Fitchburg man faces child-porn charges - Sentinel & Enter...

Agreed...you are all assuming this guy is already a **** offender. Until he is convicted in court of a sexual offense and registered as a **** offender he is not going to show up on any **** offender list unless maybe he has a prior conviction.  (Jan 20, 2011 | post #11)

LEOMINSTER -- A fight over the last slice of pizza landed...

This is one of the most poorly written stories ever... Who was fighting over the lat piece of pizza? What does the girl's mother have to do with anything? Why were they kicking the car? What happened to the gun? Who is the new roommate? Wow...such a cliffhanger...mayb e they will do a follow-up story to address all these unanswered questions.  (Jan 6, 2011 | post #1)

Mazzarella, Rosa tussle over petition - Sentinel & Enterp...

"...Hey Jackass - the Mayor just submitted the same type of petition except he wanted eight licenses with virtually no specific details..." The Mayor's petition required the petitioner to go before the license commission to get a license which is what every person in the state has to do. You bring your details to the license commission and they determine whether or not you get a license. Why are people so quick to get off topic and start making themselves sound like "jackasses "?  (Dec 21, 2010 | post #37)

Leominster attorney indicted - Sentinel & Enterprise

"...Sojcher was suspended from practice on Nov. 16, 2006, and disbarred on June 28, 2007, according to the Massachusetts Board of Bar Overseers website." So why does the headline refer to him as an attorney from Leominster? Does he still live in Leominster? His property was in Braintree and Malden.  (Dec 21, 2010 | post #1)

Why don't you use names? Why badmouth the Mayor and just hide behind this type of forum. If you have info on something the Mayor did for his "friend" then why not share? You can all criticize the Mayor all day long but the fact is you can look next door to Fitchburg or Gardner or anywhere in the area and see that thanks to our Mayor Leominster is in the best financial position its ever been in. The City Council is full of guys/girls that come and go year after year...the Mayor has been there for years and things only get better each year. How many downtowns in the area are as clean as Leominsters? How many cities or towns have any sort of stabilization fund? Why does every article in the paper turn into an Anti-Mazzarella party? How about one of you get out there and challenge him for Mayor. And before you all start, yes I'm a supporter of the Mayor.  (Dec 17, 2010 | post #21)

Mazzarella, Rosa tussle over petition - Sentinel & Enterp...

This is really not about the process or the policy, it's about the need for another bar/restaurant. The reason for the license, according to Xarras, is that he needs a place for the employees of the businesses in Union Products to go. The question to ask is does that area need another bar/restaurant. If you look approximately 1 mile each way of that location you have the following places...Maranda's (Bar, maybe food), Paisanos (Bar, Rest), Gondola (Bar Rest), small brazillian place next to Paisanos (name ?), Taco Loco (Rest), Scoreboards (Bar, Rest), Texas Roadhouse (Bar, Rest)...that's seven places for employees at Union Products to choose from to eat and/or drink. I just don't see why everybody is pushing for bar/rest #8 in an already saturated area. Sure Xarras has the right to open a bar/restaurant but to use the Home Rule Petiion process is misleading the state into thinking there is a need in that area. The decision should lie with the license commission on this spot.  (Dec 16, 2010 | post #2)

Some question whether city officials should receive benef...

Sorry Councilors, this is not acceptable. You are not employees of the city. You chose to serve the city on this board. It's one thing to take a small salary (which is questionable as well) but to think that you deserve health benefits is just wrong. At this point why not offer insurance to the Planning Board, School Committee, Conservation Commission, etc...Another example of wasteful spending and big government at work.  (Nov 28, 2010 | post #7)

Detox centers could take hit - Sentinel & Enterprise

I say we start charging for use of the detox centers. What, they can't afford the treatment??? I bet if the treatment center closes a lot of the users will find a way to afford to go back out there and buy more heroin.  (Nov 17, 2010 | post #1)

Benson pitches business delegation for Mexico City - Sent...

How many businesses in the 37th Middlesex districk does Rep. Benson believe are going to benefit from her time spent working on this? Wouldn't the State Rep's time be better spent on bringing funding to her district, working with the local businesses to create jobs, and maybe helping the local school district? How about focus on Boxborough, Shirley, Lunenburg, etc...and leave International Trade to the experts.  (Nov 16, 2010 | post #2)
