Color analysis — NASCAR style

I couldn't understand what the big deal was about what Tony is going to do in two years, but Dorothy put it in perspective better than anybody else could on the subject. It's all about the colors. Great article, Dorothy, you are as funny as always. I know this is late, but you made my morning.  (Apr 29, 2008 | post #1)

Stewart talks about Goodyear again

Actually, Mike Helton took the blame on TSL Monday night, telling Tony that Goodyear only provided the tires NASCAR asked them to. Apparantly, NASCAR doesn't trust the crew chiefs to correct the tire wear issues they had testing at Atlanta last fall. It really doesn't matter who came up with the idea; a harder tire for a car that produces less downforce is just plain dumb, as is using the same tire formula for the Sprint Cup car that was used for the Nationwide car.  (Mar 13, 2008 | post #17)

I think it's great that Chrissie's dad will be spotting for her at Martinsville. I think Loren spots for Steven.  (Mar 13, 2008 | post #785)

Liquor Sales Law Moving Along

When New Mexico lifted the ban on Sunday sales, DWI's and DUI's decreased by over sixty percent. It is better for public safety and safety on the roads to allow people to buy liquor and take it home, rather than getting intoxicated at a bar or restaraunt and try to drive.  (Feb 27, 2008 | post #1)

Ryan Newman wins the 50th running of Daytona 500

Congrats to Ryan, Roger, and Team Penske. The main thing his win means to me is that it gives hope that the competition and racing will be great this year, and no "Dynasty "  (Feb 20, 2008 | post #15)

Wheels: Can a Toyota Win the Daytona 500?

While it is true that, except for the motors, nose pieces and stickers, they are spec cars, it is the form of racing I like best, and will continue to watch. That being said, do the xenophobes know that the majority of GM's sales and employees are in China, and that Toyota in America is no more or less a Japanese company than Daimler-Chrysler (Dodge) is a German company? And what are they using to post their messages with? Name one personal computer that is made in America.  (Feb 19, 2008 | post #104)

"Gun-Free Zone Body Counts"

When the shooter has a chance to reload, or to put one weapon down and pick up another, and there is still no way to stop him, that leaves more defenseless victims. People should be allowed to carry firearms, and have the knowledge to use them, in self defense  (Feb 19, 2008 | post #1)

Wheels: Can a Toyota Win the Daytona 500?

I apologize for that last thread, I didn't realize I wasn't on the last page, and didn't read Mindy's request to ignore and not reply. Is there any way one can delete his or her own post if it is posted in error?  (Feb 18, 2008 | post #69)

did you make note of where the computer you used to post this was made?  (Feb 18, 2008 | post #68)

Wheels: Can a Toyota Win the Daytona 500?

Well, you know Tony did say that the only difference between the Toyota and the Chevy was the engine and the stickers, so I don't think there was anything negative in saying that. But yeah, I think the Toyotas will give the Chevies a run for their money. It's going to be a great race and lots of fun  (Feb 16, 2008 | post #7)

NASCAR's Dream Team

No rebuttal is necessary because the article is not relevant to what we are seeing in NASCAR today.  (Feb 15, 2008 | post #47)

New look, same old Stewart

First of all, Oompaloompa, my prayers are with you in your time of grief. It is always difficult to lose somebody close to you, but remember, the Spirit is eternal, and your father will always keep a part of his Spirit within you. Speaking of spirit, this thread is quite spirited, and we can have a lot of fun here. I think it is fine that people like different drivers and will defend them, and argue about who caused an accident and all that. Hopefully it can be done without bashing the other driver for things that have nothing to do with their racing ability. I say, let Smoke be Smoke, let Busch be Busch, and let's look forward to some great rivalries this racing season!  (Feb 15, 2008 | post #129)

Earnhardt Jr., Hamlin win 500 qualifiers

He made it look easy didn't he? I've always said he is one of the best car control guys out there, and he is arguably the best of all the current drivers at restricter plate racing. He's two for two now and lookin' good. It's a good thing that it won't be all about Jimmie and Chad this year.  (Feb 14, 2008 | post #2)

Muslim Group: Air Force Speakers Hate Islam

After reading Shoebat's book, I think he tells it like it is. It isn't about hating Islam, it's about how the religion is used to foment hate.  (Feb 7, 2008 | post #2)

How far will NASCAR, France let drivers go?

Interesting that Jeff Gordon has become an advocate for letting the drivers be themselves. He held his own tongue for so long that many of us, myself included, mistakenly saw him as being arrogant. Now that he has been expressing his opinion, we are getting to know him better and discovering that he is not all that bad. Tony has never been afraid to voice his opinion, and the press knows that, which is why they spend so much time baiting him. Some journalists are finally learning that when he declines an interview, that they better respect that, because they won't like what he has to say.  (Feb 3, 2008 | post #11)
