Edna Jackson Announces Candidacy for Savannah Mayor

Wow!! A quick look at Edna's resume leaves me pretty surprised she, or anyone with an ounce of intelligence, finds her a suitable candidate for mayor. No college education, coupled with zero work experience in the private sector, or "real world", tells me that this is probably not the person I would want to entrust with our local leadership in these troubled economic times. 30 years of feeding at the trough of a state government job qualifies you to receive a fat pension with great benefits. However, it does not qualify you to hold the highest electable office in our city. In addition to her lack of education and experience, Mrs. Jackson is a current member of the city council that made a disgusting display of it self in the embarrassing debacle that was the city manger search. Please use a little common sense when you cast your vote come November!!  (Mar 23, 2011 | post #1)

Savannah City Council to Discuss City Manager Contract

This whole process with the City Manager, and the City Council, has shown us just how inept our elected officials are. Toney was not the most qualified candidate up for the position. After the elections later this year I hope the new council will remedy this problem in 2012. I expect a pretty heavy voter turn out in the November elections, and let's hope the people clean the council slate, from the mayor on down. The one Alderman I hope not only stays, but runs for, and wins the mayoral race, is Alderman Larry Stuber. Stuber has shown the most common sense, and his resume, and very impressive business background is what our city needs at this time.  (Mar 14, 2011 | post #1)
