There Are 2 Hopes For The Approved: Earthly And Heavenly

The Bible speaks of a time in mankind's coming history when men, or humans who are servants of God will be able to live on a beautiful paradise earth forever; under peaceful, happy conditions (Psalms 37:10,11,29,37; Psalms 72:7; Matthew 5:5). Not only that if you and I, along with others, are privileged to be around at that time we will gradually over a period of time (during the 1,000 year Kingdom Rule of Christ Jesus), grow back to physical, moral, mental, and spiritual perfection, we will have pristine health and an enjoyable high quality of life. The "icing on the cake" will be when those who have fallen asleep in death will be systematically brought back to life here on an earth free of suffering that we see today (Acts 24:15; Isaiah 26:19; John 11:11-45). That is the earthly hope for obedient mankind. God's ORINGINAL PURPOSE, will then be on it's way to being fulfilled (Revelation 21:4,5; 1st Corinthians 15:26). The heavenly hope for those chosen by or adopted by Jehovah God is significant, because according to Revelation 14:3, it says only 144,000 person's will be resurrected to heaven once they die. There assignments will be in positions as "kings and priests" and they along with Christ Jesus will rule "over the earth" (Revelation 5:9,10; Romans 8:15). Together, Jesus Christ, the 144,000 chosen ones, along with Jehovah God's Oversight will bring unprecedented blessings to the earth and obedient mankind; Christ Jesus' ransom sacrifice will be thoroughly applied to obedient humans at that time in our future history.  (Oct 31, 2013 | post #5)

The Bible Definitely Says That The Dead Cannot Communicat...

I agree that the majority of religions, with the EXCEPTION of Jehovah's Witnesses, believe there is an afterlife when someone dies. Most religions have that common thread or belief.  (Oct 28, 2013 | post #6)

What Does Romans 3:3,4 Mean To You?

I have learned from a serious examination of the scriptures that we are living in the "last days". Before I became a JW, I believed otherwise, until I was shown from the Bible at 2nd Timothy 3:1-5, and verse 13. I "let God be true though every man be a liar" (Romans 3:3,4). I use to believe that the dead can get in contact with the living, until I was shown from the Bible that the dead are "conscious of nothing", the cannot hurt or help us; but they have returned to the state of nonexistence, they have returned back to the elements of the earth (Genesis 3:19)...I thank God that I was not stubborn-headed about learning the truth. I "let God be true though every man be a liar,". I could go on and on, but these are just a couple of things that I willingly adjusted my thinking to, because Jehovah's Witnesses were kind enough to show me in my own Bible at that time, the truth concerning those topics I just mentioned. I willingly and gladly "let God be true though every man be a liar.  (Oct 28, 2013 | post #7)

Religion doesn't exist without faith.

There IS proof that God does exist and that He is very much alive. You, Cookie gave the answer. You must have faith or a belief that He, God exist. However, since we cannot see God, He wants us to use our power of reasoning to "see" with our heart and "minds' eye of discernment" (Romans 1:19,20)....When one looks at the beautiful and intricate details of animals, animate and inanimate objects, visible and invisible things, even our human body....you cannot help but see the deliberate and thoughtfulness of a loving God who formed these creations. Our earth alone was formed to sustain life indefinitely as well. Most nominal, and non-religious faith have a lot of non-scriptural beliefs in common...they are too numerous to mention. And yes the majority of the religions on the earth believe the same things, the biggie: That there's life after death or an afterlife of some sort.  (Oct 28, 2013 | post #3)

Religion doesn't exist without faith.

Cookie you have many sincere interesting questions, I will try to answer them for you. Jesus expressed a similar thought when he said to some who believed in him: "If you REMAIN in my word, you are really my disciples, and you will KNOW the truth, and the truth will set you free." (John 8:31,32). With the matter of judging others, that is left up to God. He sees the heart and inner most details of person's character and mind-set...He, God sees the picture concerning us as humans...whereas, we humans only can see "through a key hole" figuratively speaking, concerning another human being. Cookie when people exhibit undesirable traits, behavior, or speech...it is whats in the Bible that condemns their behavior, or judges them. These ones many times are often not aware that their conduct is offensive to God and so these ones continue in that type of behavior. Unless, someone sincerely and without ulterior motive brings it to their attention they will never know the "truth" about putting on "the new personality" as outlined in God's Word. To "know", say one reference, means also to have appreciation because "what is KNOWN" is of value or importance to the one who knows." Thus, we "know" the truth in the fullest sense when we make it our way of life, and when we have seen how and "know" how it, the truth of God's Word, has worked, or has been a benefit in our own personal lives.  (Oct 28, 2013 | post #2)

What Does It Mean To Be "No Part Of The World"? And Why?

The beautiful thing about forums of any sort is that we all have the option of disagreeing with each other. We are all the flip side of the other coin so to speak.  (Oct 28, 2013 | post #11)

What Does It Mean To Be "No Part Of The World"? And Why?

A Christian, true, lives in the world, they have no choice...but he or she doesn't have to be like the world or a part of the world. If Jesus Christ "conquered the world" with his heavenly Father's help, genuine Christians or any one for that matter can "conquer " Satan's world with God's help. The Bible admonishes a dress code for Christians found at 1st Timothy 2:9 which in part says Christians, women as well as men, to: "....adorn themselves in well arranged dress, with modesty and soundness of mind...or very expensive garb"----a principle that applies with equal force to men.  (Oct 28, 2013 | post #9)

What Does It Mean To Be "No Part Of The World"? And Why?

Dress has much to do with it also, it goes along with being a real Christian. It's part of the puzzle or big picture or package, which includes those things you mentioned such as "greed, corruption, the jealousy and hatred"....Th ose are the big and obvious things that a Christian would be no part of, but the matter of dress comes into play also. The old saying is: "If you walk like duck, look like a duck, you are a duck". I believe if you cannot distinguish a Christian from the world because of their speech, appearance and demeanor, then they ARE part of the world.  (Oct 28, 2013 | post #6)

What Does Romans 3:3,4 Mean To You?

Humility, honesty with one's self, and a spiritual thirst and hunger for accurate truth and knowledge from the Bible will cause a person to admit that what they THOUGHT was correct concerning what's in the Bible is incorrect.  (Oct 28, 2013 | post #5)

What Does It Mean To Be "No Part Of The World"? And Why?

Also, being no part of this world means being modest in our dress and other areas of our life and following the admonition at 1st John 2:15-17.  (Oct 28, 2013 | post #4)

How Would Encourage A Depressed Relative or Friend And Gi...

I would first give them a "listening heart", and let them talk out their fears and anxieties. I wouldn't be so quick to pull out the Bible just yet; I would simply quote Bible scriptures in principle only, in my own words when I discern need to. I would reassure that depressed person, that if they needed me and I could help them I would do so; even if it means just giving them a "listening heart"....  (Oct 28, 2013 | post #1)

What Does Romans 3:3,4 Mean To You?

To me it means admitting when I'm wrong about something I've been shown from the Bible is not true even though I believe another way.  (Oct 28, 2013 | post #1)

The Bible Definitely Says That The Dead Cannot Communicat...

Aussie Bob, I do not base my hunches on my own human understanding or that of others. The Bible, God's Word is the sole ultimate Authority on the condition of the dead. It would behoove persons who really want to know the accurate truth about the condition of the dead and what they cannot do, to examine and meditate on the verses from the Bible that I have sited.  (Oct 28, 2013 | post #3)
