March 2016 Profit Sharing

2016 profit sharing will be based on the old formula. The new formula doesn't start til 2017 per contract.  (Dec 2, 2015 | post #9)

Good news WTAP will not get seniority rights to shap when...

I don't think they understand how long they will have been laid off when everyone with high Senority gets there. Everyone will be on the same playing field and Senority will rule. That's just the way it goes. I think they think that 1 day the 200 will leave and magically the next day the truck appears. There will be downtime  (Oct 27, 2015 | post #65)

WTAP and SHAP news layoffs

yes they will have 3 shifts. They build 72 an hour with 3 shifts now and the line doesn't stop for anything. Just ask the guy that got his foot crushed last week. The line didn't stop. When they closed stl that left 1 plant and sales weren't what they are today. Even with 3 shifts and Sunday's they can't keep up with demand.  (Oct 7, 2015 | post #21)

WTAP and SHAP news layoffs

hey my husband has 97 and will go to shap but you guys have to take into consideration that some of those guys don't want days. My husband loves c shift now and I'm sure with the pay for Saturday then he will still want c. So just because someone can hold days doesn't mean they want it. Everyone needs to just calm down because this isn't even suppose to happen til 2018. I'm sure there will be temporary layoffs for shap while they are retooling for the truck.  (Sep 24, 2015 | post #11)

This is a GREAT contract

yeah that's the trade off for you getting a 3 day weekend every week. My husband has almost 20 yrs and chooses to work c shift because it works better for our family and he gets more ot opportunities on c shift. If you can hold days then I'm sure you could bump to b or c shift.  (Sep 20, 2015 | post #49)

Uaw Workers Must Read

Well I guess if the company offers you that opportunity then you would have a choice to make. I seriously doubt they would. Mexico already knows how to build a CAR. Building a truck needs experienced people that have been doing it for many years. I can totally understand your frustration because my family has been tossed around several times. This business is feast or famine. Over the last 20 yrs of my husbands career in the beginning working 1 week on and 1 week off then finally getting full time to being laid off then him working so much that we never saw him then him getting laid off for 7 months and going through a plant closing then getting transferred for 3 months to belvedere not knowing if he was going to wtap then having 1 week to get here and now following the truck again, well it's been overwhelming. This career isn't for everyone. FAIR isn't in the car manufacturing vocabulary.  (Sep 20, 2015 | post #25)

if you move with your product then you keep your Senority. This will be my husbands 3rd move with that truck. If you move with your product or a plant closing, that's the ONLY way to keep it.  (Sep 20, 2015 | post #23)

It's also going to be an overflow plant for the grand cherokee. I believe the RAM long bed will be coming back from Mexico  (Sep 20, 2015 | post #25)

Building a car and building a truck are 2 different things. The RAM is their bread and butter and their going to want that transition to be as smooth as possible. Trust me this will be my husbands 3rd move with that truck.  (Sep 19, 2015 | post #24)

You will have been laid off for some time when wtap people get there. The 200 will have to leave first so they can retool for the truck. They can't stop the line for the truck so as soon as sterling is ready for the truck then they will give you what's called a call back. It will take 3 shifts. If you do have lower Senority then you very well could go to warren because it's also going to be a overflow plant for the grand cherokee along with the new wagoneer. Look building a truck and building a car are 2 very different things. The reason the union let's people transferring with their product is because of the knowledge of that vehicle. The RAM is their bread and butter and they will want it's transition as smooth as possible. My husband has already been through a move with the truck. I do know what I'm talking about.  (Sep 19, 2015 | post #23)

I do understand your frustration over people from other plants coming in and bumping and getting their Senority because my husband was bumped when Alabama and Indiana came to stl plant but the fact is if you transfer with the exact product you're building, you keep your Senority. Now if you transfer to a plant without your product and without a plant CLOSED status, you start day 1senority. The reason for this is they can't have people that have never built a truck just do it and they know that no one would transfer with 20 something yrs without their Senority.  (Sep 18, 2015 | post #2)

Tier 2 should walk off the line

Looks like you won't be able to opt out if the Healthcare goes through because it will be union run. If you opt out of union then you won't be eligible for Healthcare.  (Sep 17, 2015 | post #5)

Opt out paying union dues

Oh I'm sure a list will accidently hit the floor and if you think you will get the same representation that a paying union person gets than you are WRONG. But good luck with that thought  (Jul 16, 2015 | post #15)
