Haley: Drug test the unemployed getting benefits

It's cheaper to pay a one time $100 bucks than to pay unemployment benefits for months and months to a person who can't get a job because they cant pass a drug test. They should drug test anyone who is on government assistance.  (Nov 2, 2010 | post #8)

Pekingese puppies

In a few weeks I will have 8 pekingese puppies to give away. Sorry to say that I wasnt quick enough to get my girl fixed. They are full blooded but both parents are rescues and have no papers. which is why I am giving them away rather than selling them. I just want them to have a nice home and a happy life. Please read up on the breed before making up your mind. They are indoor dogs and are pretty clingy. They love attention and are perfect lap dogs. It's still kinda early to tell exactly what they will look like when they get bigger, but most are black and white.  (Nov 2, 2010 | post #1)

Marijuana - Greenville, SC

It should be legalized and taxed. We can sure use the revenue. I dont buy the 'gateway drug' theory- many people get hooked on and/or abuse prescription drugs that have never even smoked a cigarette or had a single drink of alcohol. The side effects of pot is nothing compared to some of the side effects of almost all the synthetic drugs advertised on TV. Pot is no worse for the human body than cigarettes and alcohol and both of those are legal...... for now  (Sep 8, 2010 | post #20)

Marijuana - Elkhorn City, KY

We could use the tax money. Its no worse than cigarettes or alcohol. People may go back to pot and stop OD"ing on pills..  (Aug 25, 2010 | post #5)

lawsuit for slander against topix

Exactly!!! Gossip has been around since the dawn of man. The first thing Mrs. Oleson did when they installed the switch board in Walnut Grove was listen in on everyones telephone calls. LOL. The internet just lets people gossip in a more technological way. If they werent typing it on topix, they'd be blowing up someones cell to let everyone in on the latest info.  (Aug 17, 2010 | post #61)

What happened to EC??

I drove thru EC for the first time in 10 or 15 yrs a couple of weeks ago and was shocked at what I saw. The place has turned into a dumpy ghost town. The buildings that are still standing are vacant or nasty looking. The pool is closed. The Dairy Cheer is closed. The Wagon Wheel is gone. I thought that there was some plan to turn the area by the bridge into a boardwalk, beachy kinda hang-out. What happened to EC??  (Aug 11, 2010 | post #1)

No pill mill in our city

NPC is totally right. 'cant find a dr to prescribe medication' means a legit dr wont give pill heads drugs for them to get high on. so they have to find a pill mill dr to get them. the drs that run these 'pain clinics' are most likely drs that have had their licenses taken for malpractice somewhere else. when one of their 'patients' overdose they should be put in jail  (Aug 8, 2010 | post #13)

People and Topix

I dont live in EC anymore either and would like to hear what has been going on in the area. who left, who stayed and what people I used to know have been up to, but seems like posting a question about any certain person is asking for other people to dog them out.  (Jul 30, 2010 | post #14)

is elkhorn city the....?

I grew up in EC and got out as soon as possible. there is no way i would raise children there. if you think that EC doesnt have a drug issue, you are in denial. it is worse there than any other place i have ever lived. I go back to visit relatives often and am saddened to see and hear of people i went to school with, people who had tons of potential, strung out on drugs. There are no jobs in pike county and there is nothing to do but watch the grass grow.  (Jul 17, 2010 | post #19)
