Why does God want us to Forgive?

cont. from above: I will also help you to have a better attitude because you won't be carrying that hatefulness inside of you. You must have been hurt awfully bad. But I want you to know that your unforgiveness is hurting you much more than the perpetrator. Most people have a hard time forgiving someone when they've carried unforgiveness for a long time. However, instead of having hateful thoughts toward him (or her), begin to vision (in your mind) that you are talking to Him after you have already forgiven him. Picture a good conversation coming about. Allow this to settle in your heart over a period of time. It would be hard to try to change your heart all at once because of the hateful feelings that have resided there for so long, but if you feed your heart with an opposing vision, you'll begin to see the difference and you will soon be able to forgive him conpletely, AND you will be free from those hateful feelings and your the bad tude you carry. It will free YOU up.  (Jul 22, 2013 | post #4)

Why does God want us to Forgive?

God wants us to forgive because unforgiveness is sin. However, just because we forgive someone, that doesn't mean that we have to associate or trust them again. Why is that? Just because you have forgiven someone for their offence against you, doesn't mean that they've changed! They might still be going around hurting others. But your forgiveness of their offence against you will free up more of your heart for Christ to dwell in.  (Jul 22, 2013 | post #3)

FAITH IN CHRIST AND HIM ALONE is what Saves!

To L.O.G.: If you did not receive the Spirit of God into your heart by faith when you believed on the Lord Jesus Christ, how then did you receive Him? Besides, you write an awful lot like the "Prophet of Jesus Christ"!  (Jul 22, 2013 | post #20)

FAITH IN CHRIST AND HIM ALONE is what Saves!

When you hear the Gospel message, if you will put your faith in Christ you will be saved. Why is that? Because Heaven is not for sale! You cannot earn your way to Heaven. Your faith must be in Christ and Him crucified, which means, the work that He did FOR YOU on the cross, not in your on good works. If your faith is in your own good works, that is a slap in the face to God because you're telling Him that what His son Jesus did on the cross for you, was not enough, and you intend to make up the balance of necessary work to get you there! Good works are good, that's why they're called GOOD works. But at the moment we try to offer them up to God as a way of "earning " Heaven, God pushes them aside and calls them filthy rags! Going to church is good, paying tithes is good, helping one another is good, giving money to needy people and organizations is good. But when we try putting our faith in our good works instead of in Christ and the work that He did FOR US on the cross, it is at that moment that we fall short of God's only requirement for Heaven, which is faith in His Son, the Holy One of Israel. You must learn to keep your good works on one side of your heart, and your faith in Christ on the other. Never allow the two to mix! God does reward us for our good works but they cannot be used to get us into Heaven. It is faith in Christ and Him alone that can save. Our good works should come from a heart that is thankful for what Christ did for us, not from one that is trying to "earn" Heaven!  (Jul 21, 2013 | post #1)

To PJC, Your Accusations Against Gospel Singers

To PJC: Are your accusations against Gospel singers any different than a pastor receiving a salary for his services? Those who sing Gospel music find themselves needing a lot of funding for the heavy cost incurred for purchasing the needed equipment, air time, renting coliseums and such. Who are you to judge those whom God has chosen to bless abundantly because of being able to work “through them” to bless others? You have said on occasion that you are not Born-again and that you just like arguing with Christians, but that is wrong. No one could know the things of the God that you do without having once been enlightened. Your speech bewrayeth you! You come against the children of God to your own destruction. Having once walked with the Master yourself, but never giving Him your whole heart, you now fight against the anointing in those who continue on with Him, those who have not given up the good fight of faith. You now fight hard against that which you once loved, driving yourself further from His mercy with each step. But still, God is not angry with you, it’s just that you have turned yourself from Him because you couldn’t get fully committed, and probably didn’t know how to. I believe the reason you fell away is because you struggled to give God your whole heart. Not knowing how to continue on with God and gain the victory, not submitting to God means there’s something you’re holding on to, possibly hurt. People who have very hard, destructive childhoods are usually the ones who find it the hardest to commit completely from their heart. They seldom have a deep relationship of any kind because they can’t get by (won’t let go of) the problems within. They find it hard to open up and trust God with their deep hurts and therefore they stay shallow because they won’t let anyone in the depth of their heart. The Fear of the Lord tends to life. You have lost your Fear of the Lord which is the beginning of true wisdom and also is a reverential, respectful fear which submits to His will when His Spirit moves upon you. Fearing God because of punishment for a sinful life is not the same as the true Fear of the Lord which leads to falling before God with a broken and contrite heart and pleading for mercy, “though He slay me, yet will I trust Him”. Carnal fear is merely the fear of impending judgment (which we all know we deserve), and will not enable us to thrust ourselves upon God with an open heart, trusting Him for mercy when we know He could slay us. You must trust Him! If you want all of God, you must give God all of you!  (Jun 8, 2013 | post #1)

