

Wrong. Science needs proof. Faith is belief without proof. No reply necessary I've heard all the arguments And I use to use them myself when I was an athiest/agnostic but I was wrong.  (May 17, 2011 | post #19)
