Sidetracks - President Bush gets an unwelcome surprise

That is obviously not true.  (May 25, 2007 | post #13)

7 More U.S. Troops Killed, 3 Still Missing

They did find everything to make WMD. Would you have rather we waited until they finished the process? You also mentioned in one of your posts that they do not have the desire or ability to attach us. Really? Where were you on September 11, 2001? The towers didn't fall because of bombs strapped to a body.  (May 24, 2007 | post #244)

I find it sad that we have resumed to name calling and tongue lashing. The ignorant ones on here can't help it. They know no other way to communicate, but I know most of you that are responding to them have a much better vocabulary and are above their tactics. Personally, I don't know any more how I feel about the war. Honestly. But I DO know that I support each and every service man/woman in our military, if they are in Iraq now or not. I don't have any constructive suggestion for how to leave without the hate from there becoming two fold so I don't pretend too by screaming "Pull out now idiot" like some seem to do. To all those who can only gripe and complain about what is happening. Why don't you offer something constructive rather than just name calling and criticizing. I don't see any of you offering to step up to the plate.  (May 22, 2007 | post #172)

The Marines have a name for people like you. Garbage. Take a history class and then maybe you'll realize WHY you are able to spout the crap you do. You can thank every man and woman who is now serving or has ever served for that privilege you seem to take full advantage of. A Soldiers Wife: Because of the love your husband has for you, your children and his country he is serving during war time. To me that is a wonderful show of courage and honor. I applaud him and you! I know that being a wife of a Soldier. you will not allow the cesspool of garbage like this guy spouts bring you down. Your head is held high and you know he is the true coward. He continues to prove it with each post. It is too bad that our men and woman willing to serve their country are also protecting ones like him. To me that is a true 'casualty of war'.  (May 22, 2007 | post #171)

Humm... Actually fighting with protection is showing intelligence. What do you think they should fight with? Bombs duct taped to their bodies perhaps??? Sorry, our troops don't believe in the crap about the virgins. They are too smart for that kind of "propaganda ". Hence the reason they wear protection. A dead soldier isn't a very good shot.  (May 21, 2007 | post #91)

When I read comments like the ones made here by "nikita glushkov" "inmigrant " and "HEZZBOLAH RULES" that are fact less blatant lies, it just proves that what we are doing is right and gives me (and my Marine son) more reason to stand tall and push ahead. I'm glad the majority of the people in Iraq don't agree with this type. They truly are glad we are there. Are some peoples memories so sort term that they have already forgotten the video we all saw the day our brave men and woman took down that horrid ruler and entered Baghdad? Mine isn't. The people of Iraq were out in droves rejoicing from one boarder to the next.  (May 21, 2007 | post #87)

Officials fear pine beetles will cross continental divide

I agree with you Bill, but fire isn't the only alternative. We could have been properly managing the forest and that would have preserved it for even us to enjoy with out the devastation caused by either fire or the pine beetle.  (May 21, 2007 | post #6)

The beetles will go everywhere that the conditions are good for them to thrive. They know no boundaries, so it's only a matter of time now. I find it sad that the best defense against the pine beetle: thinning the forest of it over growth and old growth, for better air flow and lower water demand, was never mentioned in the article. Then again, that would be admitting that the environmentalist are responsible for the devastation the beetle has already (and will continue to) cause.  (May 21, 2007 | post #5)

Wednesday best day to buy gas?

I don't think that in todays world it is a matter of choice any more. We do without other things because we put all our money into the tank. Lets face it, we still need to commute. The price of gas won't change that. It needs to get under control though, because everything rises with the price of fuel and that will send our ecomonomy into a downward spiral (which it already has).  (May 16, 2007 | post #4)

Pine beetles continue to kill millions of trees

Please excuse the bad typos that look like I cannot spell. It is late I just finished a 13 hour shift. I'll be sure to proof read next time. ;^) rags  (May 12, 2007 | post #7)

Pine beetles continue to kill millions of trees

Proper management of the forest will solve the problem. Or at least it would have had we done it sooner. For some areas it is simply too late. The beetles trive on the old growth because the trees are loosing their natural defence and have less sap to push the beetles out when they bore in. The beetles also do very well in areas with little to know air flow, another problem created recently by not managing the forest. Cutting down the trees now is useless. The beetles have already flown. They need to be cut in the early spring or wait till fall. As for the person who blamed 'global warming' well, you sound like one of the people that started this problem to begin with when cutting the trees became a taboo thing. Global Warming! Forests felled in high country in battle against bark beetle
