Philippines vs malaysia.. who will win

Brand new? Have you seen the inside before it crashed? Seen it, sat in it, and got to the runway, it's not brand spanking new. Repaired, repainted and refurbished would be the better term. Then again, I'm an engineer, not a pilot.  (Mar 9, 2013 | post #243)

Sad truth. If the Philippines had not been burdened with centuries of corruption we'd win this battle hands down. The only way we'd surely win is if they were dumb enough top land here and fight. Where we'd outnumber, outgun, and not to mention were already immune to most of the existing biohazards.  (Mar 9, 2013 | post #242)

Here it's just an exchange of views. Dimwits would actually fight over this though. BTW: If you're a Filipino lowlander living close to the sea, you're most likely of Malay descent. The Nilad have always been of Indon descent.  (Mar 9, 2013 | post #241)

True, unfortunately they thought of that as the only way they'd get someone to listen to them.  (Mar 9, 2013 | post #240)

Seen it, but I'm still not scared. As long as we can fry the navigation and guidance systems of any ship, tank, missile, and vessel, I wouldn't worry much. If you have been in the cockpit of a modern jet, how would you fire your payload if it won't release. Good luck with the lever. PS: The trainer jets we acquired are so full of mechanical problems, an expert american pilot would refuse to fly it in combat if he had a choice. Been in the cockpit already.  (Mar 9, 2013 | post #239)

AMC, Martin might have exaggerated on the super-power thing, but when Singapore had just been recognized as a state, we were the richest and had the mightiest armed force in south east Asia for about 2 years. China was in turmoil, Japan had just been nuked, Thailand and Korea were locked civil wars, Indonesia wasn't as organized, and most certainly Malaysia didn't have enough troops. We still had SQUADRONS of brand spanking new F4 Phantoms back then. Certainly no 5th grader alive would now that at this time, lest he be a very old 5th grader. Were you already alive?  (Mar 9, 2013 | post #238)

M4? I still see our soldiers armed with M1's. Our high school gangs are better armed than the cops. Any private militia here is better armed the regular soldier. That is just how our society has been. Make no mistake, the RP government doesn't have attack drones, but that doesn't mean the entities here don't. Rest assured they won't be going anywhere without getting paid. RP government has not afforded them.  (Mar 9, 2013 | post #237)

Unless the Malaysians invade, you can't get these forces to untie.  (Mar 9, 2013 | post #236)

All the nuclear warheads that are in the Philippines is American made, and left in silos. Nobody with a brain would even trying arming them, because of the fall-out as well as they are already leaking. Our countries are too close-by, and we share sea currents and seasonal winds.  (Mar 9, 2013 | post #235)

If there had been no corrupt generals here robbing our soldiers blind we would have more than a fighting chance. The only way we'd win is if you crossover to our side. We're already immune to most biohazards here.  (Mar 9, 2013 | post #171)

I hate those tough talkers who haven't been at the firing end of the barrel. I don't care if your Malaysian, American, Indonesian or fellow Filipino, if you haven't been shot at, slashed at, beaten or bombed, don't talk like you can win the war through this forum. If there is no outside assistance to either country, whoever crosses the sea with a massive armed force first will lose heavily. There simply isn't enough Malaysians, and the Filipinos aren't organized for a full scale war. The UN will surely not approve of either country's hidden arsenal going public.  (Mar 9, 2013 | post #168)

Seconds? If the commonwealth will use tactical nukes, you should expect nuclear fall-out every six months. Not to mention loss of marine life. The commonwealth doesn't have enough ballistics, napalm, and ammunition to wipe out the Philippines in seconds.  (Mar 9, 2013 | post #167)

Malaysia couldn't possibly pay-off all of them, but that would seriously let their forces land. We could lose Mindanao, but they'll not get further leeway. If they dare land on our modern corsair populated towns, they'll be facing warriors who are far better armed than the RP marines. A MiG's weapons are only as good as its guidance systems, so that would not be much of a problem.  (Mar 9, 2013 | post #229)

Why would the Filipinos invade? We're not that greedy. We have natural resources, and until the time of western capitalism, Filipinos lived simply. The Suluks in Sabah aren't invaders, it their land, and they really live there. Has anyone checked if they didn't have legitimate Malaysian identity cards?  (Mar 7, 2013 | post #99)

Has war been declared? I wouldn't bother going there on my own pay. I am not Suluk, they haven't asked any of the other houses for help, just the Philippine government. Unfortunately I doubt the G-Man's nationalism would favor the Sultanate. Currently it is just a fragment of one Noble house in your backyard, not their full force. (I can only dream of the noble houses uniting) We are talking about a dwindling 280 people, armed with rifles and native weaponry. The Malaysian forces have jets modern munitions, and tanks, and have they won yet? Oh! Did I fail to mention that it was the Malaysian government who trained them, or that the weapons they are using come from the Malaysian Military.  (Mar 7, 2013 | post #97)
