The Connection between Illegal Immigration and Organized Crime
I can appreciate your point of view, and agree to disagree. :-) We are *finally* getting some cooler weather! Yay!!! How are things up there? I'm out getting some dinner and talking to the regulars at Stained Glass. Have some errands to do and then home to some more work. I'm hoping this cool weather continues, as it feels really nice. The only thing *your* President (glad you take responsibility for him, because I sure don't) will *succeed* at is destroying this country further. He is, however, doing a great job of that! (Thursday Nov 12 | post #22)

The Connection between Illegal Immigration and Organized Crime
We still don't reward law breaking, and it's not fair to the people who have been waiting years in their own country to come legally. Why should we let a line jumper step in front of those trying to do it right? Besides, no one knows for sure if that illegal has used someone else's social or if they've gotten benefits for their anchor that they have never contributed towards, and so on. To be fair, we must get the illegal aliens out of here. They did this to themselves. (Thursday Nov 12 | post #29)
The Connection between Illegal Immigration and Organized Crime
Matthew 22 and Romans 13 make it pretty clear that we are not to violate the laws that govern our society. In Luke 20:25, the phrase, "Give unto Caesar what is Caesar's" is attributed to Jesus. He was talking about tax law; the quote is used as an example of how Christians should submit to secular authority. Romans 13:1-7 states: “Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. Consequently, he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and he will commend you. For he is God’s servant to do you good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword for nothing. He is God’s servant, an agent of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also because of conscience. This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are God’s servants, who give their full time to governing. Give everyone what you owe him: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.” That passage makes it abundantly clear. We are to obey the government God places over us. God created government to establish order, punish evil, and promote justice (Genesis 9:6; 1 Corinthians 14:33; Romans 12:8). We are to obey the government in everything - paying taxes, obeying rules and laws, showing respect, etc. If we do not, we are ultimately showing disrespect towards God, for He is the One who placed that government over us. When the Apostle Paul wrote Romans 13:1-7, he was under the government of Rome, during the reign of Nero, perhaps that most evil of all the Roman Emperors. Paul still recognized that government’s rule over him. How can we do any less? Romans 13:1-7 makes it abundantly clear that God expects us to obey the laws of the government. The ONLY exception to this is when a law of the government forces you to disobey a command of God (Acts 5:29). Illegal immigration is the breaking of a governmental law. There is nothing in Scripture that would contradict with obeying immigration laws. Therefore, it is a sin, rebellion against God, to illegally immigrate into another country. Romans 13:1-7 also gives the government the authority to punish lawbreakers, whether it be by deportation or imprisonment (in the cases of illegal immigration), or more severe penalties for greater crimes. The vast majority of illegal aliens in the United States have immigrated for the purpose of having a better life, providing for their families, and escaping from poverty. These are good goals and motivations. However, these reasons do not give a person the right to break a law. Those seeking to immigrate to the United States (or any other country), should obey the immigration laws of that country. While this will cause delays and frustrations, again, these reasons do not give a person the right to break a law. (Thursday Nov 12 | post #28)

However, he also says to follow man's laws, and his 10 Commandments are pretty clear... "Thou shalt not steal" and that does not exclude other peoples identities. "Thou shalt not bear false witness (lie)" and that does not exclude lying about who you are and presenting fraudulent papers to obtain jobs or benefits. "Thou shalt not covet thy neighbors goods", that does not exclude government benefits paid by American tax payers for the use of American Citizens, nor does it exclude citizenship in this country, medical care, and an American Education. if you don't like Mexicans moving here
Ha ha ha ha! And what, you're going to make us? I think not. Mexicans belong in Mexico. Americans belong in the United States. 'Nuff said. (Thursday Nov 12 | post #2822)
if you don't like Mexicans moving here
LMAO! So, because you work to take care of your family you think you're exempt from the law? OMG! ROTFLMAO! Too funny. Most Americans work to take care of their families and, yet, if they break the law and the consequence is jail or prison, THEY HAVE TO GO, NO MATTER IF THEY ARE SEPARATED FROM THEIR FAMILY. At least illegals have the option of taking their families with them. You're apparently dumb as a rock. A free country does not mean everything here is free or that anyone and everyone can come here just because they want to. It means that those people here -- citizens and legal residents -- have many freedoms that are not afforded to people in other countries. In order to enjoy those freedoms YOU MUST FOLLOW THE LAW. When citizens break the law and end up in jail or prison, MANY OF THOSE FREEDOMS ARE TAKEN AWAY BECAUSE THEY CHOSE TO BE CRIMINALS -- THEY CHOSE TO BREAK THE LAW. You're not very bright. That's obvious. Working one's butt off is not a valid reason to break the law. So sorry for you, but it's just not. Follow the laws, or get your illegal, scum*bag arse back home. We don't want or need illegal aliens here. You might work, but at the same time, you're popping out tons of anchor rats so you can get on the government dole, and ultimately you cost us more than you'll ever contribute to this country. Be gone! (Thursday Nov 12 | post #2821)
