Actually it is you that misunderstands the 1st amendment. As like most new age atheist you think it says there will be no religion in public places. But that was not the intent or purpose of the freedom OF religion statement. 99% of what you whine about has nothing to do with the intent of the first amendment Freedom of Religion. The important feature of the 14th Amendment was that the banning of a religious test and the free exercise of religion which were formerly applied only to Congress became applicable also to the states. in 1961 The SCOTUS caseTorcaso v Watkins pertaining to state religious tests This ruling by the U.S. Supreme Court makes all of the Religious tests for offices in the various States Unconstitutional. So in essence what you are saying is the Majority should always yield to the minority?? That is actually the problem now a days the, the thoughts of a Few demand to outweigh the thoughts of the many. You claim discrimination for your non-belief yet. You are Not Banned from public office. You are not banned from Public schools. You are not Charged more Taxes for your non- belief.
