Court Dismisses Lawsuit From Fired Clerk Who Refused To P...

Please, just let it go for now. Ya know, after reading many of your posts, I have come to the conclusion that you actively search for the most negative aspect of anything posted. Tell me, when you look at a half-moon, do you take special notice of the dark side, and ignore the bright side? I said that if I read more of her posts, and find them as you describe, I will call her out on it. When I have ample proof. Isn't that enough for you?  (Wednesday Dec 21 | post #11)

NC Gov. Pat McCrory calls for special legislative session...

I think you need to read this: http://www.charlot teobserver.com/new s/local/article121 747648.html It seems they may rescind their local rights ordinance, probably to spur the legislature to rescind their previous legislation.  (Wednesday Dec 21 | post #16)

Court Dismisses Lawsuit From Fired Clerk Who Refused To P...

I haven't read enough of her posts yet, since my visits to the articles are lessened these days, so I am not sure of what she may or may not have said in other posts. I only know what she said here, and that was not enough for me to discern the nuance that you describe. It may be true as you have laid it out, but I'm going to give the benefit of the doubt, and for the moment, put more emphasis on the "faith stops at the door of government". Should I read more of her posts, and come to draw the same conclusion as you, I will then call her out on it. Until then, lets let this conversation die its' natural death. I am just not that interested at this point.  (Wednesday Dec 21 | post #9)

I have no more right to demand that she believe in the same things I do than she does. But she admits that we have our right to marry, and no government employee can abridge that right. Now, if I see that she supports abridging my rights, I will oppose her.  (Dec 20, 2016 | post #6)

As a happily married gay man, I thank you for your opinion, despite what the other poster said. You have every right to not approve of how I live or who I marry, but I agree with you that religious beliefs stop at the door of government. You have met us half way, and it is enough for me that you do not wish to interfere with our obtaining of rights.  (Dec 19, 2016 | post #4)

"Why do so many gay men say sex with a woman is repulsive...

That begs the question, "Did you like it, or were you ambivalent about it?"  (Dec 13, 2016 | post #8)

"Why do so many gay men say sex with a woman is repulsive...

The question posed can most quickly be answered with, "Because it is". I came out at age 15 in 1959 as gay. That was not an easy decision at that time. At age 17 I was in a situation where sex with a woman my age was available, and I decided to try it. After all, some of my friends had suggested that I should at least try it. Being not fully mature at that time, I went along with the idea. Result: I was repulsed by it. Why is that so hard to accept, since truly straight folks are repulsed by the idea of having sex with members of the same sex (putting aside the drunken night scenario). What would make one think that it is any different for us?  (Dec 13, 2016 | post #6)

Trump Supporter Shouting 'Straight White Men Rule' Attack...

The trend of non-white births is up and the trend of white births is down. These births are to mothers already in the U.S. The babies are citizens. Trying to turn the tide at this point is like bailing water back into the ocean with a bucket. Non-white births already exceed white births. Seems the whites in this country just don't want to have kids in the numbers they used to. I wish I could be around in 2043 or thereabouts in order to tell you "told you so", but I will be gone by that time. If you are still here, and retain any mental faculties, I hope you remember you were told.  (Nov 29, 2016 | post #9)

You appear to be an example of the following quote, "Those who do not learn history are doomed to repeat it." The quote is most likely due to George Santayana, and in its original form it read, 'Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.' The phrasing itself certainly is catchy. That statement about "white men rule" may seem the case at the moment. However, in the not too distant future the white race in the U.S. will be a minority. The minorities of today will be in the majority about 2043 according to official statistics. The "white men" who are supposedly in power at the moment should give a tremendous amount of thought to how they treat the minorities of today. Those "white men" may not be alive in 2043, but their children and grandchildren probably will be, and they will be the ones who must face whatever backlash there may be. Hopefully, the majority will be kinder to the minorities when that time comes, after having learned from the mistakes of the white man. Only time will tell.  (Nov 29, 2016 | post #2)
