Our View: Knocking on the door

Some Walnut / Diamond Bar NIMBYs mouthing off. Ignore them. Bring the Raiders in, yeh! I mean, by 2013 they will be better, I got a feeling.  (2 hrs ago | post #4)

Letters to the editor: Opinions on Obama

But is what he says false? (not in your eyes, but in reality?). He doesn't have to be a "real" reporter to put facts and reasoned opinions out there.  (3 hrs ago | post #6)

Our View: Shell games of past budgets

Riiiiight. Lose the 2/3 requirement, and just watch what happens to your taxes then. And shortly thereafter, you'll see a real tax revolt. Heads on a stick! And oh yeah... go Raiders!!!  (Yesterday | post #10)

Our View: Shell games of past budgets

Redrawing the districts will be a great thing, if done right. But to hope that this will result in election of "moderates " of both parties who will somehow have all the common sense in the world and pass sensible budgets is highly naive. A legislature full of unprincipled moderates will almost certainly raise taxes, as there will be few to none of those principled taxpayer advocates usually known as Reagan Republicans.  (Friday Nov 20 | post #1)

Letters to the editor: Opinions on Obama

re the 'meatless thanksgiving" letter: These vegetarian nut jobs come out of the woodwork on a regular basis, and will try to use any hook to hang their agenda on. It's getting tiresome. Let people eat meat for gosh sakes, and you can go have your squash or whatever suits you.  (Thursday Nov 19 | post #3)

Our View: Cottrell should do the time

OMG, let him return to study at Caltech? I don't think so. Keep this little cretin in jail, or at the very least, keep him far away from here.  (Thursday Nov 12 | post #1)

Letters to the Editor: Not in touch

Well this paper certainly cherry-picked and avalanched us with a batch of pro-socialized medicine letters. None of these letter writers has, of course, an inkling of all the details, the costs, the delays that are built into the current bill. They have no clue how awful and harmful this bill is, and how little it will do to help them. And to sit there and praise the House members who voted for it? How about asking those congressmen if they can tell you what's actually in the bill, then watch for the stupefied look on their faces, and shifting eyes, as they struggle to answer something they know they can't. Heads on a stick!  (Thursday Nov 12 | post #3)

Letters to the Editor: Role of veterans

Yes of course the Repubs participated in running up the deficit, and yes they started the "bailout " ball rolling... but Obama could have stopped it right there. Instead, he and his quasi-marxist cronies did more of the same, except that they ramped it up by a factor of about 10. So don't feel too superior with your inane 'Bush started it!' attitude.  (Thursday Nov 12 | post #4)

Fiorina trying to give Sen. Boxer a new name

Hamstrung? Thank god for the 2/3 requirement or else we'd be pretty much just handing over our paychecks to the democrat-run state and their cronies. Try thinking before you touch the keyboard next time. And oh yeh, go Raiders! Come to Industry, yeh!  (Tuesday Nov 10 | post #18)

Our View: When school lunches finally go green

There's a simple solution, so simple that that's probably why politicians and other do-gooders don't see it. Have the parents actually PACK A LUNCH for their kids instead of sending them off for a free government (I mean taxpayer) sponsored lunch at school. This will solve two problems.. first, the parents can put healthier foods in the lunches as they see fit, and second... it gets the do-gooders out of the business of redistributing my income and yours in the name of free lunches and then turning around and blaming the big food companies or other phony hobgoblin for deciding to put junk food on the cafeteria menu.  (Friday Nov 6 | post #2)
