Hey y'all. I'm soliciting prayers for a cool breeze, rain shower or a cloud to come blot out the sun for a while. I'm sick with the flu in the summertime. I am not a happy camper. Where is a minor weather deity when you need one?  (Jun 14, 2008 | post #18657)

Thanks for letting me know it's not just my computer. I've been having some trouble with the internet in that I can't get flashplayer downloaded and there's a lot of video/animation etc that I can't get. I've tried over and over and I think it's downloaded but then I go to a site that says that I need flashplayer - so I don't know. My husband isnt' sure what the problem is exactly - and he's not really pressed about it as this is not "his" computer, if you know what I mean. I know this is a used computer so I thought maybe there was something more wrong with it than we've figured out so far. What do all you computer guru's out there think?  (Jun 12, 2008 | post #18622)

I was trying to post in the WLTX ESTW forum but it loads soooo slow. What is up with that? I can post with no prob on the news article comments but I can't even get the Community page to load up. Do y'all have that problem too?  (Jun 12, 2008 | post #18618)

Clinton to End Campaign in Washington Saturday

wow - that's quite a list of "suicides. " I wonder how someone committing "suicide " manages to shoot themselves in the BACK of their head? In the spirit of keeping an open mind though, I wonder how many people associated with John McCain or any other politician for that matter have died in mysterious circumstances? It's in some respects the nature of the beast isn't it. The more prominent you are, the more people you know, so statistically the more people that you know will die in questionable circumstances. Also, money and power attracts bottom feeders - it doesn't necessarily mean that the Clinton's had something to do with ALL of the deaths or any of them for that matter. Of course, I don't really believe THAT either.  (Jun 12, 2008 | post #511)

No, I left Topix for a while because of the BS- then my husband took the laptop with him when he was staying with some friends because his work was so far away from our house. When he was home on the weekends we were always busy or he was on the computer playing World of Warcraft. Then he got me playing WOW too for a while - so when I did have access to the computer that is what I was doing. So, when I was ready to come back - I either couldn't or I got distracted by something else, ya know what I mean? I would read every now and then when I got a chance at work, but I didn't post cause it's the end of the fiscal year and it's been really busy and I didn't really have too much time. Sorry if that is what you thought that I meant - But I like y'all and didn't mean to imply that I left because of BS on the Wheel. Forgive me? PLEASE? The good news is that my husband brought home a desktop that the people he's been working for gave him. They thought that it was trash and he said he'd take a look at it and see if he could do anything with it. It turns out that they had all their programs coming up at startup and it was bogging the computer down to the point that it would freeze up - so he cleaned out all the unnecessary stuff and took out all the stuff that was BS and it's good as new. So, now I have my own computer. He got me some kind of router? thingy that makes it so that we can both be connected to the internet at the same time and I can talk to y'all and he can play WOW. Voila - no more arguments over whose turn it is to use the computer. Yeah! He's so awesome.  (Jun 12, 2008 | post #18614)

Hey I got registered and I'm cruising around on the forums but I don't see ESTW - where is it? Is it just me and my slow computer or does it seem to take a long time for your posts to load?  (Jun 11, 2008 | post #18549)

Racist people are mentally ill

The only thing those statistics prove is that cops are more likely to arrest people of color and people of color are more likely to be convicted. It says absolutely nothing about how much crime they ACTUALLY commit. The problem with statistics is that you can skew the data to fit your preconceived notions. You look at that and say, Well they would not be in jail/prison if they weren't committing the crimes. That is incredibly naive and completely overlooking the history of this country that has (generally) a severe problem with anyone/thing that is different.  (Jun 11, 2008 | post #24)

Hey JP - how've you been? I tried to register on the new WLTX, but I haven't gotten my confirmation email yet. How long does that usually take?  (Jun 11, 2008 | post #18538)

I guess. I've been gone the past couple of weeks so I really don't know what all the controversy is. I read back a little, and I really don't get it. I don't understand how it all got blown out of proportion. [email protected] o.com - I'm simply curious. My name's Bennit and I ain't in it!!  (Jun 11, 2008 | post #18537)

A Republican President would make a huge difference. I don't think that a Democrat would have nominated Scalia, Thomas, or Roberts. There is a very large difference in how conservative judges rule and how liberal judges rule. It is not supposed to matter what Party they are on, but it does matter very much whether they identify as conservative or liberal.  (Jun 11, 2008 | post #494)
