Fireworks delight most people but often terrify their dogs
Another 4th of July joke right? Why would anyone take their dog to a fireworks display? And if all we are talking about here is a neighborhood thing, Billy-Bob blowing off an M-80 in the driveway, Fido, like the rest of us, can just bear it. Now I would like to comment on my cat being disturbed by the STAPLES sign coming down. When he saw that he was very distressed. No one asked ME about that. I am so offended. Those styro pieces fluttering in the wind, made Fellatio (we call him Fella) pace back and forth at the window. I guess he thought they were birds. Who authorized that anyway. We all thought the sign looked great, and we never had a problem directing people to the store. Now I have a neurotic cat and lots of lost neighbors driving around Fletcher. (Friday Jul 4 | post #2)
Asheville's annual July 4th blowout to reduce the noise
This is a 4th of July joke right? Like April Fools? Pretty funny actually. Like the failed attempt at turning an adult celebration, New's Year Eve, into a Family Event. (Friday Jul 4 | post #1)
Steve & Barry's begins talks with creditors
Huh? What do you care about if you don't care about businesses going under. People being fired. People living under an overpass on I-40. People without anything to eat. All because YOU, you heartless **** don't care that a business is going under. You are probably some bearded, bathless hippie, hanging out in the park, wearing sandals and scratching your butt, complaining about things. Go smoke some more pot. (Thursday Jul 3 | post #2)
Rape, satanic worship charged in Durham Dem. scandal
Imagine that. Democrats belonging to an organiztion that worshiped Republicans. Pretty weird. (Thursday Jul 3 | post #1)
Wal-Mart looks to be a good neighbor in Cherokee
I heard they are getting the land for free for 99 years. I also heard that in order to go along with United Personel Young/Old Uniform Respect Systems conditional work permits, 95% of the hired personel must be white adults, who can trace their heritage withing three generations to Ireland or France. This is great for Cherokee which needs some diversity, and great for Wal-Mart as it gets reliable, friendly, folks to work for them, who will be somewhat more sober than the folks shopping there. It is not so good for Chief Ha-Ha who will no longer be able to sell 'beads for less' at his Tee-Pee Palace on the road leading into town. (Wednesday Jul 2 | post #2)
Kat Williams to appear on 'Talent'
Kat Stevens is a lesbian? I thought he was a buddhist. I gotta keep up better. (Tuesday Jul 1 | post #36)
Tiny Smart Cars are turning heads on Asheville's roads
I think the European version gets better mileage. Last time I was in Rome, in Nov, I asked and was told it got over 80 mpg US. Different motor and and less weight. No a/c, no active restraints. In 1984 I bought a new Honda CRX. They made three models, the regular 4 cyl, the SI and the HI which was the high efficientcy engine. I had the regular, with manual xmission. It got 57mpg on the road, 52 in town. I sold in in 1998 with 200k miles on it. The interior was gone, but it ran like a top and got 52mpg on the road, 44 in town. (Monday Jun 30 | post #7)
Pigeon carry the fatal disease Pigeonola crapafuma. If you eat one you will die before your 90th birthday. A little know fact about pigeons is that they actually produce more waste that they eat. It is unknown how they are able to do this but it is the reason some are called 'stool pigeons'. Check it out; its true. I read it on the internet. (Monday Jun 30 | post #27)

Asheville is a GREAT place to visit, you just don't want to have to live there. We will tourist in next week again, drop $1k or so and then go back. We'll have a great time, see friends, smell the hippies, laugh at the lesbos, have a beer after hours at Das Bier Garten. See ya then. (Sunday Jun 29 | post #29)

Environmentalism is just another modern religion
I'm late into this discussion but let me see if I get this right: The only global warming is the result of a natural cycle so we should'nt have to worry? Man's stuff hasn't caused any of this? We don't have to worry about pollution of any kind? Its all gonna be just OK. I'm so relieved. (Friday Jun 27 | post #15)

So now the kids have to stick their heads out the window to spit that 'baccer juice? Why hell son, it'll get all over the door. I say let 'em ride back there. Couple of years the drop out rate in school will be gone. Social Darwinism. (Friday Jun 27 | post #18)
