Good Bye Mill Creek Police and Thank You !

Yes-Yes-Yes, that is what it could lead to. There will be a NEW SHERIFF IN TOWN if you do not Act Now. The Mill Creek City Council and the City Manager has requested a cost estimate from the Snohomish County Sheriff's Dept. to police the City of Mill Creek as a potential cost cutting measure. Don't allow it to even be considered. Be at the next city council meeting on the 27th of Sept. and voice your opinion. This is FACT folks.  (Sep 24, 2011 | post #1)

Mill Creek City Council

Be advised...A taxpayer paid $100,000. Mill Creek Stragic Plan has been completed and is available to the public. This plan was at the request of the City Council. In the survey it was overwhelmingly stated by the 600 polled , that if any financial cuts were to be made anywhere, do not even consider the Police Dept. So, what did the Council do? They, at the Sept. City Council meeting, decided to instruct the City Manager to consult with the Snohomish County Sheriff's Dept. and he has requested a cost estimate for their survices to police the citizens of Mill Creek. It is expected to be completed within the next 10 days. This, of all places that they were asked to leave alone, they go after. Did they seek cost estimates for outsourcing Maintenance, Parks and Recreation........ No. If necessary, the polled individuals stated that to keep the Police Dept. as is, they would consider a tax increase instead of a change. 2% of your tax dollars equaling $100,000's for a citizens input plan and the city fathers are in total disregard of "our" desires for "our" community. When various member of the Council and City Manager are pressed about the issue, the general answer is "oh, it is just a rumor." No, it is not a rumor, they are waiting for the cost estimate to be deliverd to the City Manager. We need to hear them publicly say that it is not a rumor, but a fact and explain what they are considering doing with the plan. Folks, there is no time to waste with this kind of thinking. Washington State cities that have gone to this type of policing have found it to be even more expensive and a disaster for response times. It goes from 911 to 011. Be at the next city council meeting on Sept. 27th and voice your feelings as well as emailing the council members and the City Manager. We have one of the finest Police Departments in the Country and to lessen that would cut the heart and soul out of this city. Step up with me as another citizen and get vocal about this at the next council meeting. Thank You.  (Sep 24, 2011 | post #1)
