Thousands Exercise Gun Rights at Western Virginia Sports ...

I'd like to come back to the BS reporting in this story... The show this "reporter " was at was not even close to a gun show, and there weren't particularly very many guns either. There's no denying that guns are a part of hunting. Why did she decide to go to a show that is dedicated to hunting, fishing and outdoorsmanship to make a story about guns? Sounds to me like she was just attempting to stir the pot, and based on the comments in this thread, she succeeded. We've got to start questioning the motives and agenda of those feeding the news to us.  (Feb 25, 2013 | post #57)

Thousands Exercise Gun Rights at Western Virginia Sports ...

Good job reporter lady at not having a single clue what this event was about. I think she heard that some guns would be there and decided to see if she could get some looney comments from anyone in attendance. Sorry NBC29, but this was the lamest story I've seen in quite a while.  (Feb 24, 2013 | post #15)

New Class Igniting Interest in Welding

I don't know.. for those prices, and classes that are only 8 or 16 hours between classroom and hands-on time? Sounds a little on the expensive side to me. Are these accredited college level classes? My son travels to Goochland to go to the J Sargent Reynolds Western Campus to take welding classes. They are college classes that last for weeks and weeks with lots of hands-on time and costs almost the same. It is cool that they have walk-in shop time though for $20.  (Feb 20, 2013 | post #3)

Deadly Home Invasion in Prince Edward County

I don't know... three armed intruders come into my home, I'm going to make it rain lead. They're not going to have to wonder if I shot 5 times or 6 :)  (Feb 20, 2013 | post #119)

Deadly Home Invasion in Prince Edward County

I think the other news report you're referring to was a separate incident that happened in Nov 2011 http://www.nbc12.c om/story/16008269/ overnight-shooting -in-rice There are certainly laws that are/were before state legislatures (some of which passed) which do make homeowners less safe. Restricting magazine capacity makes me less able to protect my home with as many rounds as necessary. When three guys knock the door down and they have guns, I sure as heck wouldn't want a 6 shot revolver!  (Feb 19, 2013 | post #112)

And here's my hypothesis.. A 25 year old man and his 2 year old child were in that house. At 25, I'm sure you were both homeowners in Glenmore or Ednam Forest, right?  (Feb 18, 2013 | post #106)

Wow, so people in trailers can't own jewelry or have money? It looked to be a pretty nice "double wide" from what I can see in the video, complete with a car port and paved driveway. What a sad little man you are..  (Feb 18, 2013 | post #91)

Unfortunately, the two killed here will be used in future stats by the gun grabbers to demonstrate how guns kill people.  (Feb 18, 2013 | post #87)

Competency Evaluation Ordered in UVA-Wise Gun Hoax

Please name me someone with a machine gun? Name a crime that's taken place in the last year with a machine gun? Bueller? Bueller? Anybody?  (Feb 15, 2013 | post #10)

And you know why the NRA has so much money? Well it sure ain't from the government stealing it from the taxpayers! It's members like me who give money to them. There are many of us out there, and that allows the NRA to be as big and powerful as it daggone well ought to be. Lastly, I'm just a bit creeped out here why you're so interested in my manhood... perhaps you lost yours some time ago?  (Feb 15, 2013 | post #9)

One of them was illegal, the other was not. If you don't like the law, work to change it through the defined processes.  (Feb 14, 2013 | post #3)

Scottsville Town Council Discusses What to Do about Dumler

No one has any legal authority to do anything about him, so they might as well stop with all the soap box preaching and hand wringing about "what to do". Is there a process for recalling him? If so, please follow that and remove him from office legally! Otherwise, you're just spinning your wheels.  (Feb 12, 2013 | post #29)

Kroger Gun Stunt Sparks 2nd Amendment Debate

Fact - The military never used the AR-15 Fact - The M16 (which the military does use, was designed after the AR-15).  (Feb 10, 2013 | post #329)

Kroger Gun Stunt Sparks 2nd Amendment Debate

The AR15 was NOT designed by the military. It was originally designed as a civilian weapon. It was adopted by the military which then designed the M16 based on the AR15 design. Please endeavor to get simple facts straight. And lethality or stopping power doesn't necessarily have to do with number of rounds. The actual round itself plays a huge role in stopping power. Shooting someone with plain ball ammo vs shooting them with a notched jacket hollow point like the Winchester PDX1 personal defense ammo is a huge difference.  (Feb 9, 2013 | post #322)

Proposed Budget Would Lower Fluvanna Property Tax

Fluvanna was one of the few localities that had our last assessments at the very top of the housing bubble, just before it popped. What happened? Did we get a decrease in our taxes? Of course not! We went through the entire housing crash with our assessed values untouched and our taxes were even increased!  (Feb 8, 2013 | post #4)