if you don't like Mexicans moving here
We personally don't care what you think, as our Federal Statutes (immigration laws) don't agree with you. No one is "getting taken away" because people don't like them. (Too lazy to spell out a whole word are you?!) The people are being deported BECAUSE THEY BROKE THE LAW, AND THAT IS THE CONSEQUENCE OF WALKING OVER OUR BORDER ILLEGALLY. Here's a novel idea: If you don't want to be separated from your family, DON'T SNEAK INTO THIS COUNTRY ILLEGALLY and, if you choose to be an illegal alien scum*bag, then DON'T START A FAMILY. Don't bring a family into the mess you've made of your own life. If you choose to do both -- sneak into the country and start a family to bring it into your mess, then be prepared to take responsibility for your law breaking and for the consequences, which means you'll be deported. Take your family with you if you want to stay together. Do you see us doing the boo hoo routine for citizens who break the law and have to suffer the consequences of going to jail or prison? Do you see us letting them out so they are not separated from their family? No, of course not, as that is absurd. Get your head out of your anal orifice. We have laws. Follow them and be fine. Don't follow them, and be prepared to accept the consequences. Illegal aliens bring this on themselves by refusing to follow the laws! Place blame where it's due -- on the person breaking the law, not on someone enforcing it. And you wonder why we don't want you here? You have a criminal mindset -- you have a lawless attitude, and we don't need or want that here. (Thursday Nov 12 | post #2820)
A shrinking population: If Latinos are leaving, where are they ...
Please post your proof of 125 year wait to come here, legally, from Mexico. On top of that, even if it is true, perhaps THEY BROUGHT IT ON THEMSELVES! What is happening now is unfair to all other countries. They have way too many people here as it is, making the balance totally unbalanced. No matter what, we just plain don't reward law breaking. If I work hard to break into your house and scrub your toilet, will I be allowed to stay and you'll support me? I think not. These people knew there was a legal way to come and they ignored it. That is not OUR problem, nor should we be forced to pay for it. They need to go home. (Thursday Nov 12 | post #520)
A shrinking population: If Latinos are leaving, where are they ...
It would be MORE costly to legalize them. Why? You might ask...well, let me tell you... If we legalize illegals and they began to pay taxes and use services like legal immigrants with the same level of education, the cost would go through the roof. An unskilled illegal immigrant is costly but an unskilled legal immigrant is a fiscal disaster because, although presumably he is being paid on the books and he pays his taxes like he’s supposed to, he is now eligible for everything (government benefits), or a lot of things, but he still doesn't make any money. That’s the problem. The reason immigrants create a fiscal cost is not because they are illegal. They create a fiscal cost because they have very little education and people with very little education don’t pay much in taxes, because they don’t make very much. But they tend to use a lot in services. If we legalize them, it makes the problem much worse. Think about this: every unskilled worker who’s paid on the books mostly gets our Earned Income Tax Credit. That means that every unskilled worker comes with a bill. That’s one of the reasons the costs explode so much if you legalize illegal immigrants. Right now, let's estimate that illegals are getting one-tenth of what they would be entitled to (if they were legal) but if they began to get the EIT fee like legal immigrants, with the same level of education, well, the costs would go up 10 fold. That’s a welfare program that’s very expensive. (Thursday Nov 12 | post #519)
A shrinking population: If Latinos are leaving, where are they ...
The ones who qualified to stay were made legal in 1986, which is the same time we changed the majority of the laws. We didn't have them here legally and then passed laws to make them illegal. That's absurd to even suggest, not to mention a downright lie. No, most would not be a good part of our community. MOST are low/no educated from Mexico that will ALWAYS take more than they will ever contribute. They are unable to contribute more. According to Nobel laureate economist Paul Krugman, "low-skilled immigrants do not earn enough money to cover the cost of government benefits they receive." In essence, businesses are making-out like bandits while U.S. taxpayers--whom they won't hire--pay for the government entitlements drawn by immigrants--legal and illegal. Moreover, more than 25% of illegal immigrants lack the equivalent of a high school education, compared to 9% of American citizens. The Heritage Foundation found that low-skilled immigrants use far more dollars worth of goverment services than they pay in taxes. Further, the Foundation determined that the average low-skilled immigrant household costs the American taxpayer $19,588 per year. (Thursday Nov 12 | post #518)