why after sex i dont feel like myslef

The reason you feel that way would have to be that you're not married! Reguardless of what this world with all of it's permissive ways is telling you, it is wrong, and that is what you're conscience is telling you! God has given mankind three lights: 1. God says that no man can look at My creation and honestly say from his heart, there is no God. 2. The light of conscience. When you sin, you know it in your conscience ! 3. The Gospel of Jesus Christ. If you disreguard the first two, and reject the third, there remains no other way for God to reach you! Hebrews chp. 13: 4 KJV says "The bed is undefiled in marriage." God gave mankind sex, which includes the strong drive for it, along with desires and the good feelings of it, for the guaranteed continuance of the human race. He also gave us sex for the purpose of a man and woman who are married to each other, to be able to draw closer to each other than any other relationship they would have among friends, acquaintances, etc. The scripture above: "The bed is undefiled in marriage" means that a husband and wife (married to each other, of course) can do anything they so desire, as long as no one is being hurt, and no one is being forced beyond what they want to do. The bed is undefiled in marriage, and is actually blessed! Outside the perimeters of married however, it is sin! ! ! God never meant for mankind to run around getting their sexual needs met with whoever they happen to take a liking to. Outside of marriage, sex is forbidden by God. Consider the countless abortions that take place each year! Unborn babies are slaughtered as they're taken from the womb because women are told that what is in there is just a blob of tissue. I honestly believe that life begins at conception. I believe that at the moment the seed from a man and woman meet, a spirit is created by the procreation process that God has established. Whether He is the One Who creates it at that moment, or it happens automatically (as a law set in force by Him) I do not know. But this much I do believe with all my heart, that the spirit of a man does not jump into the body at birth! Therefore, life begins at conception! ! !  (Apr 6, 2013 | post #2)

Why did Jesus fail?

To: Mr.Mxyzptik: I wonder if you speak of Mohammed, Buddha, Harry Krishna, John Smith, and the others the way you speak of Christ. When the heathen howl, it's interesting to note that it's seldom against one of their own when it comes to religion. I wonder how much of the Koran you know, but you seem so well versed on the Bible. It would seem fruitless to fight against these others that I've mentioned because why fight against something that's already dead? Think about it! Voltaire, the French atheist use to draw great crowds as he would stand in fields and shake his fist at God using every fowl word imaginable and daring God to strike Him dead if He really existed! He was much like you. He spent his last days in an insane asylum. The nurse who was assigned to his care at his end would often find him huddled in a corner on the floor when she entered his room. He would be swinging his arms wildly trying to bat away the demons that he said were closing in on him. The frightful horror that was on this man's face while she worked with him caused his nurse to say “I wouldn't watch another infidel die for all the riches in Europe!” What kind of shape do you think he's been in all this time ? ? ? Yes, there are those who speak against God on this Forum, and some even blaspheme, but I must say that after glossing over your above posts (and glossing was all I could handle) your hardness to the Gospel and toward God Himself could very well be unparallelled on this site! It is frightening. God would not strike Voltaire down because salvation was for him as much as everyone else, regardless of crimes or sins committed. But Voltaire had hardened his heart against God by his continual blaspheming to the point that it was no longer possible for him to put his faith in Christ. You push away from you what you speak against! There are a lot of people on here that have fallen from their first estate (in Christ) because of wrong teachings etc, and who now fight hard against what they once loved. But that doesn't mean that God is fighting against THEM. God is married to the backslider and works to regain their confidence, but it is harder the second time round because that still small voice they once trusted has been put off to the side because they tried to KEEP their salvation thru works, after ATTAINING IT by faith. But it is kept, the same way it is received, by faith in Christ and the work that He did FOR us on the cross, not in our own works! You must keep the faith in your heart separated from the good works that you do. The one brings salvation, the other blessings! The door is still open . . . . .  (Mar 29, 2013 | post #8)

I Boast in The Glory of My God

Works DO NOT justify us before God. If He really does live in our heart, then good works will come forth form our life, my brother. But they do not justify us! Received you Christ by the works of the law or by faith?  (Mar 11, 2013 | post #15)

I Boast in The Glory of My God

Righteousness is imputed to us, the moment we put our faith in Jesus Christ and the work that He did FOR us on the cross. Our own works are as filthy rags IF we try to use them as leverage to get us an eternal home in Heaven. It is God's grace that provides opportunity for us to put our faith in His Son Jesus Christ. If you stood before a judge who was about to condemn you for your crimes, and he looked over at the Bailiff and nodded to Him, and the Bailiff disappeared and soon brought out a man who was beaten and bruised mercilessly, you would be frightened at the sight, but would be relieved when the Judge said to you "This man took the punishment for your crimes, you are free to go! This is what Jesus Christ did for you on the cross! God is saying that if you want to come to My Heaven you must acknowledge that it was My Son Who made it possible for you to do so. The moment you put your faith in Christ rather than in your own works or your own church, you are righteous before God!  (Mar 11, 2013 | post #10)

God recognizes whatever marriage you are currently in. He would not ask some one to break off their divorce their current spouse and re-marry to someone to whom your's of her love for their spouse died out. God hates divorce, but recognizes the current marrriage a person is in, reguardless of the circumstances the marriage occurred under. Adultery is certainly wrong, but when another marrys under this circumstance, it is adultery the first time they join in sex, after that, it is not wrong because God recognizes the current marriage. They DO NOT live a life of adultery as in their marriage!  (Mar 11, 2013 | post #13)

The "Saved by Grace Not By Works" Christians

TO PJC: Yes, you're right. I apologize. But good works that are done with the intention of trying to earn Heaven, something that was already earned for us, is fruitless, as to it's intentions.  (Mar 11, 2013 | post #10)

The "Saved by Grace Not By Works" Christians

If our heart is right, it will bring forth right works. Everybody in this world does good works at one time or another. But if our good works are not coming forth from faith, it's because our faith is dead! The world's good works are worthless for eternity, and a BAC's good works are worthless as well, if they're not being produced by faith. ANYONE can do good works, but unless they're coming forth from faith, they're worthless! Faith without works is dead. That means, if a Christians good works aren't faith-produced, it's because our faith is dead and someone is backslidden  (Mar 11, 2013 | post #4)
