2 injured when deer hits motorcycle

Lol! Your too funny... I guess picture yourself as a baseball player and wonder? Would it hurt less to get hit by a 80 mph pitch or by a 60 mph pitch? Both would hurt, but the slower speed ball may not break whatever it hits. Considering my bike weighes all of 700 pounds, a 200 pound deer sure would hurt a bunch more at 100 mph than 70 mph maybe. Who knows what the outcome may be??? I'm glad that I could make you smile though.  (14 hrs ago | post #24)

Yes I'm kidding, but it would be better to hit a deer at 70 than 100. Either way the threat of a dangerous outcome is there. I cross my fingers every time I jump on my bike. I ride until snow starts sticking to the road. I know the risk and except that. I do slow down to allow myself a better chance to be seen by a deer. With any luck I will not have one run out in front of me. I hit a Turkey at the beginning of the season this year and held on for my life! To my surprize, I only felt a little bump under my front tire...  (15 hrs ago | post #18)

I know it does not matter to most, but running at or a little below the 70 mph speed limit will help greatly. I ride until the snow falls and have learned after a couple close calls to give myself more travel time & slow down. At 70 it would be like hitting a parked car. At 90 it would be like hitting a large tree. I also installed deer whistles on the front of my bike. Do not know for sure if they work??? But I have not had a deer cross my path since I installed them. Hope these folks make it though ok.  (17 hrs ago | post #5)

Beer can helps catch robber

I she would have had a gun. I have shared the knowledge of how to point and pull the trigger with my wife many times! Its my hope if anything like this were to ever happen to her, they would be taking the intruder out in a body bag! That is what intruders deserve!  (Wednesday Oct 1 | post #23)

Fremont man dies in motorcycle-car crash

Now I have to post, not to bash, but to educate. The Alibi Bar is Twin Lake, MI only 12 miles from Muskegon. They will send a Taxi 12 miles for customer pickup. I do not understand what folks are thinking when they leave a bar drunk. It was not closing time, it was early evening. She must have spent the day there hoping to get picked up? If not, she is maybe thinking now that she wishes that she were picked up. To the Family that has suffered such a great loss, I send my thoughts for you to speed through your loss.  (Tuesday Sep 23 | post #14)

Liquor clerk sentenced; parents unhappy

My parents brought me up teaching me the highest in values and common sense. Everything I did growing up was my own choice. Some of those choices did not reflect well on my parents, because they taught me to know better! Its not the Parents fault, nor the Clerk, or store which sold it to them. Again everyone has to have someone to blame. Its the person or person's which made the choice that's at fault! My gosh people get real!  (Sep 5, 2008 | post #18)

Liquor clerk sentenced; parents unhappy

Its choices which haunt us, not who we can lay blame to! I purchased beer while a young teen, but chose not to drive! I wish kids would use their heads when attending a party... Its really not the stores fault or the person who sold the beer. Its the choice the indivisuals made who purchased and then jumped behind the wheel of a car. Why do people live their lives blaming everyone else for the actions they chose on their own??? We live in a blaming nation which rarely points at ourselves! I feel for the family and their loss, but we have to stop blaming others for choices. Everyone just about can remember back when we were teens and made poor choices in what we did. Its called growing up. Sorry for the loss. Just my opinion!  (Sep 5, 2008 | post #2)
