Stand With Us I couldn't agree with you more! Gov. Paterson is not only trying to pull a fast one over everyones "eyes" but is trying to govern "Our" land with higher taxes so that he is able to fill his pockets with the silver and gold. Fat tax??? Give me a break. Yes, people should eat healthy meals on a daily basis but, if the poor can only afford a small meal that consists of french fries and a burger from McDonalds, then you tell me where the justice is in that!! Two healthcare workers arrested on abuse allegations
This really preturbes me to the max. Ok, so they lost their jobs...Why aren't they in jail? If someone goes out and assaults someone else on the street, they can end up in jail. These 2 misfits abuse the elderly and the only punishment they get, for now, is the loss of their employment??? They should be jailed and then return to court. This is totally inhumane and they should be punished to the fullest extent of the law. If they couldn't handle their jobs with dignity and care, then they need to be somewhere else but, certainly, not with the elderly who can't defend themselves against these criminals!!!! I don't know what these people were lacking but, if the families were unablet to care for the veterans and they did NOT want to put in some, run of the mill, nursing home, and they were well taken care of, meds., clothing, cleanliness, and daily household living, then why in the world would the state close down their home? If they're happy and not being abused in anyway, leave them the hell alone. If the care takers are profiting or taking too much money then that's a different story altogether. I say let the families decide, don't just close them down. These vets need happy, loving care and respect. They did it for us now let someone do it for them!!! I know, the government wants their money and to see them on the streets the way they have done to many, many vets. I don't know about all the rest of you but, when I grew up, fear and respect came hand in hand. If you didn't respect your parents and the rights of others you better damn well fear what's coming to you. Where did all the discipline go? You can't discipline your child without the cops coming to your house and arresting you for speeking loudly or punishing your child the way your mother and father punished you. It's just a damned shame that these children grow up the way they have been in the past 20 years due to the lack of discipline. Bring back the "rule" and you'll see many children looking up to you, and all others, with respect and they will not grow to become the monsters that they are today. That's not to say that all people who grew up when I did are angels. We had bad times too but we also had good parents to show us right from wrong in more ways than just ignoring us and saying "it's just a faze" they'll grow out of it. Not going to happen! Wake up people! It's time to love, cherish and respect your children so that they will love and cherish you when they become adults and add some dignity to all of our lives! Cops are only needed when there are no, true, adult figures in the childrens lives. Get the kids off the streets, make them do their homework, set time aside for them and only them. Don't have extra money to spend, play ball, play on the computer, listen to their music, get into their heads before they chop off someone elses. The best way to treat a mischievous child is to take them into your heart and not into the nearest jail to make them think they are worthless human beings. (Jan 20, 2009 | post #6)

What? 5 - 7 years????? She has to live with this for the rest of her life!!! Please don't tell me he will be rehabilitated behind bars! Maybe RE-ENTERED into his own system but rehabilitated, absolutely NOT! This rapist needs to stay behind bars and enjoy his life with whomever will take him or have him!! I hope he rots! Is that all there is? Don't these people matter at all. If Rochester had a fire on Main Street and it was in a garbage can I'm sure there would be more coverage to that than what has been printed for the fire in Wyoming County. What's up with that? I am white and I lived on Gregory St. some years ago. It was a quiet neighborhood and no one was shot or stabbed and houses were not broken into. My neighbors were black and further down the street they were Puerto Rican. Mixed neighborhood? Yes. Trouble, NO! Get off the black kick will you! It doesn't matter what your skin color is, it matters whether or not you bleed!!! Some of you racists should put yourself in other peoples shoes for a while and learn what they've had to learn, the hard way, don't condemn them for what nationality they are or the color of their skin. Do you actually know what color your great, great, great grandmother or grandfather was??? If you're not a full breed yourself, you have no idea what true "COLOR" you really are!
