Who do you support for Lieutenant Governor in Louisiana i...

I'm really lost here. I don't think either of these choices are the best of the bunch. But I'm giving my vote for Fayard. I like her take on BP and would like to see someone go after these companies again. She's right on by saying if they're going to make bank off of our soils and gulf then they should absolutely invest in having permanent offices that offer jobs here.  (Oct 15, 2010 | post #59)

Our towns have slowly been dying for years all the while, Rodney Alexander has been in office. It's time for a new set of eyes and representation.  (Oct 15, 2010 | post #6)

Who do you support for U.S. Senate in Louisiana in 2010?

I am sick of Vitter...I've been writing and sending regular emails to him for over two years and have yet to recieve ONE reply that shows any sense of growing in his mindset. As far as I'm concerned he's set in his thought process and hypocrisies. I'm voting Melancon with the hope that a new face will result in some new changes and attitude.  (Oct 15, 2010 | post #204)

O.J. Simpson

How ironic it happened 13 years to the day that he was aquitted for killing his wife and her friend. Sentencing is in December. Do you guys think he'll get "life"?  (Oct 4, 2008 | post #5)

Meth and drugs

Is there any proof that the cops in your area are dirty? I'm not doubting you, Jonesboro has had crooked cops that the public was aware of. If you've got proof or reasonable suspicions and you've contacted the FBI and they've shown no interests, have you thought about contacting the news media? You can do it anonymously if you're worried about repercussions.  (Sep 29, 2008 | post #19)

Bringing this topic up HELPS because it lets the neighbors who do not necessarily talk to one another every day or week still discuss the issue. And I would have to assume that it helps give an insight to the ones who live there that do not know what goes on. If you would read on you would see that “legal action” has been taken and the chips have fallen, that’s the point of this topic. However much truth is out in the open does not guarantee that justice will prevail. And OMG are you serious? Pray for the leaders??? I have to say ‘P P’, I’ve been praying for Bush Jr. since he illegally invaded Iraq and began running our country through the dirt while selling us off to China and that idiot will be in the White House till the end with no justice in sight! So you keep praying and pray for us too, meanwhile, I suspect this conversation will go on and hopefully more people will join in. I believe there’s a lot more power in numbers than there is with prayer in matters such as this.  (Sep 27, 2008 | post #36)

Coushatta man found guilty of burning 5-year-old to death

In cases like this, we should forget our cruel and unusual punishment stance on these kinds of criminals. I would gladly throw the first stone or pull the chair. I hope he gets the death penalty.  (Sep 27, 2008 | post #2)

Meth and drugs

Jeez people...Wildchild is Jesse Culpepper and his GF's name is Jamie. I don't know what they do or don't do but for those of you who want to talk $hit about others...OWN IT! If you know so much about them especially when there are kids involved who have been taken away from them because of their "drug affiliations" then you put it out there to the cops instead of the gossip terminal you're hinting on. If they are "back in business" then the courts need to know, at least for the kids sake.  (Sep 27, 2008 | post #11)

new car

(Just for laughs)Does the mayor's husband still drive the Chrysler convertible around with his cowboy and indian toys glued all around the hood and a pair of horns attached to the grill? And what about the bridge, that doesn't even looked damaged, in front of her house closing off the road? It's been that way for a long time. What's up with that?  (Sep 26, 2008 | post #10)

If the Paper Mill could be converted to something else......

I think it would be great if the mill could get into green technology producing something equivalent to solar panels. Not only is the demand there, but the possiblities of such new technology seem endless.  (Sep 11, 2008 | post #4)

If the Paper Mill could be converted to something else......

IF it were possible, what do you think would be a suitable replacement or merge? Keeping in mind things like, number of potential employees, benefits to the community, environmental responsibilities, growth or expenditures to convert.  (Sep 10, 2008 | post #1)

New Age

Were the ancient god's from another planet ?

I don't think they were lil' green men. Possibly grays. But yes, I think anything is possible.  (Aug 31, 2008 | post #3)

Suicide

I agree with you Chris. I feel like when one resorts to suicide they are then reborn into a life with just as many difficulties and unanswered questions as the one they chose to leave behind. That's part of the lesson. To learn to deal with the factors that trouble them so much.  (Aug 31, 2008 | post #3)

Do you like Sarah Palin as McCains VP?

EASY…. Eyes…No where in my comment did I mention he had life threatening conditions. The man is 72. And yes, I am aware and have looked at his doctor’s statement stating that he is in very good health. However, I still find it feasible that there is a CHANCE he could stroke out. It is MY opinion and MY concern. Obama’s smoking is also concern as is the chance that he would more likely have an assassination attempt. I would feel more comfortable with Biden being the replacement than with Palin. I’m just one person-one vote.  (Aug 30, 2008 | post #433)

Do you like Sarah Palin as McCains VP?

McCain’s choice is obviously an appeal tactic for the still p-ode Hillary backers. I do have concerns though, all joking aside, McCain is old and has had health problems before so naturally there is a CHANCE he could kill over while in office. I’m not sure Palin would be capable to take over. I know she’d have all the advisors and what-not but in the end, it would be her decisions. Besides the war, what could she have to offer our nation’s economic stand point? Maybe if she came from a larger populated state with problems that are in essence closer to those of our country I’d feel a bit better about it. I think those concerns are legit. I can’t speak much more on it as I’ve not had a chance to thoroughly read up on her. I wish he’d made another choice. Had to add - Don’t you know Hillary is pissed! After all the hard work she put in and didn’t get a spot on the ticket and here comes Miss Alaska out of nowhere sitting happy with John McCain.  (Aug 30, 2008 | post #423)
