Cannibalism in Japan

ok you know what? The odd news sections have become completely overrun with BS and I'm unsubscribing from it. No point wasting time sifting through crap to find the occasional interesting TRUE story anymore.  (Jul 17, 2009 | post #9)

Sara Palin wants to nuke slime, enviromentalists

I've been seeing an increase in bogus stories being injected into the newsfeeds. I hate to say it but this is a concern if the news is now going to be adulterated with satire and halftruths, aside from what the legitimate news agencies already generate themselves.  (Jul 17, 2009 | post #4)

World's oldest mother dies three years after giving birth...

LOL. Oh what? What a surprise. Nice going doc. Does it seem as if there has been a general drop in medical ethics in the last few years what with grandmother aged new moms and puppy litter octomoms?  (Jul 15, 2009 | post #1)

Traffic Stop Turns Fatal as Man's Neck is Broken

All because he wanted to take some drugs. Some day I hope society will look at this video and be horrified that a man had to die because we allowed government to dictate to us how we might enjoy ourselves. You can have sex, but it has to be with your wife, not a prostitute. You can take drugs, but they have to be prescribed or medicinal, not recreational. You can drink alochol, but not on Sundays. This is very sad.  (Jul 14, 2009 | post #8)

Right now, the Republicans dont have any answers. They are definitely the party of no. Useless. No sense sharing power with them. Come up with some solutions and then we'll listen.  (Jul 14, 2009 | post #206)

Pastor Admits to Praying for President Obama's Death

So if I pull the plug on my computer, I've killed its life? Up until then, its a marvel of life, filled with activity, lights, sounds, interaction. Eventually everything wears out and breaks, and recycles itself. Its the way of nature. Stars die, ejecting their mass into space which collects into new centers, bearing down into tightly packed balls which blaze alight and creating new stars. Nothing is static, all is change. "Life" as we describe it, is one more complex series of changing chemical reactions.  (Jul 14, 2009 | post #180)

So evidently you equate a conservative man of God with your average "laughing liberal". Your implication. Personally as a laughing liberal, I actually expect more.  (Jul 14, 2009 | post #176)

Thats because the Republicans did such an incredibly bad job of it. No sympathy. Suffer with the consequences. I doubt they'll be anywhere near as severe as what we've already experienced from the previous leading dolt.  (Jul 14, 2009 | post #174)

You overrate the nature of "life". Its like saying what is the mechanism that animates "rust"? Its actually the same process -- oxidation of minerals. Blood is red because of the iron in it that literally "rusts" as it absorbs oxygen for distribution to the cells. We *burn* oxygen in our bodies which is responsible for the heat they produce. Yes, we are far more complex than simple creeping rust, but its essentially the same chemical process. We are just very very complex chemical stews. There is no "magical " soul required, though there is a certain magic in that such a thing exists, just as there is a certain magic in the width and depth of the internet, and in GPS technology, and the very latest technology in your home computer. All quite complex and magical, none requiring some kind of "soul".  (Jul 14, 2009 | post #172)

Yes, I agree with that. More proof of it is when you consider what happens when you're knocked out, in a coma, or under general anesthesia. Where's your soul then? If it really was independent from your body, you'd still be aware somewhere, dreaming, thinking. You're not -- you're mentally as good as dead. Your mind/soul is a fabrication of the chemical reactions in your head. There is nothing more.  (Jul 14, 2009 | post #155)

People in Europe have better health care than we do. And they work less hard to get it. Oooh, thats so evil. THINK about what your'e saying and stop repeating the lies of the Repulican rich who dont want to pay for YOUR health care.  (Jul 14, 2009 | post #133)
