Hi everyone... Here is my prediction for the day... Madama Zazuza sees.... Much money changing hands in large boxlike structures. Angry people, crying children, frenzied energy. Tired workers. And remorse for spending money one does not really have to buy things one does not truly need... Hey, just being honest! =)  (Nov 23, 2012 | post #14821)

The caster will discuss this with you. Usually they'll do a divination ahead of time, to see if the work has any chance of success, and ask what the entities involved may want. Offerings vary depending on the type of work done. Even light or white magic has an offering component to its work. As a solitary witch, I used to offer seasonal fruits and veg, flowers, or a glass of wine or juice, depending on which deity I was working with on a ritual(for example, Bast likes beer but Demeter prefers barley water!). See what the worker suggests and go from there. Warning: some practices do require animal sacrifice, such as in Voodoo, Palo, etc. But you won't be doing that, the caster will.  (Nov 12, 2012 | post #13531)

Mine is the opposite. The female in my bedroom just snoozes and watches the entities as they flit by. The male, who I have to separate from her (two alphas who despise each other at least I think they do)is very sensitive and runs all over the living room and kitchen like crazy. Only today he decided since he was jealous he would steal every bit of food I was working with. He dragged a loaf of bread right off the counter! Apart from that my life has been fairly boring.  (Nov 12, 2012 | post #13529)

@Kate, black or dark magic calls upon the more base malevolent forces as a means to accomplish an end. Spellwork is done for both types of magic but dark conjuring may invoke demonic forces to aid in its success. Can it be used for good? Think of it like this---you need something done about a bad situation, one that really is unjust and has wronged you or someone or a bad scenario has arisen. This is serious, not someone cutting you off in traffic one morning. You have talked to the local authorities (the police, etc) and no headway has been made. So....you go see Knuckles Malone and his band of thugs ;-) and state your case. They agree it's a bad situation and agree to take care of it for you. BUT, and this is a BIG but, Knuckles and his pals may ask for some kind of favor in return. Payment so to speak. That's the difference between black and white magic in many cases. The darker the work, the more likely an offering or an agreement needs to be made, one that is not taken lightly. Which is why working with the dark side is best left in the hands of one who is capable in those arts. In other words, don't try this at home =:-0 Make sense?  (Nov 12, 2012 | post #13517)

Root Work

Hi everyone. I have been busy with life so have not been on. Sister Sharon, glad your meetup went well. How I wish I lived closer!!!! I have a funny story to share. I finally got my spikenard so was preparing the root ball for a change of luck/money as suggested. I put the plastic bag of leftovers into the box of herbs and roots I keep in the living room. This morning come to find the spikenard bag in the middle of the floor, chewed open, and a good handful of the herb on the rug. My familiar black cat decided it was as good as catnip! I scolded him just enough and put the bag away but left the herb out for him to play with. I wonder what that meant? Maybe he just liked the scent? he is a very magical kitty!  (Oct 18, 2012 | post #519)

Good advice, Karyn. After my recent incident, I still think spirits are malevolent, when I know that isn't the case! =)  (Oct 9, 2012 | post #10232)

Smudge your house with sage. Then put bay leaves in all your windows. Also put a square of camphor in each corner of each room (spirits hate camphor!). That keeps spirits at bay. If you can sprinkle a mix of fresh rue and basil on your doorstep, that may help as well, but each spirit is different in how they can be dealt with. Good luck!  (Oct 9, 2012 | post #10225)

@Savvy, are you really in Harvey? My family lived there for years before they moved to CA! Way before my time, though...  (Oct 9, 2012 | post #10223)
