Perez throws hitless innings in Florida

3 innings, 56 pitches, 4 walks and people are saying he looked good? He allowed no hits because nothing was over the plate. Minor leaguers swinging at bad pitches and he still needs 56 pitches and walks three in three? He still stinks. Why aren't they talking about his fastball velocity?  (May 17, 2009 | post #4)

Santos has been a major find for Mets

Not bad for a guy picked off of the Yankee scrap heap. I think they would prefer him over Jose Molina.  (May 12, 2009 | post #1)

Mets win seventh in row, sweep Pirates

Yankees will be fine. Playoff fine..probably. Mets will be fine, NL east champ fine at least. Philly doesn't have the pitching and Mets have the better bullpen. Good win against a poor team. Exactly the type of win a good team should get.  (May 10, 2009 | post #13)

Mets win sixth straight in a rare laugher

There is no setting up. There is lousy pitching from the rotation. It's basic baseball at this moment. Ain't no sting going on..  (May 9, 2009 | post #6)

Mets win sixth straight in a rare laugher

It's 5 in a row. It's Maine, Pelfrey, Hernandez and Santana with consecutive quality starts and the offense starting to show life. This is big and gonna get bigger.  (May 9, 2009 | post #3)

Mets ponder what to do with struggling Perez

I agree, DL Perez, start Dee OR Tak with whomever doesn't start and Stokes as backup. Long term will have to be a minor league assignment. Since Ollie doesn't believe in self preservation, the Mets will have to do it for him. 30 day boot camp in St. Lucie and a brainwash job. Wax the exterior, vacumm the interior and let's start anew.  (May 3, 2009 | post #2)

NFL player accompanies Copiague boy to school

Nice to see a Jet player driving to a school with a student as opposed to to beating up bar patrons and urinating in sinks at Long Island bars. Great story.  (Apr 26, 2009 | post #22)

Mets' Garcia better, but still struggling

Every indication is that Santana is fine, just may miss the opener. Worse case scenario, Garcia does not slide into the rotation at all. You still have Niese, Livan, or Redding to compete for 4 and 5 in the rotation without involving Garcia.  (Mar 4, 2009 | post #5)

Mets rising star Parnell's got stuff to make team

Parnells should be in the bullpen. Dump anyone over 30 that threatens to take his place.  (Feb 21, 2009 | post #6)

Copiague schools cook up award-winning meals

I graduated in 1978 from Copiague High School. I am impressed with the effort, but not surprised as this school district is still top notch.  (Feb 16, 2009 | post #1)

Jets deny report GM gave Favre 'months' to decide

They need to let Brett leave. Retire or release, but lets not be held hostage by the ego that held Green Bay hostage for three seasons before he got to NY. He will not participate in off-season activities. He has not in Green Bay and he won't in NY. End the mystery, let him go his own way.  (Feb 1, 2009 | post #1)

Knicks' Eddy Curry 'devastated' by murder of ex

I hate to say it, but I thought the same thing. Kill mom, an infant, but leave Eddie's kid alive? The three year old that may or not may not provide a clue? I'm probably wrong and it's all on the guy who fathered the 9 month old..maybe?  (Jan 25, 2009 | post #18)

Jets' Ryan could be blend of his dad and Parcells

As a Jet fan, I'm pessimistic. As a Jets fan, I'm excited. Rex is exactly what this franchise has needed. No nonsense, enthusiastic, born and bred in football. I think he is the real deal.  (Jan 21, 2009 | post #1)
